Valeriy A. Achkasov,Marya S. Rozanova 숙명여자대학교 아시아여성연구원 2013 OMNES: The Journal of Multicultural Society Vol.4 No.1
All around the globe metropolitan cities are becoming truly multiethnic and multicultural. In this paper, St. Petersburg is explored as a case study of a city that adjusts to new massive migration inflows in the course of rapid transformation from the Soviet “closed” city to the inclusive global city. This transformation is accompanied by increasing intolerance of ethnic, racial, religious, and cultural differences. Recognizing these challenges, the St. Petersburg government launched the Tolerance-1 (2006-2010) and Tolerance-2 (2011-2015) Programs. The objective of this effort was to establish tolerance as the city’s core value – its distinguishing feature – as well as a supra-ethnic identity among increasingly diverse inhabitants. Also, the paper examines the challenges of the migrant’s integration into the forming multicultural society of St. Petersburg, focusing in particular on cultural and instrumental integration of migrants.
On the stability of a Jensen type functional equation on groups
Valeriy A. Fauiziev,Prasanna K. Sahoo 대한수학회 2005 대한수학회보 Vol.42 No.4
In this paper we establish the stability of a Jensen typefunctional equation, namely f(xy) -f(xy^{-1}) = 2 f(y), on someclasses of groups. We prove that any groupA can be embeddedinto some group G such that the Jensen type functional equation is stable on any metabelian group, GL(n,C), SL(n,C), and T(n,C).

The paper summarizes the irradiation test and post-irradiation examination (PIE) data for the U-Mo low-enriched fuel thatwas irradiated in the MIR reactor under the RERTR Program. The PIE data were analyzed for both full-size fuel rods andmini-rods with atomized powder dispersed in Al matrix as well as with additions of 2%, 5% and 13% of silicon in the matrixand ZrN protective coating on the fuel particles. The full-size fuel rods were irradiated up to an average burnup of ~ 60%235U; the mini-rods were irradiated to an averageburnup of ~ 85%235U. The presented data show a significant increase of the void fraction in the U-Mo alloy as the U-235burnup rises from ~ 40% up to ~ 85%. The effect of irradiation test conditions and U-235 burnup were analyzed with regard tothe formation of an interaction layer between the matrix and fuel particles as well as generation of porosity in the U-Mo alloy. Shown here are changes in distribution of U fission products as the U-235 burnup increases from ~ 40% up to ~ 85%.

<P>Cytoskeletal proteins are known to sculpt the structural architecture of cells. However, their role as bridges linking the functional crosstalk of different ion channels is unknown. Here, we demonstrate that a small conductance Ca(2+)-activated K(+) channels (SK2 channel), present in a variety of cells, where they integrate changes in intracellular Ca(2+) concentration [Ca(2+)(i)] with changes in K(+) conductance and membrane potential, associate with L-type Ca(2+) channels; Ca(v)1.3 and Ca(v)1.2 through a physical bridge, alpha-actinin2 in cardiac myocytes. SK2 channels do not physically interact with L-type Ca(2+) channels, instead, the 2 channels colocalize via their interaction with alpha-actinin2 cytoskeletal protein. The association of SK2 channel with alpha-actinin2 localizes the channel to the entry of external Ca(2+) source, which regulate the channel function. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the functions of SK2 channels in atrial myocytes are critically dependent on the normal expression of Ca(v)1.3 Ca(2+) channels. Null deletion of Ca(v)1.3 channel results in abnormal function of SK2 channel and prolongation of repolarization and atrial arrhythmias. Our study provides insight into the molecular mechanisms of the coupling of SK2 channel with voltage-gated Ca(2+) channel, and represents the first report linking the coupling of 2 different types of ion channels via cytoskeletal proteins.</P>

<P>Previous data suggest that L-type Ca2+ channels containing the Cav1.3(alpha(1D)) subunit are expressed mainly in neurons and neuroendocrine cells, whereas those containing the Cav1.2(alpha1C) subunit are found in the brain, vascular smooth muscle, and cardiac tissue. However, our previous report as well as others have shown that Cav1.3 Ca2+ channel-deficient mice (Cav1.3(-/-)) demonstrate sinus bradycardia with a prolonged PR interval. In the present study, we extended our study to examine the role of the Cav1.3(alpha1D) Ca2+ channel in the atria of Cav1.3(-/-) mice.</P>

Kemerovo is an industrial region of the Russian Federation characterized by highly developed mining, chemical, metallurgical and power industries. Many of the factories were closed down due to the socioeconomical crisis in the early 90's, and economic potential of the survivors has also decreased significantly. Paradoxically, this has led to the improvement of the ecological situation in the region and elimination of exposure to many chemical carcinogens. This factor, in combination with the improvement of oncological care, might be expected to have lead to a decline of cancer incidence and mortality in the region. To assess trends of cancer incidence and mortality in Kemerovo Region, we therefore carried out an analysis of relevant epidemiological data during 1991-2010. In fact, a significant increase of cancer incidence overall was revealed during 2001-2010. Male cancer incidence was significantly higher than female cancer incidence. Regarding gastric cancer incidence, statistically significant differences during 2001-2010 were found only for men, and male incidence exceeded female incidence. Concerning colorectal cancer incidence, it was lower during 2001-2005 and 2006-2010 as compared to the period of 1991-1996. Lung cancer incidence was significantly higher during 1991-2000 compared to 2001-2010. Among urban populations, cancer incidence was higher in comparison with rural population, but a gradual steady convergence of trends of cancer incidence among urban and rural populations was noted. Lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, non-melanoma skin cancer, and gastric cancer are the most prevalent cancer forms in Kemerovo Region. There were no differences in cancer mortality between 2001-2005 and 2006-2010; however, male cancer mortality exceeded female cancer mortality. A similar situation was observed for gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and lung cancer. Cancer mortality among urban populations exceeded mortality among rural population, for both genders. We suggest that these data can be used for development of modern programs of cancer prevention and early diagnostics in industrial regions of Siberia.

We identified different nano-carbon species such as graphene nanoplatelets, graphite flakes and carbon nanotubes dispersed in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone using a novel sensor structure based on a “deep” silicon barrier working as a photoelectrical transducer. Each nano-carbon particle has specific signature in both 2D photocurrent distribution and photocurrent dependencies on bias changing surface band-bending. Additionally, all nano-carbon particles have characteristic features in the time-dependent evolution of photocurrent. The obtained results can be explained by the influence of nano-carbon molecules' local electric field on the recombination parameters of defect centers on the silicon surface.

Old Russian Legation(1890) has been attracted public attention in terms of politics and foreign affairs than architectural style because of conditions of location and historical incident. Though it was heavily damaged during the Korean war, and only the tower has been restored, it is very important in architectural history in Korea, because it is the oldest western style brick building which is existing with the old bishop's house in Myeong-Dong. But it has been impossible to reveal exactly the original form as there has been few reliable materials(picture, drawing, document) and it's remains were nearly destroyed owing to development of the surroundings. Recently the decisive document(site outline map) was found, and new research on the architect Sabatine was studied. So I can get into close with the original form by the results. In this study, I tried to conjecture the original form of the old Russian legation(the size, style, plan and indoor space, arrangement of attached facilities) and I checked the location and structure of the room where King Gojong stayed when he took refuge, and the use of the passage in the basement.
