      • 한국 자의식 소설의 작중인물 연구 : Specially with Reference to the Works of Choi, Myung-Ik 崔明翊 작품을 중심으로

        Characters in the novel are created through the combination of the novelists's creativity and his milieu he lives in. Therefore they are the novelist's other self and the projections of his society as well. From this viewpoint the writer of this thesis attempted to bring to light the works of Choi Myung-Ik against the past social background of Korea under the Japanese rule. The conclusions derived are as follows: 1. The background and the atmosphere of Choi's novels coincide with the dark, gloomy and melancholic air of the colonial days. These elements no doubt affected the characterization in his novel. 2. The discrepancy between the intellectual level of the characters in the novel and their standard of living is enormous. This hisharmony persisting in their high intellectual pursuit ('high though') and their privation ('low living') bring about the characters' neurotic symptoms of anxiety, melancholy, helplessness and alienation. This may be said to have reflected the general atmosphere of the intelligentsia of those depressed age. 3. The consistent use of the Chinese character '-'(meaning 'first, foremost, supreme' etc.) in the first names of the characters seems to suggest the elitist sense of the intelligentsia in spite of their 'low living'. This also reflects one of the distinctive qualities the 'self-conscious' characters possess, which, accordingly, must be interpreted as one of the important aspects of the intelligentsia of those days. 4. The subjective viewpoint (that is, the omnipotent viewpoint of the writer and the first person viewpoint) is employed throughout to describe the inner world of the 'self-conscious' characters. 5. The common features of the protagonists can be said to be the neurotic symptoms which come from the complex factors, such as the environment, the intellectual level, the standard of living and the viewpoint of the characters. The most not able of these symptoms are anxiety neurosis and depressive newrosis.

        식민시대 지식인, 유상규(劉相奎)의 삶의 궤적

        Many of the Korean intellectuals resisted against suppression of Japanese Imperialism with the people during the Japanese occupation period. Ryu Sang-Kyu was also one of those intellectuals. Ryu Sang-Kyu was born in Gang-gye of North Pyongan-do on 10th November, 1897. He entered Keijo Medical College as one of the first entering students in 1916. However, at the end of his third year, he participated in the 3·1 Independence Movement of Korea and was suspended from the college which was run by the Japanese on account of his participation. Then moving to Shanghai, he joined Heung Sa Dan(興士團), an active patriotic group fighting for independence of Korea. He initiated the provisional government of Korea as a network investigator and he played second string to Ahn Chang-Ho(安昌浩), one of major Korean independence activists for four years. In 1923, following Ahn Chang-Ho’s advice, he returned to Keijo Medical College to complete the course. Even in colonial Korea, he continued independence movement and was involved in Dong Woo Hoe(同友會), the branch of Heung Sa Dan in Korea. After the graduation of Keijo Medical College in 1927, he had served at the department of surgery in Keijo Medical College. In 1930, he participated in founding of the Korean Medical Association(朝鮮醫師協會). He also raised public awareness by writing to many articles on hygiene and public health issues in public journals and newspapers. In short, he did his best as an intellectual, a medical doctor, an activist of independence movement until he died from streptococcal infection on 7th July, 1936.

        The B-ISDN(Broadband-Integrated Service Digital Network) transports various multimedia information effectively. So optical switching networks which consist of optical transmission links and photonic switching systems are noticeable as a way of a large capacity communication. In this paper. we propose optical packet switching networks which will be used as the backbone network of national high speed communication networks which are operated a way of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode). The B-ISDN transport networks are composed of two-layered networks such as regional networks and a backbone network. The regional network is a n average ATM transport network. The optical backbone network gathers fixed length of several AThI cells which come from regional networks. attaches an optical header. and completes an optical packet, And then the network switches and transports with high speed. That is. the backbone network is a transparent optical packet network. The passing speed of signal in the photonic switch is rapid, but the switching speed is limited and the processing speed of the switching controller which consists of electronic circuit is limited. So the optical packet which consists of multi-ATM cells is able to overcome it in the optical backbone network. The performance evaluation by the computer simulation shows us the efficiency of the proposed way of optical packet switching.

