자원봉사활동이 사회적 자본 형성에 미치는 영향 -중고령층의 자원봉사자를 중심으로 - = The Effects of Voluntary Activity on Social Capital Formation

This research analyzes voluntary activities on a macro level or as a means of utilizing social capital, whereas past studies in the field investigate on a microscopic level, such as study cases on individual satisfaction or voluntary activities as leisures. The research specifically focuses on the fact that senior citizens' participation on voluntary activities are related to social capital.
Based on statistical analysis, the research presents the effect of senior citizens' voluntary activities on social capital formation. Results of regression analysis on the influence of the volunteer activities have significant impact in all categories. Impact is greater when the analysis was performed with participation frequency and interval as its independent variables, compared to when other factors were set as independent variables. In the multiple regression model, more positive perceptions are found on social network and personal trust as frequency and interval increases. When impact of the frequency and interval on social capital including personal trust, organizational trust, social network and norms of reciprocity is evaluated through the multiple regression model, it is the social network that both independent variables have positive and significant impact on.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

기존의 자원봉사활동 연구가 개인의 만족도 또는 여가시간의 활용만을 측정하는 개인차원의 연구가 중심이라면 이 연구는 거시적인 차원에서 사회적 자본의 관점에서 접근하고 있다. 즉 중고령층의 자원봉사활동이 사회적 자본과 연결되어 있다는 것에 초점을 두고 있다.
이 연구는 중고령층의 자원봉사활동을 통한 사회적 자본 형성에 미치는 영향을 통계분석한 것이다. 자원봉사 참여의 영향력에 대한 회귀분석 결과는 모든 항목에서 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 참여빈도와 참여기간을 독립변수로 한 분석에서 자원봉사의 영향력이 다른 요인들보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 네트워크와 대인신뢰에 대한 다중회귀모형에서는 중고령층의 자원봉사 참여빈도와 참여기간이 증가할수록 대인신뢰와 네트워크에 대한 인식이 긍정적인 영향을 받고 있다. 중고령층의 자원봉사 참여빈도와 참여기간이 대인신뢰, 기관신뢰, 네트워크, 호혜적 규범 등 사회적 자본에 미치는 영향을 다중회귀분석을 통해 분석한 결과 네트워크에 대해서만 두 가지 독립변수가 모두 유의미하게 긍정적 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다.
