        This study evaluated the compression force at the L5/S1 disc using back strength and IEMG(Integrated Electromyography). We divided the distance into one-half, three-fourth and full, measured the back strength. The results showed significant difference much among the cases. IEMG values were analyzed under the condition of fixed vertical factor, two horizontal factors, and 2 times per minute for the stoop posture, As the result, there are significant differences between horizontal distance 35cm and 55cm. This result showed that back strength decreased and the motor units of erector spinae muscle increased as the horizontal distance increased. Therefore, decreasing the horizontal distance to decrease compression force at L5/S1 is important on preventing a low back pain. Also. by using these data for prediction musculoskeletal disorders if we design equipment, machine and apparatus for human welfare, we can give advantage of prevention of low back pain much. We will be able to apply these data to work method or workplace lay-out.

      • UHF대역 RFID 리더기용 광대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계

        일반적인 마이크로스트립 안테나는 높은 Q값으로 인해 5% 이내의 대역폭을 가지고 있다. 이는 단일 밴드(국내908.5~914MHz)에서는 문제가 없지만 UHF대역의 다중밴드 RFID 어플리케이션에 사용하기에는 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로스트립 안테나가 지니는 협대역의 특성을 개선하기 위해 부싱(busing)을 사용하여 RFID 리더기에서 요구되는 광대역 원편파를 발생하는 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계하였다. 원편파 특성을 얻기 위하여 패치의 모서리를 절단하였으며 패치면에 슬릿을 삽입하여 광대역의 축비를 얻었다. Standard microstrip antennas have bandwidth of less than 5% because of high Q of microstrip antennas. 5% bandwidth is far less than needed in order to be used in UHF band RFID applications. In this paper, a bushing is used to improve narrow-band characteristics of circular-polarized microstrip antennas for multi-band RFID reader.       • 열대지방사람들의 땀샘의 밀도와 기능

        Tropical inhabitants are able to tolerate heat through permanent residence in the tropics. To clarify the peripheral mechanisms of the suppressed thermal sweating in tropical natives, sweating responses to acetylcholine (ACh), a primary transmitter of the sudomotor innervation, were compared between healthy Korean and African males. ACh was iontophoretically administered on the forearm. Directly activated and axon reflex-mediated sweat responses were evaluated by quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test (QSART). The sweating of axon reflex (nicotinic receptor) onset-time was 0.42 min shorter (P<0.01) and the sweat volumes (muscarinic receptors) were 75% (P<0.01) and the ACh sweat volumes of axon reflex (nicotinic receptor) 79% higher (P<0.01) in the Koreans than the Africans. Iodine-impregnated paper method revealed that sweat gland density was 45.1% higher (P<0.01) and sweat gland output per single gland was 18.4% larger (P<0.001) in the Koreans compared to the Africans. These results indicate that suppressed thermal sweating in Africans is, at least in part, attributed to the suppressed glandular sensitivity to ACh through both recruitment of sweat glands and sweat output per each gland.

      • 사람의 축색 반사성 및 발한의 연구

        발한 기능에 대해 연구하기 위하여 아세티콜린 (acetylcholine, Ach) 이온 투과법에 의해 축색 반사성을 자극하는 정량적 축삭 반사성 발한 검사법 (quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test, QSART)을 발한 반응을 검토하였다. 용적 습도계 QSART를 이용해 Ach 10% 이온 투과법 (2 mA ×5 min)을 하는 동안 직접적으로 활성화된 (directly activated, DiR)땀과 축색 반사성에 (axon reflex, AXR) 의해 땀의 양을 측정했다. 발한 시작점(onset-time)시간, 무스카린 수용체(muscarine receptor)의 직접적인 영향에 의한 땀의 양 그리고 축색 반사성에 의해 매개되는 니코틴 수용체 (nicotine receptor)에 의해 간접적으로 발생되는 (AXR(1) and AXR(2)) 발한 양에 대해 연구하였다. 발한 시작점에 있어서 왼쪽과 오른쪽에서의 상관관계가 높은 것으로 나타났다. (p<0.01). 직접적인 니코틴 수용체의 활동의 자극으로 유도된 발한의 양에 있어서 왼쪽과 오른쪽에서의 상관관계가 높은 것으로 나타났다. (P<0.01). 간접적인 니코틴 수용체의 활동의 자극으로 유도된 발한의 양에 있어서 왼쪽과 오른쪽에서의 상관관계가 높은 것으로 나타났다. (P<0.01). 이 같은 실험결과로 볼 때 말초적 발한 검사에 간단한 방법으로 사료되며 임상의 신경분야등에 유용하게 사용될 것으로 판단된다.