        The Frog in Specimen Room is generally said to be the first work of naturalism in Korea. However, I want to call this work a novel of self-consciousness in addition. The reason is that the persons in it have the characters full of self-consciousness. In have attempted, with the help of characterology, to analyze in detail those persons. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. The person "I" has neurotic character, more precisely, phobic neurotic character. 2. The person "Kim Chang-euk" has immature character; that is, schizoid personality and paranoid personality. Furthermore he is given to sexual perversion. The fact that such persons that have so strong self-consciousness have been created is due to the historical situation of Japaneses oppression and the humiliation felt by the persons. In such circumstances, the writer could not but create persons full of self-consciousness who are autistic and live in seclusion.

      • 자외선 차단 소재가 착용자의 온열쾌적성에 미치는 영향 : Effects of UV protective materials on the Wearer's Thermal Comfort

        In this research, the thermal comfort and thermophysiological reactionses of the subjects were analyzed and compared when the young men wore the 2 types of clothing combination which made of two types of men's suit(general material, uv protective material) in a hot environments. The wear tests were performed in clomatic chamber controlled 27℃ air temperature, 50±10%RH and 0.5m/s air movement. Five healthy young men participated in this experiment. The experiment schedule was planned 3 steps, that is, sedentary posture during 20 minutes - walking on treadmill by 2.5mph during 10 minutes - sedentary posture during 20 minutes. The results obtained is as follows; ①The mean temperature was lower in the case T1 than in the case T2(P<.001). ②The oral temperature. sBP, HR. subjective sensations were not significant. ③The microclimate temperature within clothing was lower in T1 than in T2(P<.001) . The microclimate humidity within clothing was lower in T2 than in T1 (P<.05 over).

        적외선열화상장치를 이용한 Buchanan plugger 표면의 온도상승 분석

        This study was performed to evaluate the temperature rise on various position of the Buchanan plugger, the peak temperature of plugger's type and the temperature change by its touching time of heat control spring. The heat carrier system 'System B' (Model 1005. Analytic Technologies, USA) and the Buchanan's pluggers of F, FM, M and ML sizes are used for this study. The temperature was set to 200℃ which Dr. Buchanan's "continuous wave of condensation" technique recommended on digital display and the power level on it was set to 10. In order to apply heat on the Buchanan's pluggers, the heat control spring was touched for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 seconds respectively. The temperature rise on the surface of the pluggers were measured at 0.5 mm intervals from tip to 20 mm length of shank using the infraed thermography (Radiation Thermometer-IR temper, NEC San-ei Instruments, Ltd, Japan) and TH31-702 Data capture software program (NEC San-ei Instruments, Ltd, Japan). Data were analyzed using a one way ANOVA followed by Duncan's multiple range test and linear regression test. The results as follows. 1. The position at which temperature peaked was approximately at 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm far from the tip of Buchanan's pluggers (p<0.001). The temperature was constantly decreased toward the shank from the tip of it(p<0.001). 2. When the pluggers were heated over 5 seconds, the peak temperature by time of measurement revealed from 253.3±10.5℃ to 192.1±3.3℃ in a touch for 1 sec, from 218.6±5.0℃ to 179.5±4.2℃ in a touch for 2 sec, from 197.5±3.0℃ to 167.6±3.7℃ in a touch for 3 sec, from 183.7±2.5℃ to 159.8±3.6℃ in a touch for 4 sec and from 164.9±2.0℃ to 158.4±1.8℃ in a touch for 5 sec. A touch for 1 sec showed the highest peak temperature, followed by, in descending order, 2 sec, 3 sec, 4 sec. A touch for 5 sec showed the lowest peak temperature (p<0.001). 3. A each type of pluggers showed different peak temperatures. The peak temperature was the highest in F type and followed by, in descending order, M type, ML type. FM type revealed the lowest peak temerature (p<0.001). The results of this study indicated that pluggers are designed to concentrate heat at around its tip, its actual temperature dose not correlate well with the temperature which Buchanan's "continuous wave of condensation" technique recommended, and finally a quick touch of heat control spring for 1 sec reveals the highest temperature rise.
