The total ionizing dose (TID) and non ionizing energy loss (NIEL) effects of 100 MeV phosphorous (P7þ)and 80 MeV nitrogen (N6þ) ions on 200 GHz silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistors (SiGeHBTs) were examined in the total dose range from 1 to 100 Mrad(Si). The in-situ IeV characteristics likeGummel characteristics, excess base current (DIB), net oxide trapped charge (NOX), current gain (hFE),avalanche multiplication (M 1), neutral base recombination (NBR) and output characteristics (IC-VCE)were analysed before and after irradiation. The significant degradation in device parameters wasobserved after 100 MeV P7þ and 80 MeV N6þ ion irradiation. The 100 MeV P7þ ions create more damagein the SiGe HBT structure and in turn degrade the electrical characteristics of SiGe HBTs more whencompared to 80 MeV N6þ. The SiGe HBTs irradiated up to 100 Mrad of total dose were annealed from50 C to 400 C in different steps for 30 min duration in order to study the recovery of electrical characteristics. The recovery factors (RFs) are employed to analyse the contribution of room temperature andisochronal annealing in total recovery.

Laccase- and peroxidase-free tyrosinase has commercial importance in the production of L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA), which is mainly used in the treatment of Parkinson`s disease. In the present study, isolation of an actinomycetes microbial strain capable of producing only tyrosinase is reported. Among all soil isolates, three individual colonies revealed black color around the colony in the presence of tyrosine. Further screening for laccase and peroxidase activities using syringaldazine denoted that one of the isolates, designated as RSP-T1, is laccase and peroxidase negative and produces only tyrosinase. The microbe was authenticated as Streptomyces antibioticus based on 16S ribotyping. Effective growth of this isolate was noticed with the use of medium (pH 5.5) containing casein acid hydrolysate (10.0 g/l), K2HPO4 (5.0 g/l), MgSO4 (0.25 g/l), L-tyrosine (1.0 g/l), and agar (15 g/l). The scanning electron micrograph depicted that the microbe is highly branched and filamentous in nature. The enzyme production was positively regulated in the presence of copper sulfate. The impact of different fermentation parameters on tyrosinase production depicted that the maximized enzyme titer values were observed when this isolate was grown at 6.5 pH and at 30oC temperature under agitated conditions (220 rpm). Among all the studied physiological parameters, agitation played a significant role on tyrosinase production. Upon optimization of the parameters, the yield of tyrosinase was improved more than 100% compared with the initial yield.
Effect of ZnO nanoparticles aggregation on the toxicity in RAW 264.7 murine macrophage
Tripathy, N.,Hong, T.K.,Ha, K.T.,Jeong, H.S.,Hahn, Y.B. Elsevier Scientific Pub. Co 2014 Journal of hazardous materials Vol.270 No.-
Nanostructured zinc oxide (ZnO) has received much attention due to its biological and medical applications, where detailed knowledge about particle sizing, aggregation propensity and its related hazards are crucial. Herein, the aggregation propensity and dissolution behavior of ZnO nanoparticles in aqueous medium (PBS) were studied as a function of concentration and further correlated with its toxicity in RAW 264.7 murine macrophages. Fast formation of smaller aggregates having high dissolution rate was observed at low concentration ZnO (LC-ZnO). Compared to high concentration ZnO (HC-ZnO) aggregates, the LC-ZnO aggregates were highly pronounced in terms of reactive oxygen species generation and exerting cell apoptosis, ascribed to the secondary size effect, size-dependent cellular uptake and ion solubility. This study outlines the nanoparticle concentration as a key factor in scaling its aggregation, dissolution tendency and also emphasizes the accounting of ingested nanomaterials long-term fate inside the cells.
An Empirical Study on Performance Measurement Factors for Construction Organizations
K. K. Tripathi,K. N. Jha 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.4
Like any other organization, it has become essential for the organizations in the construction industry to measure their performanceeffectively for long-term survival in today’s competitive business environment. Therefore, it is imperative for a constructionorganization to know about various performance measurement factors to evaluate its performance. However, most of the previousstudies have focused on identification of factors for measuring performance at the level of projects only. Moreover, the majority ofthese studies have been undertaken in context to the developed construction markets. The present study addresses these gaps in theliterature by identifying critical factors for examining the performance of construction firms at the organizational level. A total of 20organizational performance attributes were identified and analyzed using a questionnaire survey conducted on 106 respondentsamong 90 different organizations operating in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. It was found that attributes such as timelycompletion, relationship with the client, and satisfaction (in terms of both product and services) carry more weight than the costperformance of a construction organization. In addition to this, factor analysis conducted on the performance attributes of highimportance has resulted in six performance factors: (1) profitability and asset management, (2) satisfaction of key stakeholders, (3)predictability of time and cost, (4) environment, health, and safety (EHS), (5) quality consciousness, and (6) low staff turnover. Theperformance factors obtained from the study may provide useful guidelines to the construction organizations enabling them toexamine and improve their performance.
Relativistic effect on stimulated Raman scattering of a laser in plasma
Gupta, D N,Yadav, Sushila,Tripathi, V K,Suk, H Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences 2006 Physica scripta Vol.73 No.3
<P>An intense laser beam propagating in relativistic plasma undergoes stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), producing a relativistic plasma wave and an electromagnetic sideband. The amplitudes of the Langmuir wave and scattered electromagnetic sideband wave increase initially and decrease after attaining a saturation level, giving a periodic exchange of energy between the pump wave and the daughter waves. The relativistic effect plays an important role during SRS of a laser in plasma.</P>

A partially characterized extract of Podophyllum hexandrum rhizomes was studied for its radioprotective potential in mice. A major portion of the podophyllotoxin was obtained from the extract by further fractionation. Acute toxicity and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of a single intraperitoneal dose of the extract were studied in mice to evaluate the toxicity of the extract, if any. Radioprotective efficacy was determined in terms of survival against 10 Gy whole-body irradiation (WBI), protection against 1 Gy-induced chromosomal aberration (CA), and estimation of dose reduction factor (DRF) in irradiated and extract pretreated mice. The MTD was observed to be 60 mg/kg of body weight, whereas a dose of 90 mg/kg of body weight yielded 50% death in mice within 72 hours of intraperitoneal administration of the extract. A dose range of 15–20 mg/kg of body weight administered 2 hours before 10 Gy WBI of mice yielded 66% survival, while administration of 10–15 mg/kg of body weight of the extract 1 hour before WBI yielded more than 90% survival. A DRF of 1.625 was estimated for 10 and 15 mg/kg of body weight of the extract administered 1 hour before WBI. Further studies on modulation of 1 Gy-induced CA revealed significant radioprotective efficacy of the extract in mouse bone marrow cells. Partial removal of podophyllotoxin was useful in reducing toxicity of the extract without altering its radioprotective efficacy.