      • Lagomorpha (토끼)의 열생물학적 분류와 특성

        고산지대 또는 추운 지역에서 서식하는 Pika는 높은 고도에 의한 추위에 적응되어 있다. 저 호흡, 작은 귀이개와 열이 없는 타액의 분비와 행동의 특성에 의한 고 체온, 높은 대사량과 열을 적게 잃는 능력을 가진 Pika는 땅 밑의 토굴 또는 바위 사이의 은신처에 겨우내 먹을 수 잇는 저장된 먹이와 풀이 있는 곳에서 겨울을 난다고 보고 되어져 있다. 혈액 glucose 수준은 Pika (83±5.3 mg/ml)와 rabbit 90±8.2 mg/ml)에 비하여 Rat (120±15.5 mg/ml)이 높게 나타났다. 이는 통게적으로 유의한 차이가 인정되었다. (P<0.01). 또한 Pika와 Rabbit에 있어서는 통게적으로 유의한 차이가 인정되지 않았다. Pika는 생태학적으로나 자율 행동성 체온 조절학적인 것뿐만 아니라 추위에 대한 단열적인 방어 기전에 적응한 것으로 생각된다. 앞으로의 연구들에서 밝혀지겠지만 Pika의 연속적인 체온 주기의 소실은 주기 연구 영역에서 상당히 특이하고 흥미로운 것이다.

      • 탄도적인 손가락의 신전움직임에 있어서 신근과 굴근의 협조

        In this investigation the temporal-spatial characteristics of muscle isometric contraction of shouting in ballistic movement of the musclus biceps brachii flexion was compared between trained kendo athletes and untrained control subjects by surface electromyographic(EMG) analysis Surface EMG from the mid-point of the triceps muscle and biceps muscle, and a hand wrist flesion signal of the wrist were recorded with a personal computer through AD- conversion (1KHz of sampling frequncy). premotor tiem (PMT), motor time (MT), reaction tiem (RT), Max0tension and integrated electromyogram(I-EMG), during 500msec from the were analyxed by bio-information multi-task analyxing program (BIMUTAS Kissei comtec). In the kendo athletes, reaction time was significantly shorter tham that of control group. The shortening of reaction time in kendo athletes was mainly attributed to the shortening of motor time. In the kendo athletes, motor time was significantly shorter than that of control group. In the kendo athletes, I-EMG was significantly high frequency discharge than that of control group. From these results, it is suggested that motor learning is achieved in kendo trained and the maximal is metirc contraction may play an important role in heghtenning the efficiency of ballistic movement in coordination with the shouting.

      • Macrophge에서 IL-1과 heat shock protein의 상관관계

        The macrophage plays an important role in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced fever. Fever formation is attributed to macrophage activity. The purpose of this study is to examine whether induced fever has the charateristics of self-restriction during the process of a fever response. The result of methy-[^(3)H]-thymidine incorporation in RAW 246.7 cells showed that the proliferation of the macrohage was suppressed by a heat load of 39℃ for 2 hr. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed that the activity of IL-1 secretion induced by LPS was also suppressed by heat load. Suppression of activities of the macrophage including proliferation and secretion suggest that negative feedback loops exist where the end product, heat, may act back on the macrophage and finally result in the subsiding of a fever. The induction of heat shock protein (hsp70) by heat shock in the macrophage was detected by Western blot and Northern blot analysis. In U-937 cells, the increase of hsp70 band appears to be related to the extent of inhibition of IL-1 secretion. It is assumed that IL-1 secretion from the macrophage which effects the induction of fever, has a close relationship to the induction of hsp70.

