We investigated the therapeutic potential of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell-conditioned medium (BMSC-CM) on immortalized renal proximal tubule epithelial cells (RPTEC/ TERT1) in a fibrotic environment. To replicate the increased stiffness characteristic of kidneys in chronic kidney disease, we utilized polyacrylamide gel platforms. A stiff matrix was shown to increase α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) levels, indicating fibrogenic activation in RPTEC/TERT1 cells. Interestingly, treatment with BMSC-CM resulted in significant reductions in the levels of fibrotic markers (α-SMA and vimentin) and increases in the levels of the epithelial marker E-cadherin and aquaporin 7, particularly under stiff conditions. Furthermore, BMSC-CM modified microRNA (miRNA) expression and reduced oxidative stress levels in these cells. Our findings suggest that BMSC-CM can modulate cellular morphology, miRNA expression, and oxidative stress in RPTEC/TERT1 cells, highlighting its therapeutic potential in fibrotic kidney disease.

Infrared (IR) target detection is one of the key technologies in Automatic Target Detection/Recognition (ATD/R) for military applications. However, IR sensors have limitations due to the weather sensitivity and atmospheric effects. In recent years, sensor information fusion study is an active research topic to overcome these limitations. SAR sensor is adopted to sensor fusion, because SAR is robust to various weather conditions. In this paper, a Boolean Map Visual Theory-Morphology (BMVT-M) method is proposed to detect targets in SAR and IR images. Moreover, we suggest the IR and SAR image registration and decision level fusion algorithm. The experimental results using OKTAL-SE synthetic images validate the feasibility of sensor fusion-based target detection.

랜덤워크는 다양한 분야에서 랜덤현상을 기술하는데 이용되고 있으나, 현재까지 개발된 랜덤워크 검정법에는 유의수준 왜곡과 낮은 검정력 등의 문제가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 문제점들을 개선하기 위해 Kim 등 (2014)은 부호검정에 기초한 랜덤워크 검정 (${\rho}=1$)방법을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 보다 개선된 랜덤워크 검정법을 제안하고자 부호검정보다 검정력이 우수한 것으로 알려진 윌콕슨 부호순위검정을 이용한 랜덤워크 검정법을 제안하고, 모의실험을 통해 부호검정, 윌콕슨 부호순위검정, 확장 Dickey-Fuller 검정의 성능을 비교하였다. 모의실험 결과 소표본에서 비모수 검정기법들이 ADF 검정보다 우월하다는 사실을 재확인하였다. 새롭게 밝혀진 사실은 부호검정이 윌콕슨 부호순위검정에 비해 높은 검정력을 가지며, 또한 비모수 검정기법들은 ${\rho}$가 양의 부호를 가지는 경우 (0 < ${\rho}$ < 1) 정규분포보다 이중지수분포에서 낮은 검정력을 가지게 되나, ${\rho}$가 음의 부호(-1 < ${\rho}$ < 0)를 갖는 경우에는 정규분포보다 이중지수분포에서 높은 검정력을 보인다는 사실이다. Random walk is used for describing random phenomenon in various areas but tests for random walk developed so far are known to suffer from size distortion and low power. Kim et al. (2014) proposed a sign test for unit root (${\rho}=1$) hypothesis based on slopes. This article proposes a Wilcoxon signed rank test based on slopes for unit root hypothesis, and compares it with the augmented Dickey-Fuller test and the sign test by a simulation study. Our results confirm that the nonparametric tests are better than ADF test for small samples like n = 30. The results also show that the sign test is better than the Wilcoxon signed rank test and that for 0 < ${\rho}$ < 1 (-1 < ${\rho}$ < 0), the nonparametric tests suffer from power loss (improvement) as normal error changes to double exponential error.

인공지능(AI) 교육에 대한 전 세계적 열기가 뜨거운 가운데, 우리나라에서는 AI 인재를 양성하기 위한 교육정책을 제시하였고 교육현장과 학계에서는 초등학생들부터 시작하는 AI 교육과정과 교육 자료를 제시하고 있다. 하지만 초등학교에서 교사들이 수업에 직접 활용할 수 있는 교수학습자료는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 초등 교사들이 효과적으로 AI 교육을 할 수 잇도록 프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 교육 프로그램은 이론과 실습을 포괄하는 구성이며 AI의 윤리적인 이슈까지 포괄할 수 있도록 내용을 구성하였다. 학생들은 본 프로그램을 통하여 AI를 체험하고, AI의 원리에 대해 학습하며 블록코딩을 통한 실습을 할 수 있으며 교사들이 현장에서 바로 활용할 수 있도록 지도안과 활동 예시들을 함께 제공하였다.

