Improving Interfacial Interactions of CF/PEEK Composites with Sulfonated Polyether Sulfone

        Tianning Ren,Guangming Zhu,Xiaoming Ren,Renjie Tian,Ben Li 한국섬유공학회 2021 Fibers and polymers Vol.22 No.1

Due to the limitation of surface inertness and wettability of carbon fibers (CF), the adhesion between Poly(etherether-ketone) (PEEK) resin matrix and CF is poor, which reduces the mechanical properties of CF/PEEK composites. Inorder to improve the interfacial performance between PEEK matrix and carbon fiber fabric, sulfonated-polyether-sulfone (s-PSF) was coated as a sizing agent on the surface of the carbon fiber to construct CF/PEEK composite interface. On one hand, the formation of hydrogen bonds between s-PSF and activated CF increases the adhesion between s-PSF and fibers. On theother hand, Good compatibility between S-PSF and PEEK, which improves the interface performance between PEEK andCF. The results showed that the mechanical properties and interface properties of CF/PEEK composite prepared by modifiedCF were improved to some extent. The flexural strength, flexural modulus, impact strength and interlaminar shear strength ofthe materials were increased by 57.5 %, 16.7 %, 44.2 % and 39.7 %, respectively. By introducing s-PSF as sizing agent intoCF/PEEK composite interface, the comprehensive properties of the material were effectively improved.

Role of Estrogen Receptor-α in the Regulation of Claudin-6 Expression in Breast Cancer Cells

        Liu Yafang,Wu Qiong,Ren Yue,Xu Xiaoming,Yu Lina,Zhang Mingzi,Zhang Ting,Li Yulin,Quan Chengshi 한국유방암학회 2011 Journal of breast cancer Vol.14 No.1

Purpose: In our previous studies we showed that upregulating claudin-6 (CLDN6) expression may contribute to preventing breast cancer, and that 17β-estradiol induces a concentration- and time-related effect on CLDN6 mRNA and protein expression in MCF-7 cells. However, the mechanisms of 17β-estradiol regulation of CLDN6 are still unclear. We determined the role of estrogen receptors in the regulation of CLDN6 expression in human breast cancer tissues and a cell line. Methods: CLDN6, estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) and estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) expression in breast cancer tissues were examined using immunohistochemistry. The human breast cancer cell line, MCF-7, which expresses ERα but not ERβ was used. CLDN6 and ERα expression were measured by reverse transcriptase-PCR, Western blotting and immunofluorescent staining. Treatments with propyl pyrazole triol (PPT) and ICI 182, 780 (ICI) were performed. Results: The results revealed that CLDN6 expression was related to ERα in breast cancer tissues (p=0.033). PPT, an ERα-selective ligand, upregulated CLDN6 expression at 10^(-5) mol/L after 24 hours. The effect of PPT on regulating CLDN6 expression in MCF-7 cells was blocked by ICI. Conclusion: These findings suggest that Erα reulates CLDN6 expression in breast cancer tissues and that 17β- estradiol induces CLDN6 expression through an ERα pathway in MCF-7 cells.

      • Improving Test Efficiency through Prioritization Based On Testing Dependency

        Na Zhang,Yangqiu Liu,Xiaoan Bao,Xiaoming Xie,Zhongtao Ren,Hui Lin 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.6

During the various iterations of software development, test case prioritization generally schedules test cases in order to increase test efficiency as soon as possible without reducing the scale of the test. It is noted that currently, many prioritization techniques are usually based on the assumption that the test cases are independent so as to reduce testing effort. However in the actual test, the dependencies and relations exist between the test cases. In this paper, we propose a new type of prioritization technique based on the relationship of dependencies between test cases. We gather the dependency information of a test suite and then put forward a weighted depth-first search algorithm to determine the most effective order. To assess our approach, an academic feasibility study and three industrial experiments are conducted. Evaluation results indicate that our proposed method can be used to improve the fault detection effectiveness when compared with random ordering and some existed prioritization techniques which are based on function coverage.

Flavonoids in Resina Draconis protect against pulmonary fibrosis via the TGF‑β1/NOTCH1 pathway

        Liteng Yang,Xin Liu,Ning Zhang,Gaohui Wu,Lifang Chen,Jingyi Xu,Xi Ren,Xiaoming Jiang,Zhijing Huang 대한독성 유전단백체 학회 2020 Molecular & cellular toxicology Vol.16 No.2

Background It is known that flavonoids in Resina Draconis (FRD) have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, but the function and mechanisms of FRD against pulmonary fibrosis remain unknown. Objective The study aimed to study the effect and mechanism of FRD on pulmonary fibrosis. Methods Pulmonary fibroblasts were isolated and identified. After treatment with transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 and FRD-containing serum, expressions of TGF-β1, Jagged1, Notch1, alpha-smooth muscle actin, and collagen I were examined using real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot. Besides, the related proteins were verified in rats with bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis. Results We successfully isolated and identified pulmonary fibroblasts and proved that FRD-containing serum inhibits proliferation and downregulates Notch1 expression in TGF-β1-induced fibroblasts. Moreover, our results indicate that FRD might alleviate pulmonary fibrosis via the Jagged1/Notch1 signaling pathways in vivo. Conclusion Flavonoids in Resina Draconis might play a key role in pulmonary fibrosis via critical pathways, especially the TGF-β1 and NOTCH1 signaling pathways.