      • 유산소 체계의 훈련이 아세티콜린에 대한 말초 발한 감도에 미치는 영향

        Higher sweating in trained, compared to sedentary men has been attributed to differences in the peripheral sweating mechanisms, although such mechanisms have not been completely investigated in comparative terms. The aim of this study is to quantitatively investingate the peripheral sudomotor adaptive mechanisms attributed for greater sweating in endurance-trained athletes as opposed to sedentary men. To do this, we compared sudomotor activities to acetylcholin (ACh) iontophoresed in the fore arm skins of trained versus untrained subjects. Changes in sking and body temperatures, sweating rate (sweat volume), sweat onset time, active sweat gland density (SGD), and single sweat gland output (SGO) were measured. Training-related differences were observed for sweat volume, onset-time, SGD, SGO and skin temperature. It was concluded that endurance trained atholetes had higher sweat outputs due to the combinations of a higher sweat output per activated sweat gland, shorter lag phase for sweating, higher number of activated sweat glands.

      • 아토피 환자의 축색성 발한 기능

        To examine the sweating function in atopic dermatitis, we investigated the sweating response of the lesional and nonlesional skin of adult patients with atopic dermatitis by a quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test (QSART) in which the axon reflex is stimulated by acetylcholine (ACh) iontophoresis. Directly activated(DIR) and axon reflex (AXR)-mediated sweating during ACh10% iontophoresis (2 mA × 5 min) were measured by capacitance hygrometer QSART. Sweat volume on the volar aspect of the orearm was measured in 23 adult patients with atopic dermatitis and in 65 nonatopic healthy controls. In the atopic patients, all measurements were performed on both lesional and nonlesional skin. Onset-time time, directs of muscarine receptor (DIR) sweat volume, and axon reflex-mediated indirect of nicotine receptor (AXR(1) and AXR(2)) sweat volume were the variables studied. The results showed that onset- time of axon reflex in atopic dermatitis patients was significantly prolonged and AXR(1) and AXR(2) significantly reduced compared with those in nonatopic healthy contrl subjects. The onset-time and AXR(1) and AXR(2) sweat volume of the atopic dermatitis lesional skin were signficsantly more prolonged and reduced, respectively, than shose of the nonlesional skin. Also, the DIR sweat volume of the lesional or nonlesional atopic dermatitis skin induced by direct stimulation with ACh was reduced when compared with that in nonatopic healthy controls.

      • 장거리 훈련자에 있어서 IL-1β의 발현 양상

        In this study, we examined expression of heat shock protein IL-iβ in human leukocytes and hematological variables after moderate-to-heavy exercise. We also compared baseline levels and recovery levels (30min after exercise) of IL-1β in trained(long-distance runner; EXE, n=10) with untrained (CON, n=10) subjects. Subjects ran on a treadmill for 1hr at 70% of HRR (heart rate reserve). Blood were taken at rest and after exercise, and recovery of 30 minutes. All values are presented as means±SD. Statistical significance was assessed by two-way ANOVA with repeated measurement and by independent t-test, post hoc test was administrated by SNK. The results were as follows: Baseline IL-1β levels in EXE were significantly lower than CON. Although the ratio of IL-1β increment during exercise and recovery was similar in both groups, but amounts of increment were different between groups. We conclude that 1 hr treadmill running at 70% HRR intensity (moderate-to-heavy) is a sufficient stimulate of leukocytosis, neutrocytosis and lymphocytosis on both groups. But. EXP that might be a chronic adaptation to training denoted slight increases than CON.
