노인차별경험이 자살생각에 미치는 영향과 절망과 우울의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인차별경험이 절망과 우울이라는 심리사회적 요인을 매개로 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 검증했다. 연구를 위해서 J시에 산재하며 무작위로 선정된 16개 경로당 이용노인을 편의 추출하였다. 회수된 설문지 309사례 중에 분석요건을 갖춘 291사례를 대상으로 빈도분석, 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 타당도 분석, 구조방정식을 이용한 확인요인분석과 구조회귀모형분석을 실시했으며, 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인차별경험은 자살생각에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 둘째, 노인차별경험은 인지차원의 절망과 정서차원의 우울에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 노인차별경험의 맥락에서 우울의 자살생각에 대한 정적인 영향이 확인되었다. 넷째, 노인차별경험은 절망과 우울을 매개로 자살생각에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 연구결과는 계층심화적 이념의 제어장치로 노인차별방지법과 정책이 필요함을 시사하고 있다. 또한 개인적인 수준에서 노인의 차별경험으로 인한 사후외상, 대처능력의 상실 등에 중재하는 방안을 마련해야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study empirically confirmed Korean elder`s ageism experience on suicidal thought and mediating effect of hopelessness and depression. To investigate causalities of factors, we conveniently collected 309 samples from 16 Gyungrodangs evenly scattered in J-city and 291 samples, satisfied analysis conditions, were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis and structural regression model analysis. Followed were the selected contributions of this study. First, the elderly`s ageism experience was a predictor of suicidal thought. Second, the elderly`s ageism experience was an antecedent of hopelessness and depression. Third, depression was a predictor of the elderly`s suicidal thought. Fourth, the elderly`s ageism experience was an antecedent of suicidal thought mediated by hopelessness and depression. The present study suggested our society needed control systems, against hierarchy enhancing ideology, such as ageism protection law and programs for intervening in the elderly`s suicidal thought affected by ageism experience.
