This paper reviewed the concept of the energy flow in east and west. The differences in the views of the energy flow between oriental and western thought were comp aired according to the ontology- cal point of view. Human body take up energy and material on open system which maintains homeostasis. Human and environment are continyously interacting in a state of co-existence. Human has energy field called aura and seven chakra in energy outflow moving came as meridian. Qi is an invisible cosmic energy helping the fundamental human activity and changes. The basic ac- tion of Qi is helping the human growth and development, maintain the body temperature and prebent- ing the intrusion of microorganism. In the normal healthy organism, all are maintained in balance and in a continuous circulation of Qi, while illness is the result of the disturbed Qi flow in the aspect of Qi-theory. Although there are differences between oriental and western medicine in approaches to clients, the basic point of view and philosophy have many sim- ilarities on fundamental level. An understanding of the basic thought of energy flow and oriental con- cept of energy flow implies a more comprehensive meaning than the perspective of unitary transform- ation discussed in modern western thought of en- ergy flow. Now we should avoid narrow view of energy con- cept and regard energy flow as an integrated con- cept with Korean culture. Regarding Qi-theory which provides a comprehensive and humanistic and ethical foundation for nurding philosophy through this cverview, it is hoped that a contribution will be made to the development of nurding intervention which is suitable to Korean context.

Purpose: This phenomenological study aimed to identify breast cancer patients’ experience of unkindness of healthcare providers. Methods: Ten participants who were diagnosed with breast cancer were recruited to participate in the study and asked to share their experience related to healthcare providers. Data were analyzed using the phenomenological method of Colaizzi. In-depth interviews were conducted from November, 2014 to March, 2015. Results: Seven consistent categories and fourteen theme clusters emerged from collected data. The seven themes were ‘being treated thoughtlessly’, ‘not giving special services for breast cancer patients’, ‘cold and authoritative manner’, ‘incomplete explanation‘, ‘not accepting an appeal’, ‘being sorry for having short consultation hours’, and ‘unskilled and careless treatment’. Conclusions: It is needed to develop health care services in the view of beneficiaries. This may reduce the patients’ experience of unkindness of the healthcare providers and improve the satisfaction of health care service.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify changes in image of nurses of nursing students before and after their first clinical practice. Methods: The survey was performed to 60 nursing students in one university in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do. All participants had their first clinical practice for 8 weeks at four general hospitals in Seoul. The data were collected by questionnaires and were analyzed with frequency, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA using SPSS 19.0. Results: After the first clinical practice, the mean score (4.05±0.85) of the image of nurse was slightly higher than that of the image (4.03±0.93) before the clinical practice. However, there was no statistical significance in the scores between before and after the clinical practice (t=-0.55, p=.589). In four subcategories, before the first clinical practice, professional image was the highest followed by traditional, personal, and social image in order but after the clinical practice, professional image was the highest followed by traditional, social, and personal image in the mean scores of the image of nurse. Conclusion: The findings of the study may be a basis for expanding nursing practice and education related to image of nurse.
간호 대학생의 시뮬레이션 기반 자궁근종절제술 후 간호교육 프로그램 개발과 적용

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and apply simulation-based nursing education program for post-myomectomy care in nursing students. Methods: One group pre-post design was utilized. One hundred and thirty two participants consisting of 66 nursing students 132 participants consisting of 66 nursing students team were recruited. The data were collected from March 2 to June 12, 2015. Eight hours of simulation-based education program for post-myomectomy care was operated. Forty five items of Clinical Competence Assessment Scale was developed and content validity was tested using the content validity index. Results: The total score of Clinical Competence Assessment Scale was 90 and mean score of it was 82 (SD 4.2). The item showing the lowest mean score was ‘education for Foley catheter management’. Mean score of performance was 92.7%, education 90.2% and assessment 89.9% respectively. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it would be useful to use the simulation-based education program for post-myomectomy care for evaluating clinical performance in nursing students.

Purpose: This study was conducted to classify the subjective perception of college students on the role of parents and to identify the characteristics of each classified type. Methods: The Q methodology was used for this study interviewing 150 college student, 70 statements were derived as a result from interviews conducted among college students. Thirty seven final Q-statements were derived by categorizing the statements based on significant similarities. The Q-statements were sorted by 37 college students. The collected data was analyzed through PC QUANL. Results: The analyzed types resulted in 4 categories:“friend-like parents type,” “stability-oriented parents type,” “discipline and guidance parents type”, and “personality nurturing parents type .” Conclusion: The result of this study can be utilized for establishing a proper role and values of parenting. It can also contribute to designing an important educational material for parental education.
팀기반학습(Team-Based Learning)이 간호학생의 문제해결능력과 비판적사고 및 자기주도학습에 미치는 효과

