Development of Light Transmission Fluctuation for Particle Measurement in Solid-Gas Two Phase Flows

In order to realize In-line and convenient measurement for solid-gas two phase flows, Light Transmission Fluctuation (LTF) based on the random variation of transmitted light intensity, light scattering theory and cross-correlation method was presented for online measurement of particle size, concentration and velocity. The statistical relationship among transmitted light intensity, particle size and particle number in measurement zone was described by Beer-Lambert Law. Accordingly, the particle size and concentration were determined from the fluctuation signal of transmitted light intensity. Simultaneously, the particle velocity was calculated by cross-correlation analysis of two neighboring light beams. By considering the influence of concentration variation in industrial applications, the improved algorithm based on spectral analysis of transmitted light intensity was proposed to improve measurement accuracy and stability. Therefore, the online measurement system based on LTF was developed and applied to measure pulverized coal in power station and raw material in cement plant. The particle size, concentration and velocity of powder were monitored in real-time. It can provide important references for optimal control, energy saving and emission reduction of energy-intensive industries.

<P>Abstract</P><P><I>Trivalvariarubra</I> and <I>Trivalvariacasseabriae</I>, two new species of Annonaceae from Putao, Kachin State, Myanmar, are here described and illustrated. They are morphologically similar to <I>T.costata</I> and <I>T.macrophylla</I>. The major differences between them are outlined and discussed. A diagnostic key to the species of <I>Trivalvaria</I> is provided.</P>

The min-projection strategy (MPS) is a switching rule with better convergence speed, which can improve the dynamic characteristics of three-phase grid-connected inverters. However, the grid-connected current harmonics of the system are large when the MPS is used directly in the digital control framework due to the limitations of the sampling frequency. To solve this problem, an improved min-projection strategy is proposed in this paper by introducing a zero voltage vector to the control. First, the non-zero voltage vector is selected through the switching law function of the MPS. Then the time occupied by the non-zero voltage vector and the zero voltage vector can be obtained through an error function, which is established by the principle of minimum current error. Finally, the switching signal can be obtained for control, based on the method of duty cycle modulation. This method can realize fast current tracking and current decoupling control, reduce the grid-connected current harmonics, and improve the steady state performance of the system without increasing costs. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experimental results.
Applying Axiomatic design method in data-driven product design

Big data has become viable as cost-effective approaches have emerged to tame the Volume, Velocity, Variety,Value (4Vs) of massive data. Within Big Data lies valuable patterns and information, previously hidden because of the tremendous amount of work required to extract them. Data-driven product design can guide designers making proper and accurate decisions, this design method is effective and useful, it becomes more and more popular today. Axiomatic design method is equally based on two design axioms of functional independency and information minimum, through “zigzag” decomposition, assigning design task to different design domains to complete design. This paper investigates how to apply Axiomatic design method in data-driven product design in order to bring new opportunities to enhance the production efficiency and product competitiveness.

Dual-cooled annular fuel allows a significant increase in power density while maintaining or improving safety margins. However, the dual-cooled design brings much higher Zircaloy charge in reactor core, which could cause a great threaten of hydrogen explosion during severe accidents. Hence, an innovative fuel combined dual-cooled annular geometry and SiC cladding was proposed for the first time in this study. Capabilities of fuel design and behavior simulation were developed for this new fuel by the upgrade of FROBA-ANNULAR code. Considering characteristics of both SiC cladding and dual-cooled annular geometry, the basic fuel design was proposed and preliminary proved to be feasible. After that, a design optimization study was conducted, and the optimal values of as-fabricated plenum pressure and gas gap sizes were obtained. Finally, the performance simulation of the new fuel was carried out with the full consideration of realistic operation conditions. Results indicate that in addition to possessing advantages of both dual-cooled annular fuel and accident tolerant cladding at the same time, this innovative fuel could overcome the brittle failure issue of SiC induced by pellet-cladding interaction.

도시현상의 특징적인 요소를 뽑아 이를 수리적으로 재구성하는 도시모형은 도시현상의 이론화, 정립된 이론의 수식화 및 수리모형의 검증등의 단계를 거쳐서 완성된다. 이 가운데 도시모형을 수리적으로 표현하는 단계인 이론의 수식화 과정은 도시 모형의 효율성과 깊은 관련을 맺고 있다. 본 연구는 수리모형의 세가지 구성요소중 하나인 모형계수의 추정방법에 관련된 문제점을 다루고 있다. 연구에서 이용된 모형은 ITLUP(Integrated Transportation and Land Use Model Package)으로서 지역이동모형을 근거로 하여 개발된 모형이다. 네트웍 용량의 불균일성, 노선배정의 기법, 지구통합의 효과등을 통하여 모형계수 추정의 문제점을 분석하며 이를 장래 교통수요추정의 정확도를 높이는데 활용한다.

본 연구는 도시에서 발생하는 인구, 경제, 체계, 주거, 고용등의 변호로부터 특징적인 요소를 뽑아 그 현상을 재구성하는 도시 모형을 대상으로 한다. 도시모형분야는 1980년대 이후 컴퓨터를 이용한 본격적인 문제 해결이 가능해짐에 따라 1960년대 후반이후 침체기를 벗어나 활발한 연구활동과 결과를 통하여 새 영역을 구축하고 있다. 이에 지역이동 모형과 관련하여 라우리 모형과 엔트로피 극대화 모형의 구조와 내용을 살펴보았으며, 교통과 토지 이용간의 상호 관계에 근거하여 최근에 개발한 ITLUP 모형의 개념을 다루고 있다.
