Thermodynamic analysis of a novel adiabatic compressed air energy storage system with water cycle

A novel water cycle compressed air energy storage system (WC-CAES) is proposed to improve the energy storage density (ESD) and round trip efficiency (RTE) of A-CAES. The new system decreases electricity consumption by recovering and reusing the hydraulic pressure of water. The thermodynamic characteristics of WC-CAES are evaluated by energy and advanced exergy analysis method. When the air storage pressure of WC-CAES is equal to the minimum storage pressure of A-CAES (4.2 MPa), the ESD and generalized storage density increase by 5.85 % and 32.41 %, respectively. When the air storage pressure increases to the same level as A-CAES (7.2 MPa), ESD and generalized storage density increase by 112 % and 162 %, respectively. In addition, the RTE increases by 1.6 % when the air storage pressure is 4.2 MPa. WC-CAES is therefore verified to be an effective way to improve the performance of conventional A-CAES.
Insights into interfacial stability of Li6PS5Cl solid electrolytes with buffer layers

The large interfacial resistance seriously restricts the development of all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). In our work, first-principles calculations are employed to investigate the interfacial properties on lithium (Li) metal anode/Li6PS5Cl solid electrolyte (LPSCl) interface system as well as buffer layers (Li2S) effects. The stable interface structures, Li/LPSCl, L2S/LPSCl and Li/L2S, are established at atomic level. We find that PS4 tetrahedral structure has been seriously destroyed in Li/LPSCl interface, whereas the presence of Li2S buffer layers may smooth the interface without PS4 tetrahedral damage occurred. In addition, the electronic structure of interface indicates that solid electrolyte interphases are not easy to form on LPSCl surfaces considering buffer layers effects, which may improve the stability of anode/solid electrode interface. Moreover, the calculated energies of exchange ions between Li metal and solid electrolyte with buffer layers suggest that the Li2S interposition can suppress the atoms diffusion in LPSCl layers, and provide a smooth interface structure, which may promote the stability of Li/LPSCl interface. This work on the atomic scale will offer a useful perspective for designing high performance of solid electrolytes to enhance good cyclability in ASSLBs.
A Double-Layer Heartbeat Detection Algorithm Orienting to Embedded Heterogeneous Cluster

The heartbeat detection is an important technology to detect faults of cluster nodes. This paper proposes a Double-layer Heartbeat Detection Model and a Double-layer Heartbeat Detection Algorithm (DLHB) orienting to embedded heterogeneous clusters to obtain high availability of embedded heterogeneous clusters. This algorithm divides the nodes in the embedded heterogeneous cluster into different areas by their physical positions. In each node area, a node is selected as the master control node. The inter-area detection uses heartbeat ring mechanism. The intra-area detection can only be made among master control nodes. The experiment results show that, DLHB is more accurate in prediction compared with DHB, and can detect faults concurrently occurring on multiple nodes with less time compared with the heartbeat ring algorithm.