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of team-based learning (TBL) program on problem solving ability, critical thinking disposition and self-directed learning in junior nursing students caring for patients with respiratory diseases. Methods: One-group pretest-posttest design was used. TBL program was carried out for 2 hours a week for 6 weeks. Data were collected by questionnaires from 167 nursing students from March 6 to June 5, 2013. Data were analyzed by paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: At the completion of TBL program, significant improvement was found in problem solving ability (t=-6.04, p<.001), critical thinking disposition (t=5.02, p<.001) and self-directed learning (t=5.96, p<.001). There was a significant positive correlation among problem solving ability, critical thinking disposition and self-directed learning. Conclusion: In conclusion, TBL is a useful teaching and learning method on nursing students. We suggest that it is needed to measure the educational effects of TBL against other teaching methods in the future studies.
영적 간호임파워먼트 프로그램이 간호대학생의 심리적 임파워먼트에 미치는 효과

Purpose: This study was conducted to test the effects of a spiritual care empowerment (SCE) program on the psychological empowerment for nursing students. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The participants were 80 nursing students (41 in the experimental and 39 in the control group) recruited from the D and S universities. The SCE program used in this study was developed based on the Zimmerman’s Psychological Empowerment Model. The experimental group attended 9 sessions of a SCE program. Sessions were 90 minutes each, held twice per week for 5 weeks. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher’s exact test, and t-test using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Intrapersonal (self esteem and existential well-being), interactional (empathy), and behavioral (spiritual care competence) components were significantly improved in the experimental group after the intervention compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results show that the SCE program could be effective in improving the psychological empowerment of nursing students. Accordingly, the SCE program would be applied to the nursing curriculum that enhances students’ psychological empowerment.
동서간호학 연구지 게재논문 분석을 통한 양한방 연구 동향 탐구

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze articles published in the Journal of East-West Nursing Research (JEWNR) to identify the current research status of East-West Nursing Research and recommend directions for future research. Methods: Using analysis criteria developed by the researchers, 104 articles published in JEWNR between 2009 and 2013 were reviewed. Results: 86.5% of the studies were quantitative, qualitative 3.85% and methodological research 9.61%. The majority of the quantitative research design was survey, 34.4% used experimental design. 62.5% of the experimental intervention was derived from Western nursing concept and 31.31% was from Eastern nursing concept. 40.6% of the research indicated that they have obtained verbal consent and 53.1% had written consent from the participants. The data collection settings were hospital (46.9%), school (26.0%) and community (25.0%). Conclusion: Both the number and quality of the published articles in the JEWNR has increased compared to the articles published between 2004 and 2008. Varied research methodologies and data analysis methods were utilized. Findings of this study indicate that strengthening peer review adhering to review guidelines will improve the quality of articles and promote the reputation of JEWNR as an international journal.
간호대학생의 대인관계, 자아존중감 및 자기효능감에 관한 연구

Purpose: This study was to examine the correlation among interpersonal relationship, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. Method: Design was descriptive correlative study, and subjects of this study were 353 persons who are students in nursing college. Measures were interpersonal relationship measurement (Cronbach`s alpha=.720), self-esteem measurement (Cronbach`s alpha=.731), and self-efficacy measurement (Cronbach`s alpha= .810). Data were collected from October, 2004 to January, 2005. Data were analyzed with SPSS PC+ on each aim of this study. Result: Findings were as followings. 1. In relationships among interpersonal relationship①, self-esteem②, and selfefficacy③ there were significant positive correlations (①②r=.526, p=000; ①③r=.443, p=000; ②③r= .556, p=000). 2. In differences of interpersonal relationship, self-esteem, and self-efficacy according to general characteristics there were significant differences in age, grade, satisfaction on credit, satisfied life in the University. Conclusion: Further needs nursing intervention to improve positively the interpersonal relationship that may effect on self-esteem and self-efficacy.
간호대학생의 건강정보 미디어 이용과 건강관심도가 건강증진행위에 미치는 영향

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the health information media use, health interest, and health promoting behaviors of nursing college students, and the influence factors of health promoting behaviors. Methods: Participants were 144 nursing students in D city. Data collection was conducted from August 21st to 30th, 2019. Data were collected with structured questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: There were positive correlations between the health information media use and health interest with health promoting behaviors. Factors affecting health promoting behaviors of nursing college students were grade, health information media use, and health interest, which explained 28.2% of the variance. Conclusion: Characteristics of nursing students should be taken into consideration to improve their abilities for screening of health and using correct health information. In addition, health promotion programs should be developed and implemented for increasing nursing students’ health interests.
