This paper tests how managerial financial education explains the valuation effects of seasoned equity offerings (SEOs). Using a sample of Taiwanese listed firms during 2007–2018, our results show that investors react more negatively to SEO announcements by firms with more financially educated managers (MFEMs). Such a negative effect is more pronounced for firms with a higher information asymmetry and more earnings management. Further evidence indicates that SEO firms with MFEMs are substantially overvalued and thus experience a significantly long-run post-SEO underperformance. MFEMs are also found to reduce their ownership prior to SEOs. Our overall results support the opportunism-based information advantage hypothesis.
Research in the Cloud Calculation Database Based on Improved Ant Colony Algorithm
Xuan Chen,Jun Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.9 No.4
In cloud computing environments, the database is dynamic and real-time features, and in data access it has been a Gordian knot of cloud computing research; because in the ant colony algorithm that ants finding food shares similar correlation with cloud computing node finding the access to the database. Therefore, the introduction of ant colony algorithm into cloud computing database, the introduction of the chaos function in the pheromone update, both will make the improved pheromone avoid the possibility of getting into local convergence, and hence improve the efficiency of database access in the cloud computing, reduce the load in the cloud computing. The simulation results show that the algorithm in this paper has been significantly improved in terms of cloud computing network queries and database consumption, and greatly improved the efficiency of cloud computing.

To determine the relationship between comorbidity and outcome after radical cystectomy in Chinese patients by using the Adult Comorbidity Evaluation (ACE)-27 index. Two-hundred-and-forty-six patients treated with radical cystectomy at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Hunan Province, China between 2000 and 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. Medical records were reviewed for age, gender, delayed time of radical cystectomy, urinary diversion type, pelvic lymphadenectomy status, TNM stage, and pathological grade. Comorbidity information was assessed by the ACE-27 index. The outcome measurement was overall survival. Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analyses were used to determine the association between comorbidity and outcome. The study population consisted of 215 (87.40%) males and 31 (12.60%) females with a mean age of $62{\pm}11$ years. Median duration of follow-up was $47{\pm}31$ months. A total of 151 (61.38%) patents died during follow-up. Of those, 118 (47.97%) had at least one comorbidity. According to the ACE-27 scores, 128 (52.03%) patients had no comorbidity, 79 (32.11%) had mild, 33 (13.41%) had moderate, and 6 (2.45%) had severe comorbidities. Multivariate analysis indicated that moderate (p=0.002) and severe (p<0.001) comorbidity was significantly associated with decreased overall survival. In addition, age ${\geq}70$ years (p=0.002), delayed time of radical cystectomy >12 weeks (p=0.044), pelvic lymphadenectomy status (p=0.014), and TNM stage >T3 (p<0.001) were determined to be independent risk factors of overall survival. Increasing severity of comorbidity statistically correlated with decreased overall survival after radical cystectomy.
『Research on the Inheritance of Qingshan Suona Horn in Hunan from the Perspective of Dictation』
( Chen Xuan ) 인문사회과학예술융합학회 2018 인문사회과학예술융합학회지 Vol.2 No.2
Qingshan Suona Horn is a popular folk art form in Qingshanqiao District, Shigu Town, and Fenshui, Xiangtan County, Hunan Province. In 2006, it was listed as the first group of intangible cultural heritage of the country. Inheritors are important carriers and transmitters of intangible cultural heritage. By documenting the dictated records of the inheritors, and combining historical literature, it is helpful for us to understand Qingshan Suona Horns comprehensively. At the same time, this unique folk art needs more inheritors to carry it on.
Research of Resource Scheduling based on ACA-GA in the Cloud Computing
Xuan Chen,Wenfei Song,Zhaoguo Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.6
How to better conduct research resource scheduling has long been a research direction of cloud computing. This paper, aiming at slow convergence and easiness of falling local optimum of ant colony algorithm, has integrated genetic algorithm into the ant colony algorithm and obtained hybrid algorithm (ACA -GA); in the initial solution of the ant colony algorithm, it has adopted selection, crossover and mutation operations of genetic algorithm to obtain an effective initial solution; secondly, it has used the perception threshold of ant colony algorithm path setting to regulate individual selection optimal path; finally, it has improved volatile factor so as to significantly improve the updating efficiency of pheromone. The algorithm in the paper proved that the performance of the algorithm has been also significantly improved through classical test functions. Cloudsim platform shows that, the algorithm above mentioned reduces the time and cost spent in resource scheduling of, hence has some promotional value.
