중학생의 내현적 자기애와 우울과의 관계: 자기비난과 수치심의 매개효과 = The relations between covert narcissism and depression for middle school students: Mediating effects of self-blame and shame

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was designed to investigate the relations between covert narcissism, depression, self-blame and shame for middle school students and to examine whether self-blame and shame would mediate in the relations between covert narcissism and depression. For the current, 358 male and female middle school students were recruited. Data were collected through administering covert narcissism, depression, self-blame and shame scale to participants and were analyzed by estimating descriptive statistics correlations and structural equation modeling. Results showed the followings: 1) there were significant positive correlations among covert narcissism, depression, self-blame and shame 2) covert narcissism showed full mediation effects on depression through self-blame. 3) relations between covert narcissism and depression were also mediated by a route from self-blame to shame. This study suggests that self-blame is a risk factor of depression for middle school students showing covert narcissism and also indicates that shame might precedes self-blame.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생의 내현적 자기애, 우울, 자기비난, 수치심과의 관계를 살펴보고, 내현적 자기애와 우울과의 관계에서 자기비난과 수치심이 매개변인으로 작용하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울지역에 재학 중인 남녀 중학생 358명을 대상으로 내현적 자기애 척도, 우울척도, 자기비난 척도, 수치심 경향성 척도를 각각 실시하여 자료를 수집하였고, 자료 분석을 위해, 기술 통계분석, 상관분석, 구조방정식모형 검증이 사용되었으며 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내현적 자기애와 우울, 자기비난, 수치심의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 변인들과의 관계는 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 자기비난이 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 수치심은 자기비난을 통하여 이중매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 내현적 자기애 성향을 가지고 있는 청소년이 우울해 하는데 있어 자기비난이 강력한 영향을 미치는 변인임을 시사해주고 있으며, 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 자기비난이 수치심에 선행한다는 인과관계를 검증하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 이러한 연구 결과들이 청소년 상담과정에 가지는 시사점과 제한점 그리고 추후연구를 위한 제언들에 대해 논의하였다.
