        Rapid growth in living standards and leisure time has increased the demand for leisure facilities, and concentration of cities and environmental pollution have created more demand for green space. Now people think of forestry more as the space for rest and leisure than as that for wood production, The demand for the forestry of the city people, who want to escape from the routine, has exploded and will continue to grow. Forestry Administration started to develop 'forest for recreation' in 1988. As of December 1999, it has designated about 176 places as forest for recreation, 83 of which have been already completed. The government mobilized the people in an unprecedented afforestation campaign to plant trees in the barren hills and mountains at the beginning of the national foundation. The successful campaign has brought dense woods back, Beautiful valleys and natural ecology have recovered its value as tourism resources. The natural forest for recreation has created variety of benefits for general public. It helps individuals to relax and thus increase productivity and living standard. It has helped to meet the demand for leisure not only as a place of out-door activity but as a place for nature exploration. It also helps to enhance the underdeveloped economy and cultural standard of remote isolated villages. Short history of recreation forest uncovered a lot of problems in the areas of development, management and operation, which requires urgent attention.

      • 포천 지역의 문화관광유적에 관하여 : 유교관광문화유적을 중심으로 On the Cultural Heritage for Tourism of Confucianism

        Po-cheon Area, which is located in the northeast of Kyunggi-Province, is the place with the wonderful natural view, since there are beautiful mountains and clear rivers. Also, the various cultural heritages of the area makes it a great tourist attraction. For example, there are many remains of the Korean War, because it was the divided district during the war. Po-cheon was where Confucian culture was prevalent, so there are many Confucian cultural heritages as well, such as the Private Academy and the Country Public School of Chosun Dynasty. This thesis will examine the work of Confucians in Po-cheon area during the mid 19th and the early 20th century, and the tourist resorts related to Confucian culture. First, the Confucian scholars who worked in the area will be investigated, such as Li, Hang-lo(1792-1868) from the Hua-seo confucian school, one of the confucian schools in Kyunggi-Province, and his students, Kim, Pyeung-muk(1819-91), Choi, Ick-hyeun(1833-1906), and Liu, Ki-i1. In addition, Chojong-am and Daebo-tan-Altar, the asylum of the scholars’ ideas and actions, and which the scholars considered as the holy place will be studied based on the field survey. Next, the Hua-seo confucian school in Po-cheon, and the patriotic acts of the scholars of the school will be investigated. Li, Hang-lo, the great master of the school, and Kim, Pyeung-muk, Choi, Ick-hyeun, and Liu, Ki-il gathered in Po-cheon, to see its scenic beauty, and to discuss learning and literature. They imprinted the poetry, writing, and their activities on the rock wall of rivers or cliffs. Those remains are very important materials for us nowadays. Liu, who had never been in the government service, thought his hometown, Komo-ri in Soheul-eup, as the Confucian utopia, and made the altar under a mountain to hold the memorial service for the Confucian saints. In Po-cheon, there are also Chungmok-tan-altar for Yoo, Ung-bu, one of the six martyred ministers; the private academy of Li, Hang-bok, the famous politician in Chosun Dynasty; Yang, Sa-eun(1517-84)’s literary footprints; the tomb for Li, Hae-jo, the progressive writer in the early 20th century. Therefore, Po-cheon not only has beautiful scenery but also many heritages for cultural sightseeing. As it is written above, the distinctive feature of the culture and tourism of Po-cheon area is not Buddhism or a King’s tomb, which can be easily found in other parts of Korea, but the heritage of Confucian culture such as private schools, country public schools, and the literary writings engraved on the rock. The cultural heritage discovered already should be well preserved, and there should also be some efforts to discover new cultural heritages. There are many remains related to Korean War as well. Thus, administrators of Po-cheon should care for, and publicize the cultural heritage to attract tourists.

