노인의 건강상태가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Quality of Life in the Elderly's Health Condition

This study conducted a secondary analysis by using original data of <The Third Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2005> performed by Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs to determine factors affecting health-related quality of life for the elderly aged over 65 years living in Korea. The survey was conducted in 2005 and it evaluated totally 34,152 cases. Among them 3074 cases investigating the elderly aged over 65 years were selected for this study and finally 2036 cases were included in it by excluding cases with no answer or a wrong answer. The results were as follows. In the illness days, the average of the whole subjects was 11.05 days and it was longer when subjects were female and older, had lower educational background and lower family income, did not have spouses and jobs and were covered by medical aid as medical security. In the years of activity restriction, the average of the total subjects was 3.48 years and it was increased when they were older, had lower educational background and lower family income, did not have spouses, lived in detached houses and were covered by medical aid as medical security. Subjective health condition of the total subjects was 2.64 points out of 5 points in average. The scores were higher when subjects were male, younger, had better educational background, spouses, jobs and more family income, lived in multi-family living houses and were covered by corporate insurance as medical security. The average of total quality of life of the subjects was 2.61 points out of 3 points and it was found to be higher when subjects were male, younger, had better educational background, spouses, jobs and more family income and were covered by corporate insurance as medical security. It was decreased with higher illness days, higher years of activity restriction and lower subjective health condition. For the effects of the factors related to quality of life, subjective health condition showed the largest influence.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국에 거주하는 65세 이상 노인을 대상으로 건강상태가 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 한국보건사회연구원의 <2005년 국민건강영양조사 제 3기> 원 자료를 이용하여 이차 분석을 실시하였다. 한국보건사회연구원의 조사는 2005년에 실시되었고, 조사된 자료는 총 34,152건이었으며, 이중 65세 이상 노인을 대상으로 조사된 총 3,074건의 자료 중 무응답 항목이 있는 경우와 응답 오류가 있는 경우를 제외한 2,036건을 최종 분석대상으로 하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 삶의 질에서 전체 평균 삶의 질은 3점 만점에서 2.61점으로 나타났고, 남자일수록, 연령이 낮을수록, 교육수준이 높을수록, 배우자가 있을수록, 직업이 있을수록, 총 가구소득이 높을수록, 의료보장 종류가 사업장(직장)가입일수록 삶의 질이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이환일수가 높을수록, 활동제한 년 수가 높을수록, 주관적 건강상태가 나쁠수록 삶의 질이 낮은 것으로 나타났고 삶의 질에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 주관적 건강상태였다.
