중학생의 사회적 유능성이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 미치는 영향 - 성별에 따른 조절효과분석을 중심으로 - = The Effects of Social Competence of Middle School Students on Their Self-Esteem and School Adjustment - Focused on the Analysis of Moderating Effects by Gender -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine the influence of social competence of middle school students on their school adjustment and the difference in the influence of their social competence on their self-esteem and school adjustment by gender and then suggest the related policies. The research problems examine if social competence factors affect self-esteem and school adjustment, its influential degrees show a difference by factors and there is a difference in its influence between male and female students. It was assumed that the influence of social competence of middle school students on their self-esteem and school adjustment showed difference depending on their gender. The present study examined the precedent studies and assumed that the social competence of middle school students affected their self-esteem and school adjustment. In addition, it was assumed that the influence of social competence of middle school students on their self-esteem and school adjustment showed differences according to their gender.
As a result of the research, it was found that problem-solving ability and self-efficacy which are the factors of social competence of middle school students had an influence on their self-esteem and school adjustment. It is considered that it is desirable to suggest concrete tasks of learning as a way of enhancing problem-solving ability and self-efficacy and practice this solution through the participation of classmates. It was found that self-esteem of middle school students affected their school adjustment. The self-efficacy as a factor of their social competence had the highest influence on self-esteem. Sense of purpose as a factor of social competence by gender had a differential influence on their school adjustment. It will be desirable for middle school students to set a goal and practice it. In particular, it is more important in male students. For this, self-directed learning ability of middle school students should be encouraged and motivation to make them set a goal and achieve it through voluntary activities is required.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생의 사회적 유능성이 학교적응성에 미치는 영향력을 규명하고, 중학생의 성별에 따라 사회적 유능성이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 미치는 영향력의 차이가 있는지를 밝혀 정책적 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 연구문제로 사회적 유능성 요인이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 영향을 주는가와 그 정도의 크기는 요인별로 차이가 있는가이다. 또한 남학생과 여학생 간의 영향력의 차이가 있는가이다. 선행연구를 검토하여 중학생의 사회적 유능성이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 가정하였다. 또한 중학생의 사회적 유능성이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 미치는 영향력이 중학생의 성별에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 가정하였다.
연구결과 중학생의 사회적 유능성인 문제해결력과 자기효율성이 자아존중감과 학교적응성에 영향력이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 문제해결력과 자기효율성을 높이는 방법으로 학습에 대한 구체적인 과제를 제시하고 이를 급우 간에 참여를 통한 해결방안을 모색 하는 것 등이 이루어지는 것이 바람직하겠다. 중학생의 자아존중감은 학교적응성에 영향력이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 중학생의 사회적 유능성인 자기효율성이 자아존중감에 가장 높게 영향력이 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 중학생의 성별에 따른 사회적 유능성에서는 목적의식이 학교적응성에 영향력의 차이가 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 중학생들에게 목표를 설정하고 이를 실천하는 것이 바람직하다. 특히 남학생들에게서 이는 매우 중요하다고 하겠다. 이를 위해서는 중학생들의 자기주도 학습능력을 적극적으로 유도해야하며, 중학생들의 자원봉사활동 등 자발적인 활동을 통하여 스스로 목표설정하고, 그 목표를 달성할 수 있게 동기부여를 하는 것이 필요하다.
