Some nano hair systems in the nature are found to show excellent adhesive characteristic, which is called dry adhesive. To develop a practical synthetic dry adhesive system, we mold nano hairs on plastic substrates using thermoplstic materials including COC, PP, PC and PMMA. and estimate the moldability and the adhesive characteristic. As a template for molding nano hairs, AAO membrane is first adopted, which is 60㎛ thick and 13㎜ in diameter. This membrane has about billions of through-holes of which diameter is around 200㎚. This AAO membrane and the pellet of materials are stacked in the mold and pressed to mold after heating up to be melted. The AAO membrane is removed using KOH to obtain the molded nano hairs. The molded nano hair substrates is estimated to show much better adhesive characteristic than a substrate without nano hairs.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Two-dimensional numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the natural convection heat transfer induced by the temperature difference between cold walls of the square enclosure and a hot inner circular cylinder in the Prandtl number range of 10<SUP>−2</SUP> ⩽ <I>Pr</I> ⩽10<SUP>2</SUP> and Rayleigh number range of 10<SUP>3</SUP> ⩽ <I>Ra</I> ⩽10<SUP>6</SUP>. In this paper as a sequent research of Mun et al. (2015), the additional geometrical configuration of the system, which is the variation in the vertical position of the inner cylinder, was considered. The change in the structure of convection cells and corresponding heat transfer characteristics were analyzed, which are induced by the variation in the vertical position of the inner cylinder located in the enclosure. And the characteristics of the entropy generation due to heat transfer and fluid friction associated with the flow and thermal structures were addressed in this study.</P> <P><B>Highlight</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The immersed boundary method was used, based on the finite volume method. </LI> </UL> </P>

The releasing is becoming one of core technologies in forming of the micro surface structures as the aspect ratio of the structure becomes higher while the in-plane size of the feature becomes smaller in recent applications. In this study, the effect of the degree of cure of the UV curable resin is investigated on the releasing characteristic of the micro surface features during the UV forming process. 3 types of the features, prism, lenticular and channel, are designed for the releasing experiments and each feature has 3 different dimensions. The patterned UV resin layer using these pattern master is exposed to the UV light for several different times to obtain different degree of cure. After curing the UV curable resin layer, the patterned UV resin layer was demolded and estimated to see the releasing characteristic. Also the coating thickness effect was investigated on the curing of the resin.
나노 Hair 어레이 제작을 위한 사출 성형 기술 개발

High aspect ratio of nano hair array on a plastic substrate is injection molded using thermoplatic materials. The diameter of the hairmolded is about 200㎚ and the length is 2㎛ ~ 10㎛, so the aspect ratio is over 10. As a template for molding, two types of AAO(Aluminum Anodizing Oxide) plate are adopted. One is though-hole type of which the thickness is about 60㎛ and another is intaglio hole type on the Al plate of about 2㎜ thickness. The overall dimension of the molded substrate with nano hair array on its surface is about 10㎜ for diameter and about 1mm for thickness. COC(Cyclic Olefin Copolymer) is used due to its goodmoldability andmechanical properties.

A new method is proposed to fabricate a reusable qualtz master with order of 100 nm dot pattern on its surface. Some fabrication conditions such as dose are investigated to find optimal condition. This reusable qualtz master is used directly as a stamper to injection mold the dot patterns. Polycarbonate and Polyoxymethylene are used as molding materials and the effect of the mold temperature is also investigated to see the moldabilty of the injection molding for very fine dot features.
