This study investigates spalling appearance and residual compressive strength after examination of fundamental properties on the concrete and fire test to prevent spalling of the concrete. Test results showed that fluidity, air content, and compressive strength are excellent in the case that polyethylene Polyvinyl Acetate and polyvinyl alcohol fiber was mixed. After fire test, it is analyzed that using polyvinyl alcohol fiber is effective considering spalling property.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a non-invasive neuromodulation technique, has been increasingly used to treat bipolar depression. Researchers recently noticed the risk of tDCS-emergent mania/hypomania in depressed patients and started to evaluate this risk by launching a meta-analysis. Here we present a female with bipolar II depression who rapidly developed hypomanic switching during bifrontal tDCS.

This study investigates the fire resistance of the high strength concrete to enforce a fire test according to the hydrocarbon(HC) temperature heating curve. The results are summarized as following. For the properties of the fresh concrete, all slump flow and air content corresponding to the variation of the fiber contents are satisfied with their target. For the properties of the hardened concrete, the compressive strengths of all specimens are about 70 MPa, and it is slightly decreased according to the fiber content. For the spalling occurrence after the fire test, the explosive spalling occurs below 0.01% of the fiber content, but there is no spalling on the 0,05% of the fiber content. The residual compressive strength corresponding to the fiber content is about 10%, and weight loss ratio is also about 10%, but they are comparatively favorable.

This study reported the influence of CSA admixture affecting early-age strength formation of concrete. According to test results, slump of plain concrete shows that fluidity was decreased due to increase of displacement ratio. It also decreased with setting time. All specimens had successful air content and bleeding was declined due to small percentage of water to binder ratio and high percentage of CSA ratio. Setting time was promoted 3 to 6hours in 35% of W/B and 2 to 4hours in 45% of W/B. As properties of compressive strength, plain concrete was significantly dwindled, compared with that of OPC, at the early age. However, plain proportion incorporating CSA admixture much improved early-age strength reduction.
