Recently, From the point of view of noise and precision, the damping capacity, caused by machine's own structure on operating the machine, was the most important factor for development Industrial apparatus and Precision apparatus. In this research, we developed Fe-12 mass% Cr-6 to 30 mass% Mn alloys with high damping property and high strength. Material's damping property and it's strength have been investigated. We also applied to make textile machinery like a spinning machine. Particularly, the effects of the phases of alpha, gamma and epsilon martensite, which constitute the structure of the alloys Fe-12 mass% Cr-6 to 30 mass% Mn alloys, on the damping capacity at room temperature has been investigated. Various fractions of these phases were formed depending on the Mn content and cold work degree. It was found that the combination of 22 mass% Mn and 50% cold rolling formed the largest volume fraction of epsilon martensite phase and showed the highest damping capacity. The other phases of alpha and gamma had actually no effect on the damping capacity. It was also found that 50% clod worked Fe-12% Cr- 22% Mn alloy indicated the largest tensile strength of more than 1000㎫.<br/> <br/>
センサー融合システムを用いたナノファイバーウェブのPore size 測定法

<P>A sensor fusion system has been developed in order to characterize nano fiber webs under mass production. The fusion system consists of high magnification microscope and CCD(Charged coupled device) camera combination system for web images acquisition and the two laser displacement sensors for thickness measurement. Since the images obtained from an optical microscope represent only web surface, a scale factor (the ratio of depth of focus and thickness) has been introduced to characterize the web structure as a whole. The web structures by the microscope have been compared to those by liquid flow porometer, especially in pore size distribution. It has been shown that those two structures have a strong correlation, indicating that scaling of a single layer web structure can be an effective estimation for the structure of the thick fiber webs.</P>

Pineal organs of poikilotherm vertebrates transform the environmental light information into a humoral message and a neuronal activity. The former is melatonin, and the latter is modulation of the impulse in ganglion cells. The ganglion cells are physiologically classified into luminosity (achromatic) type and chromatic one, as the neural activity is modulated in two ways. We attempted to classify the pineal ganglion cells with morphological characteristics by means of the three- dimensional reconstruction method. In the pineal ganglion cells of river lamprey, there are two different features, oval and spherical. For comparison of their projection region in the brain, the tracing investigation was also carried out. The application of the neural tracer near mesencephalic tegmentum showed that only oval-shaped ganglion cells were labeled in the pineal organ. These results suggest that the oval-shaped ganglion cell is functionally different from the spherical one.
