대학생의 내현적 자기애 성향이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향: 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과 = The Effects of Covert Narcissism on Interpersonal Problems of Undergraduate Students: The Mediation Effectiveness of Cognitive Emotional Regulation

The Effects of Covert Narcissism on Interpersonal Problems of Undergraduate Students : The Mediation Effectiveness of Cognitive Emotional RegulationThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among covert narcissism, interpersonal problems, cognitive emotional regulation and to verify the mediating effect of cognitive emotional regulation(consist of two dimension, adaptive and maladjustment) in the relation between the covert narcissism and interpersonal problems.
To examine the assumption above, the survey was conducted with female and male student 462 from universities that are located in Seoul and Seoul metropolitan area. The measurement scale consist of the – Covert Narcissism Scale, Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire, Short form of the Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex Scale.
The result indicated that both adaptive and maladaptive cognitive emotional regulation had statically significant partial mediation effect on relation between the covert narcissism and interpersonal problems. According to this study, covert narcissism have an direct effect on interpersonal problems and also this mean to experience more interpersonal problems by using maladaptive cognitive emotional regulation. Therefore it may give help to solve their interpersonal problems by utilizing adaptive cognitive emotional regulation.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 내현적 자기애와 대인관계문제, 인지적 정서조절전략간의 관계에 대해서 알아보고, 내현적 자기애와 대인관계문제의 관계에서 인지적 정서조절의 두 차원, 즉 적응적인 인지적 정서조절과 부적응적인 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 서울 및 수도권 소재 대학교에 재학중인 남․여학생 446명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 측정 도구로는 내현적 자기애 척도(Covert Narcissism Scale), 인지적 정서조절전략 질문지(Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire), 대인관계문제척도 단축형(Short form of the Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex Scale)이 사용되었다. 연구 결과, 내현적 자기애성향과 대인관계문제에서 인지적 정서조절전략의 적응적 전략과 부적응적 전략이 모두 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 보면, 내현적 자기애성향이 대인관계문제에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 이들이 사용하는 적응적 및 부적응적 정서조절전략으로 인해 대인관계문제를 더욱 많이 경험할 수 있는 것으로 생각된다. 따라서, 내현적 자기애성향자의 대인관계문제를 완화시키기 위하여 적응적 정서조절전략을 활용한다면, 이들이 사회적 상황에서 타인과 상호작용하는데 보다 긍정적인 역할을 하게 될 것이라고 기대한다.
