Due to international sanctions against North Korea, North Korea is suffering from agricultural difficulties due to a decrease in food aid and a lack of supply of agricultural equipment, and food shortages and economic difficulties are increasing. Currently, inter-Korean and North American relations are in a cooling-off period, but if they improve in the future, inter-Korean cooperation projects in the agricultural sector are the areas with the highest feasibility and probability of success. This study examined the items and business areas that North Korea needs through analysis of North Korea’s agricultural trade trends, trade competitiveness index, and North Korea’s media. As a result of the analysis, there were some differences between the items derived through trade data analysis and media trend analysis, but this study is meaningful in that inter-Korean cooperation items were derived from various perspectives. Inter-Korean agricultural cooperation projects to solve North Korea’s low agricultural productivity and food problems are very important areas for humanitarian purposes, so higher attention is needed for future inter-Korean cooperation projects.

Diesel engine has advantages in point of carbon dioxide reduction than gasoline engine. But NOx emitted from diesel engine is still an important issue, Cooled EGR System is widely used in diesel engine for reducing NOx, As EGR rate is incresed, combustion stability was worse and PM level was increased. So it is important to determine optimal control point of EGR rate. In this research, NOx and PM emission was analyzed with various coolant temperature supplied to the EGR cooler at several positions such as downstream of turbocharger and upstream and downstream of DPF. And CO₂ was measured in exhaust pipe and intake manifold to calculate EGR rate at each engine operating condition. Also combustion analysis was performed in each engine operating condition.

Cooled EGR is an effective method for the reduction of NOx from a diesel engine. EGR cooler is the key component of the EGR system. Recently, high efficiency, high performance and compactness are required for the EGR cooler to meet the Euro-5 emission regulation. Besides, the cutdown of the price of EGR cooler is highlighted. Until now, most of EGR cooler are shell and tube type heat exchangers made of stainless steel. This study investigates the heat transfer performance characteristics according to the design modification of low-cost ALDC(aluminum die-casting) EGR cooler in the same volume basis, whose basic model consists of laminated tubes with rectangular cross section and flow pattern is U-flow.