      • 패밀리레스토랑 마케팅분석을 통한 경쟁력 강화 방안에 관한 연구

        Today’s society, eating means something different by itself than old days. It was just to satisfy hunger before but now it is one of the ways to enjoy and live life. There are various type of restaurants out there prove this. It is obvious that food service industry is closely related to our daily life. Especially, domestic food service industry has marked a quantum leap for the short period of time with the increase of GDP and economic development. In the comparison of its increasing number, it marks a small profit in the most case of small-medium sized business. Contrary to them, many of international franchise restaurants marked lots of profits and consolidated their presence in Korea. They presented high quality of service that is as good as five-star hotel service and they improved service level overall. Especially their customer-oriented service which has made their succession possible is the most important strategy that domestic business firm need to practice. The purpose of this thesis is to seek for ways to pursuit of domestic food service business, by researching and analyzing marketing strategies of international family restaurants. Also it is to improve its service to customers and manage its business more efficient and scientific. This thesis is based on theoretical and practical research by reviewing former research data, thesis and related journal and inspecting both world-wide and domestic business. Also, it gathered tremendous data from the Internet and analyzed it by franchise. Below is the conclusion from the research. First of all, we need to classify target market more in detail and introduce different service to different market that hit their spot. Second of all, we need entertainment that will give our customers a enjoyable time while their staying. As I mentioned it earlier, eating is not just to fulfil hunger, but to enjoy and live life. Third of all, tastes are varies from person to person. They experienced various type of foods and flavors already and now they expect something new and delicious. We need to develope and introduce new foods to meet their needs. Fourth of all, we need to train employees to serve better to our customers. This will be accomplished by building their confidence as a service provider and educating them constantly and professionally. Fifth of all, we need to seek ways to overcome its small profits and nonprofessional management by collaborating with the same business type or different. By that, we can expect to expand our business more successfully and have more of market share. Also, it will be essential to use Internet that is worldly wired and to adopt state of the art technology to meet changing customers needs. Like our food service industry had made a remarkable development ever since we held ’88 Olympic games, we see a bright future of the industry with a upcoming "2002 worldcup". There already are famous international franchise preparing for their presence here in Korea. We have to admit they introduced us advanced management skills and contributed a lot in the development of food industry but at the same time, domestic food service business need to be prepared to succeed in the competition not only by expanding its business in numbers, but by finding their own know-how and providing quality services to customers.

Moreover, The growing popularity of strategic alliances, partnership marketing, and co-branding efforts is further evidence of travel marketers' pursuit to lower transaction costs by lowering marketing costs.

      • 지방자치단체의 관광이벤트사업에 대한 탐색적 연구 : 광주·전남지역을 중심으로 forcused on Gwangju city · Jeonnam province

        With the age of local autonomy, the tourism-event(festival) is actively utilized as the one of strategies to vitalize the region. So, the importance and effectiveness of the tourism-event has been revaluated, new tourism-event has been developed to maximize the effectiveness of local vitality, and the existent festival program has been reorganized for the better performance. The objective of this study were to examine the relationships of improving the image of local culture and vitalizing the local tourism business, and attracting tourist with the local development. The sample of the research was explored by local tourism-events such as "Yeongam WANG-IN Culture Festival", "Jindo Yeongdeung Festival", "Gangjin celadon Culture Festival", and "Gwangju Kimchi Festival" which were held in Gwangju·Jeonnam and were sponsored by the Korea National Tourism Organization. The results of this study may suggest useful management implications for tourism-event.

        본 논문은 고객이 각이 접하는 실질적 품질 그리고 사회파급효과를 포함한 질적 성장과 규모와 단위의 양적성장을 이뤄가고 있는 국제호텔산업에서 전개되고 있는 새로운 변화와 경영상의 특성들을 정리 분석하고 미래에 전개될 산업패턴을 논하고 있다. 오늘날 호텔경영은 과거의 경영환경에서 경쟁우의를 접했던 경쟁방법(competitive methods)으로는 현재와 미래를 열어갈 수 없다. 본 논문은 현재 호텔산업을 구성하고 디자인하여 산업내에 수많은 기회를 제공할 경쟁방법중에 내용분석(content Analysis)를 통해 도출되는 고빈도 고객에 대한 프로그램, 청정환경을 추구하는 Green Program, 다양한 스포츠, 엔터테인먼트 프로그램과의 조합, 채식주의자들에 대한 주의, 12단계 서비스 프로그램, 새로운 정보기술을 통한 경쟁방법 극대화 방안들을 정리 제시하고 있다. 이러한 새로운 현상들을 주의깊게 관찰함으로써 새로운 기회포착과 경쟁우의를 접하는 것을 논하고 있다.

