        김경순,김두화 제주대학교 직업능력개발원 2009 學生生活硏究 Vol.30 No.1

The purpose of this study is to analyze the career consciousness of Jeju university students and to provide basic materials which can help them to understand the career guidance as well counseling. The data was obtained through the survey asked a number of senior and junior students at Jeju university in December 2008. The information gathered, which resulted in 223 responses that have been used in the study, was analyzed by frequency using SPSS/PC 12.0 program. The results of this study are the following: First, we need to provide specific career information and practical education to help the student employment and to increase the interest of students in major by strengthening the major training course. Second, we need to provide specific and systematic career counseling system. Even though students have various ideas of their career, they do not effort any preparation to get their own job. To tell the truth, they do not have a mind of concrete career. They just collect some information related to the job or are interested in seeking information of career. Actually, they do not have enough confidence to get job because of lack of aptitude and desire about their career. Students do not have the necessary know-how for the employment, therefore they need to be offered systematic information from the university, which is requested the thoughtful consideration of finance and policy in order to quickly adjust themselves to their environment, character and interest. Third, various career counseling programs need to be developed and applied to each student to prepare an opportunity for employment according to their learning stages. The field of support needs to expand increase of job preparation education, English education, humanity or sociality programs, drawing up resume and the interview training course. Fourth, we need to develop various programs considering necessity and specific of each college. Fifth, it seems to be a different approach according to gender. Girls in university have been relatively eager to have job-seeking than boys. However, their preparation level and motivation are generally low. Colleges' career support system and organization utility have been uneffective because their programs have been not specified for women. It is important to offer various counsel and guidance to women. Sixth, a professor of college emphasized to increase career counsel with their students because it would give an important solution for students to have job-seeking. In addition, possible follow-up projects are proposed in the limitations of the study.

김경순 濟州大學校 職業能力開發院 2006 學生生活硏究 Vol.27 No.-

This study is intended to examine the notion of constituents of the psychological well-being which is suggested to measure the subjective quality of life. The survey for 400 students in Cheju National University has found that six factors - satisfaction, personal relationship, autonomy, purpose in life, maladjustment, and personal growth - are suitable for explaining the psychological well-being. Moreover, all of the three factors of the subjective well-being are most highly related with the satisfaction and maladjustment but the autonomy, purpose in life, and personal growth are least related. There is some difference in the autonomy for the psychological well-being between men and women. To men, satisfaction and maladjustment affect the psychological well-being most, but women are most affected by personal relationship in the psychological well-being. In the aspect of age, the statistics shows that there is meaningful difference in the autonomy and maladjustment for reality. This study has found that the constituents of the psychological well-being suggested by Ryff(1989) can not be fit to the Korean students.

        박종필,김두화 제주대학교 직업능력개발원 2009 學生生活硏究 Vol.30 No.1

The purpose of the survey is to collect basic data on freshmen in 2008 and to understand students' general matters, mental state, image and pride on the university for make substantial measures on academic affairs in Jeju National university. For the purpose of the study, the researcher composed a questionnaire (on students' current conditions, values, university life etc) based on earlier surveys and distributed and collected during the orientation period. 1986 students are answered the questionnaire and the results of the survey suggest that: First, it needs to increase the opportunities to participate in courses or programs for career guidance and counseling. According to the result, most students answered that their main concern or interest is 'getting a job' or 'entering a school of higher grade'. Also they answered that the reason to enter the university is to find more prospective job and 'getting a job' would be the most serious problems that they can expect to. Thus, to meet their needs, it needs to increase the opportunity to take psychological test, career guidance and counseling with close cooperation with other related university offices. Also, to do these functions well, the role of JNU Career Center should be extended. Second, the university needs to publish more advertising and promotional materials on the role of JNU Career Center. Few students answered that they would contact JNU Career Center when they need counseling. Thus considering these concerns and the importance of the role, it needs to advertise the role and functions of the JNU Career Center. Third, it needs to increase the opportunities and support students' oversea trainings. Most of the students, especially female students had positive images on the oversea training and these experiences are directly related with students' competitiveness in job markets. Thus, it needs to take supportive steps to collect sufficient fund for the oversea training. Fourth, it needs to support students who want to be a public official or teacher. Many students preferred to be a public officer or teachers, so that the university should take some measures to support these students. Also, it needs to strengthen the role of department on job or national examinations in the JNU Career Center. Fifth, the current strategy for university advertisement should be reappraised. Jeju National University holds several expositions for highschool graduates to advertise the university, but it revealed that these expositions are not effective because many students replied that they found useful information through their families and re1atives(42.5%), university's homepage(34.7%), highschool teachers(24.2%). Thus, the university should change current strategy based on exposition for highschool students and make more effective plans for advertising departments and the university. Finally, the university should consider the situation of students at the Teachers' College. Compared with those of other college, students' at the Teachers' College showed different trends and positions. Thus to help them to adjust new conditions resulted from the mergence, the university should give priority to them when making important decisions.

      • 제주도민의 우울증 예방과 치유 : 명상적 접근

        박태수 제주대학교 직업능력개발원 2009 學生生活硏究 Vol.30 No.1

The research theme focuses on the cognitive theory and intends to suggest that it is possible to reverse the negative thinking and dysfunctional beliefs of people with depression to a positive and functional one by practicing meditation. To support the possibility, the research aims to describe about the four themes to include: "What are symptoms of depression that can be recognized in our lives?", "Major causes of depression in the cognitive treatment", "Meditation can change the direction of depression energy.", and "A meditation approach to treat Jeju people's depression." People with depression have a negative attitude about one's self, one's future, and one's surroundings, and often enlarge and distort them. Depressed people develop a dark living mood and pessimistically expect bad things to happen. The depression is shown in the emotional, cognitive, kinetic, and physiologic stages and manipulates one's lives. The main causes of depression are somewhat varied based upon different theories. The psychoanalytic theory considers the anger that points to one's self in the world of unconsciousness. The behavioral theory views the cause as a loss of positive reinforcement. The cognitive theory points out negative thinking and the process of understanding. In the biological theory, it is caused from the excessive secretion of a monoamine neurotransmitter. In this research, the author considersthe dysfunctional beliefs developed in the schema as the main source of depression, and, thus, suggests a method to transform the dysfunctional beliefs into positive and functional ones. Depression causes self-abasement and exhausts energy as the dysfunctional thinking prevails. On the contrary, meditation helps to revitalize strength by controlling dysfunctional energy. Upright spine and sitting postures will help awaken consciousness and send energy freely to the brain. Conversely, poor posture and looking down tends to make one lethargic. When looking upwards, one can easily feel uplifted consciousness and inspiration. It is suggested that meditation be used to treat Jeju people who suffer from depression. When a depressed person meditates, one is more apt to openly talk about one's problems with depression. The awakening meditation breaks one's attitude to identify oneself with the habit of negative thinking. A person can learn how to admit and rid of negative feelings by acquiring the 'method of relating to one's inner self', a focusing method. Through meditation, depressed peoplecan relieve themselves of obsessions that emerge from such negative thoughts and feelings. They change the negativity of solitary talks with oneself into positivity as they finally realize the limitations of life. Finally the depressed people can learn to treat themselves in a more humane manner.
