        Fault Detection Based on a Combined Approach of FA-CP-ELM with Application to Wind Turbine System

        In this paper, a novel wind turbine (WT) fault detection method, based on the Partial Least Squares (PLS), Firefly Algorithm (FA), Chaos Map (CP) and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM), which is proposed and explained in detail. The proposed method includes two procedures: a WT mathematical model with PLS and a prediction model with FA-CP-ELM. Since the WT system is modeled as a system using PLS, the ELM has been optimized by the FA and CP to improve the predictive performance. Then, it’s calculated the residual between the mathematical model and the predicted model. If a fault occurs, the residual will increase accordingly and exceed the tolerance range. Hence, a fault can be detected quickly. To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach, the wind turbine system is tested with a fault point set in this system. According to the results of the example, this proposed method is found to achieve better performance.

        Impact of Grafting Density on the Self-Assembly and Hydrophilicity of Succinylated Collagen

        Modification of protein could give their new functionality but would affect their intrinsic property and activity. In this paper, a series of succinylated collagen (SCol(n/1)) (n≥1) were prepared by modification of collagen with succinic anhydride at different molar ratio to amino groups amount of collagen. The impact of grafting density on the intrinsic self-assembly and additional hydrophilicity of succinylated collagen was explored. The results revealed that excessive grafting density of succinylated collagen would improve their hydrophilicity but weaken their self-assembly property, although the triple helix of collagen could be reserved after succinylation. SCol(1/1) (grafting density of 17%) with self-assembly property and good hydrophilicity was chosen to compare with native collagen. Compared to native collagen, thermostability of SCol(1/1) decreased slightly, however, SCol(1/1) could form softer hydrogel, which was more favorable for the proliferation of NIH/3 T3. The present work would help us to further understand the importance of grafting density for the design of modified collagen with intrinsic self-assembly property and additional new functionality.

        Torque-Angle-Based Direct Torque Control for Interior Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor Drivers in Electric Vehicles

        A modified direct torque control (DTC) method based on torque angle is proposed for interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drivers used in electric vehicles (EVs). Given the close relationship between torque and torque angle, proper voltage vectors are selected by the proposed DTC method to change the torque angle rapidly and regulate the torque quickly. The amplitude and angle of the voltage vectors are determined by the torque loop and stator flux-linkage loop, respectively, with the help of the position of the stator flux linkage. Furthermore, to satisfy the torque performance request of EVs, the nonlinear dead-time of the invertor caused by parasitic capacitances is considered and compensated to improve steady torque performance. The stable operation region of the IPMSM DTC driver for voltage and current limits is investigated for reliability. The experimental results prove that the proposed DTC has good torque performance with a brief control structure.

        DC Bus Voltage Stabilization Control Considering Power Loss of the Full-Quadrant Operated Inverter

        This paper proposed a DC bus voltage stabilization control strategy of the full-quadrant operated three-phase grid-connected inverter, of which the reactive current is not 0. The strategy considers the power loss of the switches caused by both active and reactive current, which would aff ect the dynamic performance of voltage loop. In this condition, the power loss can be seen as a disturbance of the voltage loop so it should be taken into consideration in the design process. Besides, the voltage loop is the outer loop of the active current loop. The active and reactive current are coupled because of the coordinate transformation. As a result, the interference of the reactive current would aff ect the DC bus voltage through current coupling. The proposed control strategy considers the power loss and designs the outer voltage loop. Also the decoupling current controller based on complex vectors is discussed. With the proposed DC bus voltage stabilization strategy, the inverter can realize good dynamic and static performances. The control principle is analyzed in detail. The design of the control loops are discussed. The infl uences of the reactive current on the DC voltage and active current are analyzed. Finally, the simulation and experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.

This generator has two sets of stator windings embedded into the stator slots. The power winding produces the VFAC power to feed the loads, and the control winding is connected to the static excitation controller to control the generator for output voltage regulation with speed and load variations. On the basis of the idea of power balance, an instantaneous slip frequency control (ISFC) strategy using the information of both the output voltage and the output power is used in this system. A series of experiments is carried out on a 15 kW prototype for verification. Results show that the system has good static and dynamic performance in a wide speed range, which demonstrates that the ISFC strategy is suitable for this system.

        Current Decoupling Scheme of Three-Phase Inverter with Complex Coefficient Controller

        In the control of three-phase system, AC signals are always changed into DC signals by synchronous coordinate transformation. A decoupling control scheme in the dq synchronous reference frame (SRF) is proposed to realize active and reactive current decoupling of three-phase inverter. The complex vector control model is established in SRF. Diff erent from the model established in static reference frame, the SRF control model can refl ect the coupling characteristic of the active and reactive current. As a result, the PI controller with complex coeffi cient can be applied to realize current decoupling. In this paper, the coupling characteristic of three-phase system is analyzed. A novel complex PI controller design method is proposed based on the SRF control model and the coeffi cients are calculated. And its implementation in the control loop is given. Compared with existing PI controllers with real or complex coeffi cients, the proposed complex PI controller can realize completely the decoupling of the active and reactive current in three-phase system. Besides, the control scheme can make current loop fulfi ll the expected symmetrical bandwidth, so as to realize a higher eff ective set-off frequency. As a result, the inverter can achieve well dynamic performance. Finally, the simulation and experimental results are given to verify the theoretical analysis.

        Ketohexokinase-dependent metabolism of cerebral endogenous fructose in microglia drives diabetes-associated cognitive dysfunction

        Dementia, as an advanced diabetes-associated cognitive dysfunction (DACD), has become the second leading cause of death among diabetes patients. Given that little guidance is currently available to address the DACD process, it is imperative to understand the underlying mechanisms and screen out specific therapeutic targets. The excessive endogenous fructose produced under high glucose conditions can lead to metabolic syndrome and peripheral organ damage. Although generated by the brain, the role of endogenous fructose in the exacerbation of cognitive dysfunction is still unclear. Here, we performed a comprehensive study on leptin receptor-deficient T2DM mice and their littermate m/m mice and revealed that 24-week-old db/db mice had cognitive dysfunction and excessive endogenous fructose metabolism in the hippocampus by multiomics analysis and further experimental validation. We found that the rate-limiting enzyme of fructose metabolism, ketohexokinase, is primarily localized in microglia. It is upregulated in the hippocampus of db/db mice, which enhances mitochondrial damage and reactive oxygen species production by promoting nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase 4 (NOX4) expression and mitochondrial translocation. Inhibiting fructose metabolism via ketohexokinase depletion reduces microglial activation, leading to the restoration of mitochondrial homeostasis, recovery of structural synaptic plasticity, improvement of CA1 pyramidal neuron electrophysiology and alleviation of cognitive dysfunction. Our findings demonstrated that enhanced endogenous fructose metabolism in microglia plays a dominant role in diabetes-associated cognitive dysfunction and could become a potential target for DACD.

        Design and optimization of novel transceiver device for one‑way single‑wire power transfer

        The further development of wireless power transfer technology is hindered by the limiting relationship between transmission distance, transmission efficiency, and size of the coupling mechanism. Thus, a feasible solution was provided by one-way single-wire power transfer. First, a horn-type mode conversion device was proposed in this study by analyzing the principle of one-way single-wire power transfer. Second, the system structure was designed to save materials and reduce the volume of space. The transmission efficiency of the system was improved, and the operating frequency was reduced by optimizing the parameters of the mode conversion device. Finally, the feasibility and structural applicability of the one-way single-wire power transfer method proposed in this study were proved by the experimental results.
