On Baskakov-Szasz Type Operators
Vijay Gupta,Prerna Maheshwari 경북대학교 자연과학대학 수학과 2003 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.43 No.3
Baskakov-Szasz type operators were recently introduced by Gupta and Srivastava in 1993. They obtained direct theorems in simultaneous approximation for the linear combinations of these new sequence of operators. In the present paper, we extend the results of Gupta and Srivastava and obtain a converse result for the linear combinations of these Baskakov-Szasz type operators.
A NEW CLASS OF DURRMEYER OPERATORS
Vijay Gupta 장전수학회 2013 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.23 No.2
In the present paper, we introduce a new sequence of Durrmeyer type operators and present an asymptotic formula and a direct results in ordinary approximation in terms of modulus of continuity of the function.
An Estimate on the Rate of Convergence of Bezier Type Summation-integral Operators
Vijay Gupta,Vipin Vasishtha,Mridul KumarGupta 경북대학교 자연과학대학 수학과 2003 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.43 No.3
In the present paper, we introduce a new sequence of linear positive operators Bn (f; x), which is the modified form of recently introduced sequence of linear positive operators [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 225(1998), 660-672]. Here we obtain an estimate on the rate of convergence of Bn; (f; x) for functions of bounded variation. In the end we also propose an open problem for the readers.
Vijay Gupta ..et al. KYUNGPOOK UNIVERSITY 1996 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.36 No.2
In this paper, we study the rate of convergence of modified Baskakov operators forfunction of bounded variation, using some results of probability theory
Vijay Gupta ...et al KYUNGPOOK UNIVERSITY 1998 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.38 No.2
In this paper we study the rate of pointwise convergence of modified Baskakov type operators at those points x∈ (0,∞) at which the one sided limits f(x±) exist.
Direct Theorem in Simultaneous Approximation for Szasz-Mirakyan-Baskakov Type Operators
Vijay Gupta ...et al KYUNGPOOK UNIVERSITY 2001 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.41 No.2
In the present paper, we obtain a direct result if terms of higher order modulus of continuity in simultaneous approximation for the linear combination of recently introduced Szasz-Mirakyan-Baskakov type operators.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to highlight the role of lateral arthroplasty along with interposition of the buccal fat pad (BFP) in the management of Sawhney type III temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis. Materials and Methods: Ten patients with TMJ ankylosis (7 unilateral and 3 bilateral, total of 13 joints) were treated with lateral arthroplasty and BFP interposition. The bony bridge of the ankylotic mass on the lateral aspect was resected, leaving a distance of 1.5 to 2.0 cm from the base of the skull to the neck of the condyle. The condyle was left intact. Coronoidectomy was performed on the ipsilateral side via the same approach in all cases. The inter-incisal opening was measured at that time, and if it was less than 35 mm, contralateral coronoidectomy was performed by using the intra-oral approach. After satisfactory inter-incisal mouth opening (≥35 mm) was achieved, the TMJ surgical site was revisited, and BFP was retrieved and used to cover the lateral aspect of the medially placed condyle. Results: With lateral arthroplasty, the medially displaced condyle can be left in-situ to maintain the mandibular ramal height and function and to act as a growth center in children. Interposition of the BFP prevents reformation of the lateral bony bridge that was removed. Conclusion: Lateral arthroplasty along with interpositioning of the BFP is a novel technique for managing Sawhney type III ankylosis that achieves management goals while avoiding complex and advanced reconstructive surgical procedures.

Study Design: Prospective case series. Purpose: To study the safety and feasibility of cotransplantation of bone marrow stem cells and autologous olfactory mucosa in chronic spinal cord injury. Overview of Literature: Stem cell therapies are a novel method in the attempt to restitute heavily damaged tissues. We discuss our experience with this modality in postspinal cord injury paraplegics. Methods: The study includes 9 dorsal spine injury patients with American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) Impairment Scale (AIS) A neurological impairment who underwent de-tethering of the spinal cord followed by cotransplantation with bone marrow stem cells and an olfactory mucosal graft. Participants were evaluated at the baseline and at 6 monthly intervals. Safety and tolerability were evaluated through the monitoring for adverse events and magnetic resonance imaging evaluation. Efficacy assessment was done through neurological and functional outcome measures. Results: Surgery was tolerated well by all participants. No significant difference in the ASIA score was observed, although differences in the Functional Independence Measure and Modified Ashworth Scale were statistically significant. No significant complication was observed in any of our patients, except for neurogenic pain in one participant. The follow-up magnetic resonance imaging evaluation revealed an increase in the length of myelomalacia in seven participants. Conclusions: The cotransplantation of bone marrow stem cells and olfactory mucosa is a safe, feasible and viable procedure in AIS A participants with thoracic level injuries, as assessed at the 24-month follow-up. No efficacy could be demonstrated. For application, further large-scale multicenter studies are needed.

Endometrium receptivity is a complex mechanism of intricate pathways that lead to the shift from the proliferative to the secretory phase. Our goal was to identify high-ranking differentially expressed genes and study the pathways associated with the phenomenon. Raw data were retrieved from six GEO datasets and 705 DEGs were identified through robust ranking aggregation after the integration of five datasets. 20 key genes were identified that were further re-validated in an additional dataset. Supporting evidence through the experimental references confirms them as major biomarkers of the shift from the proliferative to the secretory phase.
