Purpose: These in-line clinical case series aim to assess the cumulative implant and definitive prosthesis survival rate of full edentulous arches in periodontally compromised patients using 4 to 6 Bone Level Tapered (BLT) implants (Straumann, Basel, Switzerland) for up to 3 years of loading. Materials and Methods: Ninety-four implants were placed in 20 patients under the full controlled principle of in-line clinical case series (14 successive days of surgery). Each subject received an immediate loaded and complete-arch provisional prosthesis during 24 hours after implant surgery. The definitive prostheses were delivered within 6 to 8 weeks after implant insertion. A life table method was used to determine implant cumulative survival rate. Results: Up to 3 years of loading, our results demonstrated a cumulative implant survival rate of 98.94%. The definitive prosthesis survival rate was 100%. Conclusions: These results support the use of BLT implants according to the ProArch concept for immediate placement and immediate loading of full edentulous arches in periodontally compromised patients. These in-line case series need to be followed by long-term clinical evaluations.
A Bibliometrics Analysis of Research on Early Childhood Education in 2022
Thi-Lam Bui,Lien – Kim Thi Tran,Thi-Tham Tran,Dung-Thi My Nguyen,Ben-Phạm,Hung-Sy Ho,Linh-Phuong Hoang,Anh-Duc Hoang The Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Ass 2024 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhoo Vol.18 No.2
Introduction Methodology Results Conclusion, Recommendations, and Future Research Directions This research aims to find the research focus and to highlight authors, journals, and documents on early childhood education (ECE) in 2022. This article analyzed a dataset with 1586 Clarivate Web of Science indexed articles on this topic, using descriptive, co-occurrence and thematic analyses. The authors applied the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) flow to comply with the dataset. Excel, the R program in the Biblioshiny package, and VOSviewer version 1.7 were used for the descriptive and bibliographic analyses. The findings of this paper demonstrate the remarkable contribution of researchers from the United States and China in terms of research quantity and impact, as well as their collaboration with different researchers. The findings revealed four topics: language and speech; programmes, policies and their impact on children and preschool teachers; behaviour of preschool children; the quality of ECE. In addition, we figured out the top influential authors and journals. This study provided an overview of research in ECE in 2022 and highlighted essential issues that need to be focused on by ECE researchers and practitioners.
Terpenylated coumarins as SIRT1 activators isolated from Ailanthus altissima.
Dao, Trong-Tuan,Tran, Tien-Lam,Kim, Jayeon,Nguyen, Phi-Hung,Lee, Eun-Hee,Park, Junsoo,Jang, Ik-Soon,Oh, Won-Keun American Society of Pharmacognosy ; American Chemi 2012 Journal of natural products Vol.75 No.7

Four new terpenylated coumarins (1-4) were isolated from the stem bark of Ailanthus altissima by bioactivity-guided fractionation using an in vitro SIRT1 deacetylation assay. Their structures were identified as (2'R,3'R)-7-(2',3'-dihydroxy-3',7'-dimethylocta-6'-enyloxy)-6,8-dimethoxycoumarin (1), 6,8-dimethoxy-7-(3',7'-dimethylocta-2',6'-dienyloxy)coumarin (2), (2'R,3'R,6'R)-7-(2',3'-dihydroxy-6',7'-epoxy-3',7'-dimethyloctaoxy)-6,8-dimethoxycoumarin (3), and (2'R,3'R,4'S,5'S)-6,8-dimethoxy-7-(3',7'-dimethyl-4',5'-epoxy-2'-hydroxyocta-6'-enyloxy)coumarin (4). Compounds 1-4 strongly enhanced SIRT1 activity in an in vitro SIRT1-NAD/NADH assay and an in vivo SIRT1-p53 luciferase assay. These compounds also increased the NAD-to-NADH ratio in HEK293 cells. The present results suggest that terpenylated coumarins from A. altissima have a direct stimulatory effect on SIRT1 deacetylation activity and may serve as lead molecules for the treatment of some age-related disorders.

Purpose The study aimed firstly to determine the release behavior of the model drug (berberine chloride) from the dry coated tablets. The second objective of this study was to evaluate the exact location of the dry coated tablets in in vivo. Methods The colon targeting tablets were developed by dry powder coating technique on pan coater. The drug release behavior was determined in the three continuous mediums: pH 1.2; 7.4 and 6.8 plus pectinase. The location of the dry coated tablets in the gastrointestinal tract of human volunteers was observed through the X-ray imaging of the dry coated tablets containing the optimized radiocontrast agents. Results The release kinetics of berberine chloride from the dry coated tablets was mainly controlled by erosion and enzyme sensitive mechanism. The optimum dry coated tablets having the coating powders of pectin 102:HPMC K4 M (2:1) with the coating level of 200%, and the tablet core with BaSO4 10% and iobitridol 30% as radiocontrast agents were observed in the caecum and ascending colon of human volunteers after 5–6 h of oral administration. Conclusion The successful development of these dosage forms is believed to have a high potential in precisely monitoring the release of highly potent drugs such as anti-inflammatory drugs in bowel diseases.

Susceptibility of Asian corn borer (ACB), Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée) to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Cry1Ab protein was studied between 2015 and 2016 with 11 ACB populations, collected from various geographical regions in Vietnam. A concentration range of Cry1Ab from 0.20 to 26.10 ng/cm 2 of diet was evaluated against F 1 ACB neonates using diet surface-overlay bioassays. Mortality data was recorded daily until seven days after infestation. Growth inhibition was recorded at the end of seven days. The median lethal concentration (LC 50 ) varied ≈3-fold among the different populations, ranging from 0.58 to 1.83 ng/cm 2 of diet with an overall mean of 0.86 ng/cm 2 of diet. Even the lowest concentration of 0.20 ng/cm 2 caused 73.53% growth inhibition. > 90% growth inhibition was achieved at 0.82 ng/cm 2 or higher concentrations. The results reflect natural variation in Bt susceptibility among ACB populations rather than variation caused by prior exposure to selection pressures. LC 99 value (17.26 ng/cm 2 ) was generated by pooling mortality data across different populations. The upper fiducial limit of LC 99 (24.38 ng/cm 2 ) could be a potential diagnostic dose for future resistance monitoring programs. The findings from this study suggest that ACB populations in Vietnam are highly susceptible to Cry1Ab protein. This is the first report of Cry1Ab susceptibility of different ACB populations in Vietnam and will serve as a baseline for future resistance monitoring work.
