산재장애인을 위한 임파워먼트 프로그램 개발 및 효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 산재장애인이 우울, 불안 및 심리적 좌절감 등을 극복하고 보다 긍정적인 자아 이미지로, 자신의 강점과 자원을 찾아 임파워링(empowering)될 수 있도록 돕는 집단프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 산재장애인에 대한 직접서비스를 제공하는 재활상담사들을 대상으로 포커스집단인터뷰를 실시하여 그 결과를 프로그램 개발에 반영하였으며, Miley 외(1995)의 임파워먼트 모델을 적용하여 요양환자용과 치료종결자용의 두 가지 유형으로 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 프로그램의 효과 검증을 위해 요양환자용과 치료종결자용 프로그램을 실험집단 11명, 통제집단 10명으로 구성된 연구대상자에게 실시하였다. 분석결과 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단의 임파워먼트 점수가 통제집단에 비해 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 특히 하위영역 중 자아 이미지 영역의 점수가 큰 폭으로 향상되어 개발된 프로그램이 산재장애인의 임파워먼트를 향상시키는데 매우 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 본 프로그램은 개별상담 중심의 산재장애인에 대한 개입을 집단사회복지실천으로 확대한 점, 임파워먼트에 대한 이론적 모델을 실제 집단프로그램으로 개발한 점, 산재장애인의 임파워먼트 수준을 향상시킨 점 등 그 실천적 함의가 크다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is about the development and effectiveness of the 'Empowerment Program' for the persons with disabilities caused by industrial accidents. The program was developed on the basis of the analysis of focus group interviews for the rehabilitation counselors who work with the persons with disabilities caused by industrial accidents. Also, it was based on Miley et al's empowerment model and the group social work practice. The goal of the program was to strengthen the level of empowerment and decrease emotional frustration for the persons with disabilities caused by industrial accidents. The program consisted of two different types: one for the hospitalized person and the other for the discharged person. The program practiced once a week for 6 weeks and 8 weeks by the choice of the rehabilitation counselors. In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, the participants included 11 persons for the experimental group and 10 persons for the control group. The empowerment scores of the two groups were estimated at the point of pre-test and post-test and were analysed through the Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann-Whitney U test. As the results of the analyses showed, there were significant differences in the increases in the areas of total empowerment and self-image as a sub-scale between the two groups.
In conclusion, the effectiveness of the program was confirmed. Also, it has been verified that the program can be an important social work practice tool for strengthening the empowerment level of the persons with disabilities caused by industrial accidents.
