This study aimed to evaluate the encapsulation of pomelo (Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck) essential oils using the spray drying technique. The parameters of the process include concentration of maltodextrin (20–35% by wt%/wt%), concentration of essential oil (1–2.5% by wt%/wt%), inlet temperature of spray drying (120–180 °C), and feed flow rates (120–240 mL/h) were soundly examined. The utilization of suitable parameters as the concentration of maltodextrin at 30% (by wt%/wt%), the concentration of essential oil at 1.5% (by wt%/wt%), the inlet temperature of 140 °C, and feed flow rate of 120 mL/h showed the highest drying yields (90.05%), microencapsulation yield (75.59%), and microencapsulation efficiency (89.44%). TGA and DSC results verified higher stability of Citrus grandis essential oil after encapsulation. The encapsulation of pomelo essential oils maintained most of the major components in comparison with the non-encapsulated essential oils without any significant changing in powder-obtained quality.

hundred and twenty six Vietnamese traditional herbals belonging to 59 families were screened forof seven plants, including Euphorbia thymifolia (leaf), Gnetum montanum (stem), Heterosmilax erythrantha(root), Morus alba (leaf), Syzygium formosum (leaf), Jussiaea repens (aerial parts), and Camellia sinensis (leaf),exhibited significant antioxidant activities. 베트남에서 수자원은 새로운 분야다. 2003년까지는 농업ㆍ농촌지역개발부(Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development)가 지표수를 수문학적 관점에서 산정하여 관리하였으며, 지질ㆍ광물자원부터(the General Department of Geology and Minerals)에서 지하수를 조사하고 산정하였다. 이때까지 베트남에서는 `수자원`이라는 개념은 존재하지 않았으며, 물을 자원으로 생각하지 않아서 수자원 정책이나 수자원관리 체계가 마련되지 않은 상황이었다. 2003년 자연자원환경부(Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) 수립 이후로, 수자원관리 체계가 점차 정립되었다. 2010년부터 베트남의 수자원관리는 크게 발전하였다. 2013년에는 수자원법이 발효되었고, 수자원 관련기관들이 설립되었다. 이후 수자원부문에 대한 투자 가치가 인정되어, 수자원부문에 대한 국가 예산 투자가 상당히 증가하였다. 구체적으로 수자원법수행 및 제도 구축을 위한 투자가 있었는데, 이와 관련하여 5개의 시행령, 22개의 시행규칙 및 20개의 국무총리 고시가 발표되었다. 또한 수자원관리를 위하여 조직 체질개선, 수자원 기초조사 등의 수자원 조사ㆍ감독 역량 강화, 수질오염 제한 및 수자원 보호, 수자원 개발ㆍ이용에 대한 효율적 관리, 국제 협력, 수자원부문의 과학 및 기술 발전, 수자원 법에 대한 선전, 국민의 수자원에 대한 인식 제고 등 다양한 노력이 있었다. 향후 2016-2020년 동안, 베트남 자연자원환경부는 수자원의 계량화, 수자원 인프라 투자 및 거버넌스 구축을 위한 국제협력 강화 등 수자원관리 역량을 향상시키기 위하여 필요한 사항을 점검하고 이에 집중할 것이다. 본 연구는 베트남의 지난 국가수자원계획의 성과를 평가해보고 그 한계점을 파악한 후, 2016-2020 국가수자원계획에 반영할 개선점을 진단하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 베트남 수자원 분야의 협력개발 및 프로젝트에 있어 훌륭한 기반이 될 것이다.
Focal Stack Based Light Field Coding for Refocusing Applications

Since light field (LF) image has huge data volume, it requires high-performance compression technique for efficient transmission and storage of its data. Camera users may like to represent parts of image at different levels of focus at their choice anytime. To address this refocusing functionality, in this paper, we first render a focal stack consisting of multi-focus images, then compress it instead of original LF data. The proposed method has advantage of minimizing the amount of LF data to realize the targeted refocusing applications. Our experiment results show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art for LF image compression method.

Morphology evolution of the active layer in bulk hetero-junction organic photovoltaic is modeled and visualized. The width of the phase domain can be predicted using the relationship of characteristics length and evolution time of the process. The 3D numerical simulation of the PCBM/P3HT blend morphology evolution with respect to time is presented. It is observed that the domain width of composition phase can be predicted by using the relationship between value of characteristic length R(t) and evolution time t.
Methylation Profile of BRCA1, RASSF1A and ER in Vietnamese Women with Ovarian Cancer

DNA methylation is considered a promising biomarkers for diagnosis of cancer in general and of ovarian cancer in particular. In our study, we validated the accuracy of methylation specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP) to analyze the methylation pattern of BRCA1, RASSF1A and ER in 59 and 10 Vietnamese patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and benign ovarian tumors, respectively. We found methylation of BRCA1, RASSF1A and ER in 11/59 (18.6%), 40/59 (67.8%) and 15/59 (25.4%) of EOC cases, while methylation of BRCA1 was only detected in 2/10 (20%) benign ovarian patients. Forty five out of the 59 EOCs (78%) demonstrated methylation at one or more genes. The methylation frequency of RASSF1A was significantly associated with EOC (p<0.0005). No significant association was observed between methylation status of these genes and the clinical and pathological parameters of tumors collected from Vietnamese women suffering from ovarian cancer.

This paper presents the application of the bond valence method to estimate the valence charge distribution in several perovskite systems: La1xPbxMnO3 (x=0.1-0.5), La0.6Sr0. - xTixMnO3 (x=0.0-0.25) and La1xSrxCoO3 (x=0.1-0.5); the reviewing of their crystal structures is also incorporated. The results showed the failure of the elastic bonding mechanism in all studied systems and revealed the general deficit of the valence charge in their unit cells. This valence deficit was not associated with the structural defects and was not equally localized in all coordination spheres. As the content of substitution increased, the charge deficit declined systematically from balanced level, signifying the transfer of valence charge from the O6 to O12 spheres. This transfer depended on the valence deviation of spheres and the average reached near 2 electron per unit cell. The possible impact of the limitted accuracy of the available structural data on the bond valence results has also been considered.
