Study on Aging Characteristics and Chemical Composition of Hydrogenated Transformer Oil

Qian, Yi-Hua,Huang, Yi-Bin,Fu, Qiang,Zhong, Zhen-Sheng The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2013 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.8 No.3

Under the condition of Baader aging, the chemical composition variation and the influence of transformer oil aging on electrical properties such as dielectric loss factor and physic-chemical properties such as interfacial tension were studied in the aging precess. Moreover, the correlation between hydrogenated transformer oil electrical and physic-chemical properties and its chemical composition variation were also investigated. The results show that these parameters of physic-chemical and electrical properties of hydrogenated transformer oil relate to each other and have closed correlation with chemical composition.

      • The XPD Lys751Gln Polymorphism has Predictive Value in Colorectal Cancer Patients Receiving Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy: a Systemic Review and Meta-analysis

        Qian, Ying-Ying,Liu, Xin-You,Pei, Dong,Xu, Jia-Li,Shen, Hua,Chen, Xiao-Feng,Liu, Yi-Qian,Shen, Li-Zong,Shu, Yong-Qian Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.22

Background: The predictive value of the xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) Lys751Gln polymorphism regarding clinical outcomes of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) receiving oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy has been evaluated in numerous published studies, but the results remain inconclusive. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to determine the precise role of the XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism in this clinical situation and optimize individual chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: A multiple search strategy was used to identify eligible studies. Pooled odds ratios (ORs), generalized odds ratio (ORG) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to estimate the objective response, while hazard ratios (HRs) with 95%CIs were used for progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Results: A total of 17 studies including 2,286 patients met the inclusion criteria. Overall, the XPD 751Gln allele was associated with a non-significant reduced objective response to oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in all patients or in the Asian and Caucasian subgroups. However, poor PFS and OS of CRC patients treated with oxaliplatin-based regimens were significantly related to the XPD 751Gln allele in the dominant model (PFS: HR=2.10, 95%CI: 1.65-2.67; OS: HR=3.18, 95%CI: 1.57-6.47). On stratified analysis by ethnicity, these relationships were more pronounced in Asians (PFS: HR=2.49, 95%CI: 1.79-3.47; OS: HR=5.25, 95%CI: 3.46-7.94) than in Caucasians (PFS: HR=1.73, 95%CI: 1.22-2.46; OS: HR=1.78, 95%CI: 1.06-2.99). Conclusions: The XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism may have prognostic value in patients with CRC undergoing oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.

Lifetime Prediction and Aging Behaviors of Nitrile Rubber Under Operating Environment of Transformer

        Yi-Hua Qian,Hong-zhao Xiao,Ming-hao Nie,Yao-hong Zhao,Yunbai Luo,Shu-ling Gong 대한전기학회 2018 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.13 No.2

Based on the actual operating environment of transformer, the aging tests of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) were conducted systematically under four conditions: in air, in transform oil, under compression in air and under compression in transform oil to studythe effect of high temperature, transform oil and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber and predict the lifetime. The effects of liquid media and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber were studied by using characterization methods such as IR spectrosc-opy, thermogravimetric measurements, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements and mechanical property measurements. The changes in physical properties during the aging process were analyzed and compared. Different aging conditions yielded materials with different properties. Aging at 70°C under compression stress in oil, the change in elongation at break was lower than that aging in oil, but larger than that aging under compression in air. The compression set or elongation at break as evaluation indexes, 50% as critical value, the lifetime of NBR at 25°C was predicted and compared. When aging under compression in oil, the prediction lifetime was lower than in air and under compression in air, and in oil. It was clear that when predicting the service lifetime of NBR in oil sealing application, compression and media liquid should be involved simultaneously. Under compression in oil, compression set as the evaluation index, the prediction lifetime of NBR was shorter than that of elongation at break as the evaluation index. For the life prediction of NBR, we should take into account of the performance trends of NBR under actual operating conditions to select the appropriate evaluation index.

