SYNTHESIS AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF A NOVEL TiO2 AEROGEL–TiO2
YOSHIKAZU SUZUKI,MARIE-HÉLÈNE BERGER,DANIELA D'ELIA,PIERRE ILBIZIAN,CHRISTIAN BEAUGER,ARNAUD RIGACCI,JEAN-FRANÇOIS HOCHEPIED,PATRICK ACHARD 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2008 NANO Vol.3 No.5
TiO2 aerogel–10 mol% TiO2 nanowire composite was prepared by a sol–gel technique with the addition of TiO2 nanowires to TiO2 sol, followed by supercritical drying in CO2. TiO2 nanowires (anatase with minor rutile phases) as dispersoid were prepared by a hydrothermal process followed by calcination in air at 600°C. The TiO2 nanowires were dispersed in a 2-propanol/H2O/HNO3 solution, and the mixture was added drop by drop to a tetrabutyl orthotitanate [i.e. Ti (IV) n-butoxide] solution in 2-propanol. After gelation, the TiO2 alcogel–TiO2 nanowire composite was dried in supercritical CO2 to obtain the final, TiO2 aerogel–TiO2 nanowire composite. TEM analysis revealed that a unique "nanowire network" structure was formed withinthe mesoporous aerogel matrix. The aerogel–TiO2 nanowire composite had a relatively large surface area 427 m2/g, with mesopores ~ 16 nm in diameter and a pore of volume of 1.63 cm3/g.
A Process Model for Deciding Elderly Care
Suzuki, Tomomichi,Imai, Takayuki,Yaezawa, Toru,Wakasugi, Tadahiro,Iizuka, Yoshinori,Ojima, Yoshikazu 한국품질경영학회 2002 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.3 No.1
Care to an older person is provided based on the care plan that was made by a care manager. Therefore, to improve the quality of elderly care, the quality of the care plan must first be improved. Care managers make care plans considering the physical and mental attributes of the elderly. But, as matters stand, these plans are based on the experience of care managers. Therefore, a framework that can support making appropriate care plans is called for. In order to make appropriate care plans, it is necessary to clarify the relation between the attributes of the elderly and the care that should be provided. In this paper, data from a large-scale investigation of the actual elderly care are analyzed and a process model for deciding the care is proposed. The model provides the necessary basis for what factors must be considered and how the care should be determined.
Useful Control Equations for Practitioners on Dynamic Process Control
Suzuki, Tomomichi,Ojima, Yoshikazu The Korean Society for Quality Management 2002 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.3 No.2
System identification and controller formulation are essential in dynamic process control. In system identification, data for system identification are obtained, and then they are analyzed so that the system model of the process is built, identified, and diagnosed. In controller formulation, the control equation is derived based on the result of the system identification. There has been much theoretical research on system identification and controller formulation. These theories are very useful when they are appropriately applied. To our regret, however, these theories are not always effectively applied in practice because the engineers and the operators who manage the process often do not have the necessary understanding of required time series analysis methods. On the other hand, because of widespread use of statistical packages, system identification such as estimating ARMA models can be done with little understanding of time series analysis methods. Therefore, it might be said that the most theoretically difficult part in practice is the controller formulation. In this paper, lists of control equations are proposed as a useful tool for practitioners to use. The tool supports bridging the gap between theory and practice in dynamic process control. Also, for some models, the generalized control equations are obtained.

In this paper, a modified voltage reference circuitry using LTPS TFT is proposed. The new modified voltage reference circuitry is unaffected by fluctuations of the power supply voltage and the ambient temperature due to the utilization of enhancement-depletion (E-D) reference circuit and the operation in the weak inversion region for generation of a stable reference voltage. To verify the performance of the new modified circuitry, the circuit simulation is carried out by using SPICE. As a result of the simulation, the supply voltage dependability (SVD) and the temperature coefficient (TC) achieves to values of 0.08967 [%/V] and 0.00203[%/℃], respectively, when the ambient temperature (Ta) is +25℃ and the supply voltage (VDD) is +8V. In brief, these characterisitcs of the new modified circuitry are improved comparing with that of the conventional circuit.
Risk Structure Analysis for Cost of Capital : A Demonstrative Study using Financial Indices
Ling, Feng,Suzuki, Tomomichi,Ojima, Yoshikazu The Korean Society for Quality Management 2006 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.7 No.3
Economic value added (EVA) is introduced on two levels: as index for evaluation of corporation and as index for evaluation of business unit. In the latter case, application of one and the same cost of capital to all business units of a business corporation may be possible, but it is a fundamental policy for EVA to apply different cost of capital to business units with different risks. Estimate of cost of capital of business units is a problem to be resolved. The author, focusing on the question of the estimate of cost of capital of business units, has conducted a demonstrative study on risk structure of cost of capital estimates by using financial indices of Japanese manufacturers (37 automotive industries, 141 electrical and electronic machinery industries, 63 food processing industries, 98 chemical industries, 125 general machinery industries) for a period of 5 years from 1995 to 1999. The author presumes that $\beta$ is explained by a regression formula ${\beta}=B_0+{\Sigma}B_iY_i+{\alpha}$ ($Y_i$: financial indices) and selects 40 explanatory variables from financial statements as risk components. Using their financial indices, the author concludes through a series of statistical analyses that there is a good likelihood of estimating cost of capital for Japanese industries and is convinced that it will lead to more reliable and practical results by assigning averages and variances to 40 primary financial indices for a period of 3 to 5 years selected in this demonstrative study.
Analyses on the Pricing Factors from a Case Study of Light Trucks
Ling, Feng,Ojima, Yoshikazu,Suzuki, Tomomichi The Korean Society for Quality Management 2005 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.6 No.1
The purpose of this paper is to clarify analytically the relation between the characteristics and the pricing of the products of individual manufacturers, so we can offer beneficial information for designing and developing products. Light trucks of 1 ton to 4 ton have been taken up as examples. We carried out analyses based on the information on the evaluations of the functional characteristics by surveying the specifications obtained from light truck catalogues.