We surveyed attendee at TKM Information Common Application Committee who are the chairman of TKM journals, the dean of oriental medicine colleges and the head of oriental medicine institutes. We analyzed the survey results to activate OASIS and to more utilize OASIS in TKM research. From the analysis, the experts predict that TKM literature information and combined search connected to internal/external TM database are most applicable to OASIS. If the contents and functions are provided in OASIS, experts said that they will use more 2.2 times than now. We drew the future plan of OASIS from the 2 survey analysis which are conducted by OASIS users and TKM experts. It is made up 6 kinds of strategies such as core business model, data, meta-data and etc. Because this study has surveyed the TKM authoritative experts for the future plan of OASIS, it is significant study to get objective indices.

Objectives: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to summarize current evidence regarding the association of parity and duration of breastfeeding with the risk of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Methods: A systematic search of relevant studies published by December 31, 2015 was performed in PubMed and EMBASE. A random-effect model was used to obtain the summary relative risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: Thirty-two studies had parity categories of 1, 2, and ${\geq}3$. The summary RRs for EOC were 0.72 (95% CI, 0.65 to 0.79), 0.57 (95% CI, 0.49 to 0.65), and 0.46 (95% CI, 0.41 to 0.52), respectively. Small to moderate heterogeneity was observed for one birth (p<0.01; Q = 59.46; $I^2=47.9%$). Fifteen studies had breastfeeding categories of <6 months, 6-12 months, and >13 months. The summary RRs were 0.79 (95% CI, 0.72 to 0.87), 0.72 (95% CI, 0.64 to 0.81), and 0.67 (95% CI, 0.56 to 0.79), respectively. Only small heterogeneity was observed for <6 months of breastfeeding (p = 0.17; Q = 18.79, $I^2=25.5%$). Compared to nulliparous women with no history of breastfeeding, the joint effects of two births and <6 months of breastfeeding resulted in a 0.5-fold reduced risk for EOC. Conclusions: The first birth and breastfeeding for <6 months were associated with significant reductions in EOC risk.

<P>C<SUB>20</SUB> heptaenyl diphosphonate <B>4</B> was prepared for one-pot synthesis of carotenoids <B>1</B>. Olefination with various aromatic aldehydes allowed fast assembly of the corresponding carotenoids. The SAR of carotenoids was investigated by high-throughput screening of ABTS and DPPH assays and their hierarchical clustering analysis. Antioxidant activity of carotenoids increased with the number of electron-donating substituents. Carotene <B>1a</B> with multiple electron-donating substituents was most proficient, which showed better radical scavenging activities than β-carotene and lycopene.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

This study proposed to develop a phantom material that can represent the various contrasts of both MRI and CT images and is available to use in MRI-guided radiation treatment. Materials used for making a phantom that can be used for both MRI and CT image were agarose (T2 modifier), gadolinium-based contrast agent (T1 modifier), sodium uoride (CT number modifier), and distilled water. They were mixed at various composition ratios and stirred until transparent. For the relationship between the ingredients and values, 48 samples were manufactured at various composition ratios. The relationship was expressed as equations, to be able to get the composition ratios of organs that we wanted to make. MR relaxation times were measured using 1.5 T MRI equipment. CT scans were performed at 120 kVp and extracted CT numbers from images. Based on the fitted equations derived from the relationship between ingredients and values, materials were manufactured using the composition ratio of human organs; brain (white and gray matter), liver, spleen, kidney, and prostate. The all values were within the reference range, but some exceeded the range due to the image noise. A phantom composed of substitutes made from the derived equations added other substances of different density like bone or lung can be used as an inhomogeneity dose calculation phantom for both CT and MRI. Furthermore, it can be applied to MRI-only based RTP systems and MRI-guided radiation treatment QA in the future.