      • Association Between VDR Polymorphisms and Breast Cancer: An Updated and Comparative Meta-analysis of Crude and Adjusted Odd Ratios

Huang, Qian-Qian,Liao, Yu-Yi,Ye, Xiao-Hua,Fu, Jin-Jian,Chen, Si-Dong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.2

There is a lot of debate on the relationship between vitamin D receptor polymorphisms and risk of breast cancer. Herein, we quantitatively analyzed the published case-control studies on this relationship by meta-analysis, performing a bibliographic search from Pubmed and CNKI up to July 31, 2013. The included case-control studies for Fok1, Bsm1, Taq1, Apa1, Cdx2 and Poly-A were 16, 19, 20, 10, 4, 6, respectively. Crude and adjusted odd ratios and 95% confidence intervals were calculated to present and compare the strength of any associations. The results of combined analyses indicated that Fok1, Bsm1, Apa1, Cdx2 and Poly-A were not significantly associated with the risk of breast cancer. In contrast, the tt genotype of Taq1 was a modest risk factor for breast cancer development (tt vs. TT: OR = 1.21, 95% CI: 1.01-1.44). To further confirm the above results, adjusted effects for the six polymorphisms were pooled based on adjusted ORs reported in the original studies. Adjusted ORs of Fok1, Apa1, Cdx2 and Poly-A were similar to the crude ORs. However, Bsm1 and Taq1 showed inconsistent results. For Bsm1, OR for BB vs. bb was 0.85, 95% CI: 0.74-0.98; for Taq1, OR for tt vs. TT was 1.03, 95% CI: 0.92-1.15, and not associated with risk. Subgroup analyses for crude ORs showed some association between Bsm1, Taq1 and breast cancer in Caucasians only, but for adjusted ORs, no associations were found. This meta-analysis suggests that the roles that Fok1, Apa1, Cdx2 and Poly-A polymorphisms play in breast cancer risk are negligible, with Bsm1 and Taq1 as possible exceptions. To be conservative, we still assumed that they may play a modest role in determining breast cancer risk. Further studies are needed to validate our findings.

Vp28 of Shrimp White Spot Syndrome Virus Is Involved in the Attachment and Penetration into Shrimp Cells

( Guo Hua Yi ),( Zhi Min Wang ),( Yi Peng Qi ),( Lun Guang Yao ),( Juan Qian ),( Long Bo Hu ) 생화학분자생물학회 2004 BMB Reports Vol.37 No.6

White spot disease (WSD) is caused by the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), which results in devastating losses to the shrimp farming industry around the world. However, the mechanism of virus entry and spread into the shrimp cells is unknown. A binding assay in vitro demonstrated VP28-EGFP (envelope protein VP28 fused with enhanced green fluorescence protein) binding to shrimp cells. This provides direct evidence that VP28-EGFP can bind to shrimp cells at pH 6.0 within OS It However, the protein was observed to enter the cytoplasm 3 h post-adsorption. Meanwhile, the plaque inhibition test showed that the polyclonal antibody against VP28 (a major envelope protein of WSSV) could neutralize the WSSV and block an infection with the virus. The result of competition EI,ISA further confirmed that the envelope protein VP28 could compete with WSSV to bind to shrimp cells. Overall, VP28 of the WSSV can bind to shrimp cells as an attachment protein, and can help the virus enter the cytoplasm.

Effects of Three Types of Resistant Starch on Intestine and Their Gastric Ulcer Preventive Activities in vivo

Qian, Yu,Li, Gui Jie,Zhu, Kai,Suo, Hua Yi,Sun, Peng,Zhao, Xin The Korean Society for Applied Biological Chemistr 2013 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.56 No.6

To examine the effects of three types of resistant starch (RS) on intestinal metabolites, structure and their gastric injury preventive activities, Sprague-Dawley mice were fed diet containing 15% RS for 4 weeks. Response relationships among three types of RS (RS2, RS3, and RS4) food intake, body weight gain, food efficiency, wet weight of cecum (with or not with contents), pH, ammonia production, and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) concentration of cecal contents as well as intestinal structure were investigated. All three types of RS had effects on food intake, weight control, lowering of pH, ammonia production in cecal contents, increasing the wet weight of cecum (with or without contents), changes in SCFAs concentration of cecal contents, and physiological structure of small intestine and cecum compared to the control group (common starch-fed rats). RS3 group showed minimum weight gain and food efficiency, compared to both the control group and the other two types of RS diet. RS3 group showed more significant lowering of pH, ammonia production, and SCFAs of cecal contents. In addition, all three types of RS shortened villous height, and muscle and mucosal thickening in small intestine, resulting in significantly decreased villous height and mucosal thickness, whereas significantly increased muscle thickness in the cecum. However, they did not cause detectable pathological changes in the small intestine and cecum. Animal model was also used to check its gastric ulcer preventive effects. The gastric ulcer level was significantly down-regulated by RS3, demonstrating its anti-inflammatory properties. RS3 reduced the levels of serum proinflammatory cytokines of IL-6, IL-12, TNF-${\alpha}$, and IFN-${\gamma}$ compared to RS2 and RS4. RS3 increased the somatostatin (SS) and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), decreased the motillin (MOT) and substance P (SP) serum levels. These results suggest that RS3 shows the best gastric ulcer preventive effect.
