Users of university library come to be influenced by information-search behavior due to barriers such as the level of a desire for satisfying information demand in the process of using information, the level of availability for information source, and the economic efficiency in the information use. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to activate the broader use of resource sharing service by closely examining the cognitive characteristics of users, who accept information technology. This study verified and analyzed which influence the belief as saying of being useful in the use of DDS (Document Delivery Service) for university library and the belief as saying of being able to use easily have upon ‘intention of continuously using’, 'intention of paying for use,’ and ‘intention of recommendation’ in intention of accepting resource sharing service, through Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). To verify a model of this study, it collected data targeting 50 users of DDS for S university library, and carried out the statistical method in correlation analysis and regression analysis with SPSS.
Summarized results of this study are as follows.
It can be known that the cognitive characteristic as saying that users of DDS at university library are 'easy for an individual and for acquiring information' has positive influence upon 'intention of continuous use' in resource sharing service. Also, ‘the useful level according to research performance,’ ‘useful level for an individual,’ ‘usefulness in use,’ and ‘stable service’ were indicated to have positive influence upon 'recommending' it to somebody. On the other hand, users of DDS don't have intention of continuously using while 'paying' additional cost just with being useful in service, but are showing the intention of continuously using even if 'paying' the additional cost for which the information service is offered easily with more 'stable service.'
As a result of this study, users of DDS showed more sensitive attitude toward the perceived usefulness. Thus, the easier in the use of information technology leads to the more perceiving it to be more useful, and the more thinking it to be more useful leads to the more favorable in the attitude and intention of using the corresponding information technology. Therefore, the conclusion can be made as saying of supporting the core in Technology Acceptance Model in which the use of information technology is enhanced. Accordingly, a manager of university library will need to support so that easy information service can be made with the more stable system given introducing information technology.
