        Cloud Task Scheduling Based on Proximal Policy Optimization Algorithm for Lowering Energy Consumption of Data Center

        As a part of cloud computing technology, algorithms for cloud task scheduling place an important influence on the area of cloud computing in data centers. In our earlier work, we proposed DeepEnergyJS, which was designed based on the original version of the policy gradient and reinforcement learning algorithm. We verified its effectiveness through simulation experiments. In this study, we used the Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm to update DeepEnergyJS to DeepEnergyJSV2.0. First, we verify the convergence of the PPO algorithm on the dataset of Alibaba Cluster Data V2018. Then we contrast it with reinforcement learning algorithm in terms of convergence rate, converged value, and stability. The results indicate that PPO performed better in training and test data sets compared with reinforcement learning algorithm, as well as other general heuristic algorithms, such as First Fit, Random, and Tetris. DeepEnergyJSV2.0 achieves better energy efficiency than DeepEnergyJS by about 7.814%.

        Performance evaluation of binary blends of Portland cement and fly ash with complex admixture for durable concrete structures

        This paper presents the results of a study on binary blends of Portland cement and fly ash with complex admixture used for the concrete structures to meet specific performance objectives in east coastal area of China. The concretes were evaluated for workability, strength, water permeability, drying shrinkage, sulfate resistance and electrical resistance. Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy (ESEM) was used to examine the microstructure of concrete made by complex admixture compared with control batches without complex admixture. The combined efforts of fly ash and complex admixture led to an improvement in the workability, strength and durability.

        The development of training platform for CiADS using cave automatic virtual environment

        The project of China initiative Accelerator Driven Subcritical (CiADS) system has been started to construct in southeast China's Guangdong province since 2019, which is expected to be checked and accepted in the year 2025. In order to make the students in University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) better understand the main characteristic and the operation condition in the subcritical nuclear facility, the training platform for CiADS has been developed based on the Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) in the Institute of Modern Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMPCAS). The CAVE platform is a kind of non-head mounted virtual reality display system, which can provide the immersive experience and the alternative training platform to substitute the dangerous operation experiments with strong radioactivity. In this paper, the CAVE platform for the training scenarios in CiADS system has been presented with real-time simulation feature, where the required devices to generate the auditory and visual senses with the interactive mode have been detailed. Moreover, the three dimensional modeling database has been created for the different operation conditions, which can bring more freedom for the teachers to generate the appropriate training courses for the students. All the user-friendly features will offer a deep realistic impression to the students for the purpose of getting the required knowledge and experience without the large costs in the traditional experimental nuclear reactor.

        Numerical Analysis on the Mechanical Performance of Supporting Structures and Ground Settlement Characteristics in Construction Process of Subway Station Built by Pile-Beam-Arch Method

        Pile-Beam-Arch (PBA) method is an effective approach to control the surface settlement induced by excavation to construct the subway station, especially when the station is located in the urban area with dense buildings. Based on the numerical analysis model of practical engineering, the whole construction stages of the subway station built by PBA method are simulated in this paper. The mechanical performance of supporting structures (such as piles, beams, arches, secondary lining and backfill concrete) and surface settlement characteristics during construction are investigated. The results show that the pre-supporting system of piles, beams and arches is formed in the stage of soil excavation under main tunnel arch; Station hall plate and backfill concrete are two key structures to ensure the support stiffness of PBA supporting system. In addition, compared to the bottom-up method, the top-down method for the secondary lining construction can obviously reduce the internal force of supporting structures and the surface settlement. Combined with in-situ monitoring data, three increase stages of surface settlement and the corresponding settlement ratio are gained and the characteristic of surface settlement trough is also analysed. This study is helpful for further understanding the support mechanism of PBA method and the increase law of the ground settlement during the construction of the station built by PBA method.

      • Research on SQLite Database Query Optimization Based on Improved PSO Algorithm

        In recent years, with the development of the information industry, we ushered in the age of big data, more and more Internet and mobile products are popping up. According to the mobile device is portable, real-time etc, the development of mobile phone system become the focus of scientific and technological development, but the research on its local database is relatively small. This paper introduced a query optimization method based on improved Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) for SQLite database on Android platform. This method improves the original PSO, and put the database transaction into the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm, and should be used to join query. It improves the speed of complex query, and optimizes the query on SQLite database. Experimental results show that this method is an effective way to optimize the SQLite database query, and also can be used in the Android platform.

        Two birds with one stone: The route from waste printed circuit board electronic trash to multifunctional biomimetic slippery liquid-infused coating

        Finding appropriate usage of waste printed circuit board (WPCB), a kind of electronic trash, is an importanttask from background of environment protection and waste management. Due to the intrinsic highhindrance barrier capability, recycled epoxy resin in rich source from WPCB gives opportunity for corrosionprotection of metals based on Two birds with one stone ideology. One stone in this ideology is to applywaste as resource, and two birds respectively indicate using PCB waste as valuable material and inhibitingmetal corrosion. In this paper, by combining biomimetics strategy, we adopt a three-step methodincluding anodic oxidation, hydrophobic treatment and infusion of composite containing epoxy resinfrom WPCB and dimethyl silicone oil to finally form WPCB based slippery liquid-infused porous surface(W-LIS). Morphology, composition, wettability and electrochemical properties are characterized bysophisticated techniques. Adding recycled hydrophobic/oleophilic epoxy resin from WPCB into oil phasecan effectively increase the barrier effect and raise anticorrosion ability. Moreover, W-LIS delivers antifreezingadhesion and biofouling inhibition property, which is obviously superior to LIS and lotus inspiredsuperhydrophobic (SHS) coating. The various excellent performances of W-LIS indicate epoxy resin fromwaste printed circuit board can act a versatile role in field of metal corrosion prevention.
