In attempt to lead compounds exhibiting both insecticidal and fungicidal activities, a series of O-benzyl oximeether derivatives were designed and synthesized by introducing β-methoxyacrylate pharmacophore into a scaffold. The insecticidal activity against Aphis fabae and the fungicidal activity against Erysiphe graminis were screened. The title compounds exhibited remarkable insecticidal and fungicidal activities. The most potent compound 6d was identified. Its insecticidal LC50 against A. fabae is 6.4 mg/L, which is lower than that of chlorfenapyr (19.4 mg/L) and even close to the level of imidacloprid (4.8 mg/L). Its fungicidal EC90 in preventive and curative treatment against E. graminis are 2.2 and 4.8 mg/L, respectively, which are lower than azoxystrobin (7.0 and 5.9 mg/L). These results indicate that compound 6d can be considered as a lead for further developing new O-benzyl oxime-ether typed candidates with both fungicidal and insecticidal activities.

A new experimental technique was developed on the plate-inserted welded tubular joints of spatial grid structures. In the experimental technique, a microcomputer controlling instrument of moire intervention (MCIMI) was adopted. A test was designed on the plate-inserted welded tubular joints of spatial grid structures to show the effectiveness of the MCIMI technique. Both traditional electrical measuring technique and MCIMI technique were employed in the test. The test results showed that the MCIMI technique was feasible in the case of the complicated tests on steel structures. The MCIMI technique not only implemented the limitation of traditional electrical measuring technique, but also improved the accuracy of the test. According to the test results, we further examined the plate-inserted welded tubular joints in the cable-stayed spatial grids of the Binhai International Convention & Exhibition in Tianjin, China. The analysis showed the joints are safely designed with adequate conservatism. The research provided a new application of MCIMI in the field of large-scale structure engineering.

Tools are the most vulnerable components in milling processes conducted using numerical control milling machines, and their wear condition directly influences work-product quality and operational safety. As such, tool wear estimation is an essential component of NC milling operations. This study addresses this issue by proposing an extreme learning machine (ELM) method enhanced by a hybrid genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization (GAPSO) approach for conducting tool wear estimation based on workpiece vibration signals. Here, a few feature parameters in the time, frequency, and time–frequency (Ensemble empirical mode decomposition, EEMD) domains of the workpiece vibration signals are extracted as the input of the ELM model. Then, the initialized weights and thresholds of the ELM model are optimized based on the GAPSO approach with training dataset. Finally, tool wear is estimated using the optimized ELM model with testing dataset. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by its application to vibration signals collected from two milling tool wear experiments (an open-access benchmark dataset and a milling tool wear experiment) by comparison to the ELM, GA-ELM, and PSO-ELM methods. The results indicate that the estimation accuracy and optimization efficiency of the proposed method outperforms that of other three methods.

We report on magnetotransport results for an Al0.15Ga0.85N/GaN high-electron-mobility-transistor structure grown on a p-type Si (111) substrate. Our results show that there exists an approximately temperature (<i>T</i>)-independent point, which could be ascribed to a direct transition from a weak insulator to a high Landau level filling factor quantum Hall state, exists in the longitudinal resistivity ρxx. The Hall resistivity decreases with increasing <i>T</i>, compelling experimental evidence for electron-electron interaction effects in a weakly-disordered two-dimensional (2D) system. We find that electron-electron interaction effects can be estimated and eliminated, giving rise to a corrected nominally temperature-independent Hall slope. By fitting the low-field magnetotransport data to conventional 2D weak localization theory, we find that the dephasing rate 1/τφ is proportional to <i>T</i>. Moreover, 1/τφ is finite as <i>T</i> → 0, evidence for zero-temperature dephasing in our system.

Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease that causes animal and human diseases. Vaccination is a major measure for prevention of brucellosis, but it is currently not possible to distinguish vaccinated animals from those that have been naturally infected. Therefore, in this study, we constructed the Brucella (B.) abortus 2380 wbkA mutant (2308DwbkA) and evaluated its virulence. The survival of 2308DwbkA was attenuated in murine macrophage (RAW 264.7) and BALB/c mice, and it induced high protective immunity in mice. The wbkA mutant elicited an anti-Brucella-specific immunoglobulin G response and induced the secretion of gamma interferon. Antibodies to 2308DwbkA could be detected in sera from mice, implying the potential for use of this protein as a diagnostic antigen. The WbkA antigen would allow serological differentiation between infected and vaccinated animals. These results suggest that 2308DwbkA is a potential attenuated vaccine against 16M. This vaccine will be further evaluated in sheep.

The Korean began to migrate to Beijing from 1876. After Japan invaded Korea in 1910, Koreans including political fugitives more and more migrated to Beijing and the Korean independent movement there had mushroomed since then. The Korean independent movement in Beijign could be divided into the nationalist movement and the communist. The nationalist movement in 1920s could also be divided again into prophase and anaphase. In the prophase, we should pay attentions to the Park Yong Man's activities, and in the anaphase, we should pay attentions to the movement of establishing the Great Independent Party. One of the main features of the Korean communist movement is that it was propagandistic. The Korean communists in Beijing had issued many publications. Especially, Heymyong and Dobao had been popular for a long time. And these publications had been distributed not only in Beijing, but also in Northeast China, Russia, Japan and Korea. They propagandized communism and called for realizing Korean independence in the revolutionary and enlightened means.

Twenty natural compounds isolated fromtraditional Chinese medicines were examined for theirantiviral activities against PCV2 in vitro. Antiviral activitywas analyzed by the assays of blocking of virus entry, inhibition of virus replication and inactivation of virusparticles in the virus suspension. 50% cytotoxic concentration(CC50) and 50% effective concentration (EC50) for eachcompound were determined by using the MTT method andimmunofluorescence assay (IFA), respectively. The resultsobtained from the inhibition of virus replication andinactivation of virus particles showed that the maximuminhibition rates for matrine and scutellarin were 57 and72.69% and their SI were 29.87 and 18.66, respectively. However, the results from the assays of inhibition of virusentry and inhibition of virus replication demonstrated thatboth aesculetin and arecoline hydrochloride stimulatedPCV2 replication, with the maximum stimulation rate of387.3 and 219.4%. In summary, both matrine and scutellarinhad antiviral activity against PCV2, while aesculetin andarecoline hydrochloride promoted PCV2 infection replicationin vitro.

The molecular mechanisms involved in the progression of clear cell renal cell carcinomas (ccRCCs) are still unclear. The aim of this study was to analyse the relationships between expression of RALYL and clinical characteristics. In 41 paired samples of ccRCCs and adjacent normal tissues, we used real-time qPCR to evaluate the expression of RALYL mRNA. RALYL protein levels were determined in 146 samples of ccRCC and 37 adjacent normal tissues by immunohistochemistry. Statistical analysis was used to explore the relationships between expression of RALYL and the clinical characteristics (gender, age, tumor size, T stage, N stage, M stage, survival times and survival outcome) in ccRCC. In addition, these patients were follow-up period 64 months (range: 4~116months) to investigate the influence on prognosis. We found significantly differences between ccRCC tissues and normal tissues (p<0.001, paired-sample t test) in mRNA levels of RALYL. Immunohistochemistry analyses in 146 ccRCC samples and 37 adjacent normal tissues showed significantly lower RALYL protein levels in ccRCC samples (${\chi}^2$-test, p<0.001), inversely correlating with tumour size (p=0.024), T stage (0.005), N stage (p<0.001) as well as M stage (p=0.019), but not age (p=0.357) and gender (p=0.348). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis demonstrated that people with lower level of RALYL expression had a poorer survival rate than those with a higher level of RALYL expression, significantly different by the log-rank test (p=0.011). Cox regression analysis indicated that RALYL expression (p=0.039), N stage (p=0.008) and distant metastasis (p<0.001) were independent prognosis factors for the overall survival of ccRCC patients. We demonstrated that the expression of RALYL was significantly low in ccRCC and correlated with a poor prognosis in a large number of clinical samples. Our findings showed that RALYL may be a potential therapeutic target as well as a poor prognostic factor.
