The Role of Digital Zakat Towards Economic Development at Slums in Indonesia

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reveal that digital Zakat has a role in economic development. Even when disasters hit densely populated areas in big cities, Zakat is distributed quickly and precisely. Research design, data, and methodology: This study uses literature studies with an approach to Islamic economics and sociology of society. The authenticity of this research is about the potential role of digital Zakat which can create sustainable economic development in slums. Result: The results of the study concluded that economic development in slums could be carried out if it collaborated with Zakat institutions which were carried out in several stages. The existence of sustainable solidarity is a serious threat in the effort to achieve development goals and this is very regrettable by almost everyone because it can increase economic inequality. Conclusion: Strategy development is obtained from empirical evidence, the construction of slums that have been carried out by other countries in various parts of the world who also have the same problem. Although statistically not analyzed the relationship between the potential for Zakat and the level of welfare of densely populated settlements, theoretically digital Zakat can be one of the pillars to achieve community welfare through the distribution of Zakat.

A Relative Expression of Xa7 Gene Controlling Bacterial Leaf Blight Resistance in Indonesian Local Rice Population (Oryza sativa L.)

Discovery of new alleles at important gene loci through allele mining could support the rice improvement program to sustain national food security. Evaluation of the existing Indonesian local rice landraces is an important point to detect the potential of functional alleles. One of the bacterial leaf blight (BLB) resistance alleles, Xa7 was detected in Indonesian rice landrace germplasm, Parekaligolara. To validate this potential allele, field evaluation on the segregating population, expression analysis using real time RT-PCR, and sequencing were carried out. Two selected Parekaligolara progenies lines ($F_4$ and $F_6$) from double crosses with other selected landraces were clearly more resistant to a dominant Indonesian BLB, Race IV. Specific primers of Xa7-LD40 successfully amplified the alleles of $F_4$ and $F_6$ lines approximately 300 bp in length. The amplicon sequenced using vector-targeted primers, resulting 264 bp which were flanked between 602 and 866 bp sites. The translated sequence which produced 60 amino acids (open reading frame) ORF, showed homology with the encoding gene associated with the defense system to biotic stress, BTB/POZ. As integrated researches for many potential biotic and abiotic stresses alleles on Indonesian landraces germplasm, this outcome expectedly supports rice landraces utilization for developing of elite cultivars which survive on global changed conditions and benefiting to national food security.

Charge Transfer between STM Tip and Au(100) in Dry, H₂O, and D₂O Atmospheres

Charge transfer between STM tip and Au(100) has been investigated by using a Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) technique in dry, $H_2O$, and $D_2O$ atmospheres. Dry atmosphere was indicated by humidity as low as 5 % and high humidity as high as 98% was managed by injecting $H_2O$ and $D_2O$ to the chamber. The current decayed more slowly in high humidity than in dry atmosphere. The plateau currents were found to appear at separations larger than ca. $5{\AA}$ where the current decay stopped depending on applied bias voltages. The polarity dependence was observed at the STM junction between Pt-Ir tip and the gold. On the contrary, little dependence was seen at the one between Au tip and the substrate electrode.

Determinants of Stock Liquidity: Forward-Looking Information, Corporate Governance, and Asymmetric Information

The more liquid the capital market, the more attractive it will be for investors to place their money in the capital market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence stock liquidity of manufacturing sector companies listed on the stock exchange in Indonesia. The independent variables used in this study are forward-looking information disclosure, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and board activity with information asymmetry as an intervening variable and stock liquidity as the dependent variable. The population of this study is manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange (IDX). Samples are selected based on the random sampling method, and the number of samples is calculated based on the Slovin formula. The sample was 59 manufacturers, and data was annual reports (for 2 years) and stock transactions from 2016 to 2017. The results of the study showed that forward-looking information disclosure had a significant effect on information asymmetry. Information asymmetry and foreign ownership have a significant impact on stock liquidity, whereas information asymmetry mediates the relationship between forward-looking disclosures and stock liquidity. Furthermore, the accuracy of information about the certainty of business activity both now and in the future can instill confidence in stakeholders in interacting and cooperating.