      • 消費者 情報提供手段으로서의 食品表示制度 評價 및 發展方案

        The objective of this study was to manifest the food labelling system that would be of help to consumers’ efficient decision making on food labelling. Out of the contents of the labelling standard of food, etc., recently revised by Notification No. 2000-36 of Korea Food &rug Administration, several mooted points were raised of the type of food, the date of manufacture, the term of distribution, ingredients, raw materials, content, etc. Despite these mooted points of the labelling system of food and so forth, the current regulations of the labelling standard of food and so on plays a substantial role in fulfilling the needs of the most important factors in the labelling regulations from the perspective of the protection of consumers and communication, such as the description of nutritive substances, notabilias, cautions and validity of inferior foods degenerated in the process of distribution by regulating false or exaggerated advertisements, along with intention of prevention of misuse and abuse of foods. As a result, the present study revealed results out of the inquiries into the evaluation of and improvements in the labelling system of food as a communications medium, as follows: First, the nutrients that are stipulated to be included in food labelling are confined to calory, carbohydrate, protein, fat and natrium. However, the description of essential nutritive substances as a communications medium that are closely related to frequently invaded diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipemia, cerebrovascular diseases, etc. in consideration of their frequency of invasion. Furthermore, as regards the nutritive substances to be included in labelling in relation to the recommended quantity of nutrition per day is limited to vitamin and inorganic substances, which also raise the mooted points that they contain a narrow range of nurients and that the recommended quantity of nutrition should be considered according to the invasion of diseases on consumers. In consequence, it is needed to develop and supply computer programs of the contents of nutrients, expand research projects in compliance with consumers’ diet, provide more public relations of the labelling of nutritive ingredients and supply guiding leaflets and then gradually ameliorate systems and regulations of the labelling of nutritive substances. Second, the labelling of notabilias and cautions as a communications medium awakens consumers a sense of terror or a sense of awakening to provide for dangerous cases on the consumers, serving as one of the most important labelling factors to protect the health and lives of consumers by rationally making choice of food. This regulations may be referred to as a prior or a posterior system that can actively protect harmful elements to consumers by the emergence of the food recall system and the product liability law. Therefore, besides the obligatory labelling of notabilias and cautions of food under the food hygiene law, it is necessitated to revise the related law so that it should include all the factors that may do harm to consumers and get to extend the regulation of labelling notabilias and cautions currently applied to part of foods to all. In addition to it, it is recommended for the government and enterprises to prepare compound and comprehensive measures against it to enhance the reliability of foods for consumers. Third, labelling the length of storage of foods consists of the date of manufacture and that of validity. The former only manifests the date at which a food was made but does not show till what time its quality is maintained, while the latter does not know the date of manufacture and the elapse of time but represents how long its quality can last. Today the government is gradually implementing the autonomous establishment of the term of distribution but the mere description of it has its limits. In consequence, when we take into account the fact that almost all the food enterprises are small in scale and weak in their distribution structure, on a short term basis we are in need of the government support to medium and small food companies, the security of consumers’ reliability on the information of the labelling of the term of distribution, the practice of an awarding system of resident reports of illegal and inferior foods, the operation of a fluctuated price system of validity-overdue foods, extended practice of a food bank for the purpose of efficient management of food materials, and on a long term basis the introduction of a pluralistic validity labelling system which can be harmonized with that of advanced countries.

      • 2000 세계 도자기 프레엑스포에 관한 연구

        Local autonomous entities have tried to activate the economy by hosting various festivals taking advantage of their images to create their own identity, promoting the pride of the inhabitants, building the infrastructure, induce the productive effect and develop the tourist resources. The festivals are, however, not systematically organized without the active public participation. Most of them have not been used as a means of successful area development as they are make-shift events. But the 2000 world ceramics pre-expo, the subject of this study, has been regularly held for a relatively long period in Ichon, Yoju and Kwangju. The questionnaire found that the festival was successful with active public participation, effective creation of local images and great contributions to the local economy. In spite of the success of the festival, it has many urgent problems to solve; uniformity of the programs, lack of financial independence, shortage of experts and improper policies. Korea is rich in resources for local festivals with great potential of developing cultural products. The only problem is the lack of creative ideas translating the potential into reality. Local authorities have been recognizing the problem. They blindedly follow western examples without considering their own history and reality All they need is to develop idea and strategies to preserve uniqueness of their culture, contributing to the local economy at the same time. Finally, the citizens should have the initiative in all areas of the festival in order for the festival to be successful. The inhabitants actively change their own living space into more positive area with their own creative will and effort. If they produce diversity, identity and creativity, the festivals would become more meaningful.

      • 특급호텔의 전자상거래를 중심으로 한 정보환경 분석

        This is a study on the information environment of first-class hotels with the focus on their commercial interaction through electronic network. The development of the Internet has facilitated the access of customers for interactions like hotel room reservation. This study has surveyed the present state of commercial interaction through the Internet for first-class hotels located in Seoul. The change of profit and the effect on the off-line interaction after the change of the reservation system have been surveyed. This study shows the relationship between the ever-changing information environment in e-commerce and the hotel information system and suggests some alternatives utilizing information technology for the enhancement of competition of hotels.
