A Semantic Approach to the Design of Valid and Reversible Semistructured Views
Yabing Chen,Tok Wang Ling,Mong Li Lee,Masatake Nakanishi,Gillian Dobbie 한국정보과학회 2007 Journal of Computing Science and Engineering Vol.1 No.1
Existing systems that support semistructured views do not maintain semantics during the process of designing the views. Thus, these systems do not guarantee the validity and reversibility of the views. In this paper, we propose an approach to address the issue of valid and reversible semistructured views. We design a set of view operators for designing semistructured views. These operators are select, drop, join and swap. For each.operator, we develop a complete set of rules to maintain the semantics of the views. In particular, we maintain the evolution and integrity of relationships once an operator is applied. We also examine the reversible view problem under our operators and develop rules to guarantee that the designed views are reversible. Finally, we examine the changes in the participation constraints of relationship types during the view design process, and develop rules to ensure the correctness of the participation constraints.
New In-Pipe Robot Capable of Coping with Various Diameters
Sari Yabe,Hiroyuki Masuta,Hun-ok Lim 제어로봇시스템학회 2012 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2012 No.10
This paper describes a new robot capable of inspecting pipes with different diameters. The robot is composed of units and connecting links. One unit is used for the robot to move in a straight pipe, while two or more units are needed to move and turn in a divergent pipe. Several experiments are conducted in the pipes with different diameters, and the effectiveness of the mechanism of the robot is confirmed.

Introduction of the system and its status report on trademark application filing regarding new types of trademarks (sounds, colors per se, motions, positions and holograms) under 2014 Amendment of the Trademark Act of Japan. In addition, 2016 Amendment of the Examiner`s Guideline for Design at Japan Patent Office relaxed their standard to examine GUIs in relation to interpretation of “Design” to be protected for “Article” under the Design Act of Japan. This article introduces such amendment`s purpose and influence on greater protection of graphics used on designs in relation to digital devices.