The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility on the Relationship between Financial Performance and Company Value

This study investigates the company value determinant by observing the effect of financial performance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its role in moderating performance achievement. The macro-economy variables such as inflation and interest rate are also used as the controlling variable. This research employs the sample of manufacturing companies of the food and beverage sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study used panel data from 2013 to 2017, with the moderating regression analysis. The result shows that the profitability of the current or previous period affects the company's value. CSR and company size affect the company value at the next period shows that stock price, which reflects the investor's perception today, will be affected by the CSR, Size, and Return On Asset of the previous year. CSR also shows that it can be the substitute for profitability since a company that performs CSR is the one that has a good performance. The regression moderating model and the profitability of the previous period have a higher explanatory power than the higher R square value in explaining company value.

Muslim Tourist Perceptions of Korea’s Destination Attributes

Destination attributes represent the attractiveness of destinations that pull tourists to visit them. It is necessary for destination marketers to understand what motivates tourist to choose certain destination attributes before they travel. Consideration of religious tourists plays a significant aspect in influencing travel decisions and especially destination choices. For instance, the appearance of Islamic religious attributes in the destinations could delight Muslim tourists and stimulate their satisfaction and loyalty. This study examines the effects of Korea’s destination attributes on Muslim tourists’ satisfaction and their loyalty to South Korea. This proposed study takes a quantitative approach with the purposive sampling method by distributing the survey on-site and online to actual Muslim tourists.

본 논문은 인도네시아에서 발행되는 주요 영자신문의 일부 기사에서 공개된 인도네시아 사전의 여성에 대한 여성혐오적 묘사와 문구에 사람들이 어떻게 반응하는지 조사한다. 긍정적인 의미보다 부정적인 의미의 표현이 많기 때문에 이러한 표현들은 사회에서 긍정적인 의미보다 부정적으로 더 많이 사용하는 것으로 추정된다. 한 성별에 대한 언어적 차별은 실제로 마라톤 논쟁으로 이어졌는데, 변화는 2021 년 1 분기에 발생하였다. 더 이상 사용되지 않는 것으로 표시된 문구도 있고 추가된 문구도 있으며 변경되지 않은 문구도 있다. 언어 위원회의 변경 사항은 대중이 온라인 버전에 일부 기능을 제공하여 사전의 추가 개선에 기여할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문은 뉴스에 대한 비판적 담론 분석 프레임워크를 구현하고 Coh-Metrix 방식을 사용하여 텍스트에서 불일치, 불안, 동정, 기대 및 정보성의 5 가지 토포이를 식별한다. This paper examines how people react to the misogynistic descriptions and phrases for woman entry in the Indonesian dictionary revealed in selected articles in the leading English newspaper published in Indonesia. With the number of phrases with negative connotation more than the positive ones, it is assumed that the society use them more frequently than the positive counterparts. The linguistic discrimination of one gender over the other, indeed, lead to marathon debates, but only in the first quarter of the year of 2021 that the changes takes place. There are some phrases marked as obsolete, some are added, and some remain unchanged. The changes made by the language board also make possible for public to contribute for further improvement of the dictionary by providing some features on their online version. There are 11 indices are ex-tracted form lexical aspects, syntactic aspects and discourse aspects in Coh-Metrix 3.0 tool. Indonesian speaker’s use of response marker well: a corpus analysis

This paper examines the use of well as a response marker by non-native speakers of English in the ICNALE SD corpus. The study involves 30 male and female Indonesian speakers, 25-33 years old of age with A2-B2 level of English proficiency. Data are taken only from the questionanswer sections of two tasks in the interview and Antconc 3.5.7 version tool is used to locate the marker. The data are analyzed based on the framework proposed by Muller (2005) and the findings indicate that the most frequent occurrence of well is in mid-sentence position and the most frequently used function is to preface indirect answers and introduce answers to wh-questions. Conclusive and quotative well and other functions such as introducing topic shift are not overtly observable from the data. The function of well is pragmatic rather than semantic in which the information in the talk is at secondary importance.
