소집단 미술치료가 경도지적장애아동의 사회적 기술에 미치는 효과 = The Effects of Small-Group Art Therapy on the Social Skills of Children with Mild Intellectual Disability

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research was to study how small-group art therapy affects the social skills of children with mild mental retardation. The subjects in this study were two boys and one girl who are in the Second-Third grade of elementary school in A city. They were diagnosed with level-3 mild mental retardation and also received a SSRS (Social Skills Rating System) score between 22 and 33 and above 30 frequency. The researcher conducted a prior, concluding, and follow-up test based on the SSRS developed by Gresham and Elliott (1990), revised and translated by Hyang-ji Kim(1996) in order to evaluate the subjects’ social skills. The researcher set the baseline after 3 observation periods prior to the therapy and observed and video-taped the children as they used the play materials for a 20-minute period of free play. The results of the research are the following: The results of the Social Skills Rating System(SSRS), in which a prior, concluding, and follow-up test were conducted, showed increased scores in all subordinate aspects of social skills, such as cooperation, assertion, or self-control. The observation of behavior during free-play sessions throughout the baseline, beginning, middle, and ending periods indicated a general increase in the subordinate aspects of social skills, even though the frequency varied depending on the social skill.
