A new thermal inkjet printer head on SOI wafer with virtual valve was proposed. It was composed of two<br/> rectangular heaters with same size. So we could call it T-jet(Twin jet). T-jet has a lot of merits. It has the<br/> advantage of being fabricated with one wafer and is easy to change the size of chamber, nozzle, restrictor and<br/> so on. However, above all, It is the best point that T-jet has a virtual valve. And it was manufactured on SOI<br/> wafer. The chamber was formed in its upper silicon whose thickness was 40um. The chamber’s bottom layer<br/> was silicon dioxide of SOI wafer and two heaters were located underneath the chamber’s ceiling. And the<br/> restirctor was made beside the chamber. Nozzle was molded by process of Ni plating. Ni was 30um thick.<br/> Nozzle ejection test was performed by printer head having 56 nozzles in 2 columns with 600NPI(nozzle per<br/> inch) and black ink. It measured a drop velocity of 12m/s, a drop volume of 30pl, and a maximum firing<br/> frequency of 12KHz for single nozzle ejection. Throwing out the ink drop in whole nozzles at the same time,<br/> it was observed that the uniformity of the drop velocity and volume was less than 4%.

Bee venom is a natural compound produced by the honey bee (Apis mellifera), and has been reported as having the biological and pharmacological activities, including anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammation. In the present study, the inhibitory effects of bee venom and its major peptide components on the tumor invasion were demonstrated. It was confirmed the inhibitory effects of bee venom, melittin, and apamin on the EGF-induced invasion of breast cancer cells. Transwell invasion and wound-healing assays showed that bee venom and melittin significantly inhibits the EGF-induced invasion and migration of breast cancer cells. Also, bee venom and melittin reduced the EGF-stimulated F-actin reorganization at the leading edge, but apamin did not affect. Particularly, melittin inhibited the EGF-induced MMP-9 expression via blocking the NF-κB and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway. In addition, melittin significantly suppressed the EGF-induced FAK phosphorylation through inhibition of mTOR/p70S6K/4E-BP1 pathway. These results suggest that inhibitory effects of melittin on breast cancer cell motility and migration may be related to the inhibition of mTOR pathway.ⓒ2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
Development of the ITER upper port stub extension assembly tool and its mock-up

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The ITER upper port stub extension (UPSE) of the vacuum vessel (VV) is classified into 2 categories according to its location and time to install; one is the central (even) UPSE which is welded at upper central position of the VV sector and delivered after attached to VV at factory. The other is the lateral (odd) UPSE which is welded at upper lateral position of the VV sector and the significant difference with the central UPSE is that the lateral UPSE is welded after whole VVs welded because this should be installed between adjacent VVs at Tokamak in-pit. The design of the dedicated assembly tool for the UPSE assembly has been developed by the Korean domestic agency (KODA). Adjustment system of this assembly tool has been also designed to meet the functional requirements requested by IO. For design verification of the UPSE assembly tool mentioned above, a mock-up has been fabricated in full size and tested according to the UPSE functional requirements for the assembly procedure. And the structural analysis results of the current design will be presented also.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We present on the development of the ITER upper port stub extension (UPSE) assembly tool and its mock-up. </LI> <LI> The design of the upper port stub extension assembly tool has been developed to meet design requirements and assembly procedure from ITER organization. </LI> <LI> The structural analysis of UPSE assembly tool has been carried out for verifying structural strength of this tool. In the results of the analysis for assessing structural stability of the UPSE assembly tool considering its dead weight, 15 tons of UPSE and safety factor 2.0, all stress are less than the allowable stress. </LI> <LI> For verification of tool design and feasibility, mock-up of the UPSE assembly tool and its alignment system was fabricated and tested. </LI> </UL> </P>

It is important to figure out the dynamic characteristics of the mechanical system in terms of the safe design. The most widely used method to grasp the inherent dynamic characteristics is Modal Analysis which gives us information of modal parameters, such as natural frequency, damping ratio and mode shape vector. However, as mechanical systems get larger and more complicated, difficulties how to set boundary and excitation conditions arise to Modal Analysis. Surely, the actual vibration of mechanical systems varies with surrounding conditions, which are temperature, rpm, air flow, pressure, load and so on; for example, the vibration of an indoor machine would be different from that of the machine at different location if outside is very cold and windy. Therefore, another method known as Operating Deflection Shape (ODS) is needed to deal with these situations that Modal Analysis cannot do. Practical ways to reduce the problem of vibration and noise might be proposed on the condition that the shape and quantity of deflections at certain operating conditions are measurable. Also, the rapid measurement not influencing dynamic characteristics of the structure is required for ODS. It is desirable to use Laser Scanning Vibrometer (LSV) which is untouchable to the structure. For that reason, ODS program is developed using LSV and Damage Detection is introduced through this program.

Cooled EGR is an effective method for the reduction of NOx from a diesel engine. EGR cooler is the key component of the EGR system. Recently, high efficiency, high performance and compactness are required for the EGR cooler to meet the Euro-5 emission regulation. Besides, the cutdown of the price of EGR cooler is highlighted. Until now, most of EGR cooler are shell and tube type heat exchangers made of stainless steel. This study investigates the heat transfer performance characteristics according to the design modification of low-cost ALDC(aluminum die-casting) EGR cooler in the same volume basis, whose basic model consists of laminated tubes with rectangular cross section and flow pattern is U-flow.
