내담자의 회기 불참에 대한 상담자 자기대화 분석: 상담자 발달수준에 따른 차이를 중심으로 = An Analysis of the Counselor's Self-Talk about Client's No-Show

This study was intended to analyze the counselor's self-talk as an empirical study about counselor's reflection that was the most important component of counselor's professional development. Many studies about counselor's self-talk had been conducted about general counseling process. However, this study was conducted to classify the counselor's self-talk about client's no-show because there were few studies in spite of increasing the counselor's reflection. First, 138 responses were collected from 20 participants through interview. Next the structure of classification was derived through card sorting. Then it was validated by 4 reviewers' resorting and modifying. Prior to next research about difference in counselor's self-talk on the counselor's developmental differences, the questionnaire were developed. The 101 respondents were identified as the valid sample. One-way ANOVA was conducted to test the hypothesis that there was any significant difference in counselor's self-talk about client's no-show on the counselor's developmental differences. In addition Scheffé Post Hoc Tests were used to examine the variance in details which appeared significantly. As a result, significant group differences were found in 3 categories; subjective interpretation about reason, evaluation about counseling, emotional responses. And it was found that the lower a counselor's developmental level is, the more he or she had self-talk. In addition, the counselor of low developmental level had self-talk about past-oriented and self. This study was the cornerstone of research as focusing on the counselor's self-talk about client's no-show that had been overlooked in the research. Moreover counselors would get useful information for effective counseling by classifying counselor's self-talk in the specific situation.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 상담자 전문성 발달의 핵심적인 요소로 강조되어온 자기성찰에 대한 경험적 연구로서, 상담자 자기대화 분석을 통해 상담자 교육에 있어서 전문성 향상을 위한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 일반적인 상황에서의 자기대화를 분류한 선행 연구들과는 달리, 본 연구는 상담자가 어려움을 경험함으로써 자기성찰이 활성화되는 계기이나 경험적 연구가 부족한 내담자의 회기 불참 상황에 대한 상담자의 자기대화를 분류하였다. 먼저 20명의 상담자와의 면접을 통해 138개의 반응 자료를 수집하였다. 다음 이를 대상으로 카드분류를 함으로써 1차 분류 체계를 완성하고, 검토자 4명이 구성된 분류 체계의 개념에 따라 재분류를 실시하여 분류의 타당성을 검토하였다. 그리고 내담자 회기 불참에 대한 상담자 발달수준별 자기대화의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 앞서 구성된 자기대화 항목들을 질문지로 제작, 조사하여 유효한 101개의 자료에 대해 일원변량분석 및 Scheffé 사후검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 이유에 대한 주관적 해석·상담에 대한 평가·감정 반응 군에서 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 상담자 발달수준이 낮을수록 자기대화 양이 증가하며, 특히 과거 지향적이고 상담자 관련 자기대화를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내·외를 통틀어 그간 연구가 활발히 진행되지 않았던 내담자의 회기 불참 상황에 초점을 맞춤으로써 내담자 회기 불참 상황에 대해 연구가 진행될 수 있는 하나의 초석이 되었다는 점에 그 의의가 있다. 또한 특정 상황에서의 상담자의 자기대화를 분류함으로써 현재 현장에서 상담을 하고 있는 상담자들에게 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있으리라 기대된다.
