X ray CT Inspection Algorithm to Correct Missing Data

X ray CT is for nondestructive inspection in industrial field. In X ray CY inspection, the problem is called “metal artifact” on the reconstructed image is one of the biggest issue. This study aims to reduce metal artifact. Metal artifact is caused primarily by missing projection data from every projection angle. So ,we propose the algorithm for correcting the missing projection data and confirm availability for nondestructive inspection in industrial field.
Structural Design of a High-rise Building with Structural Control System for Various Lateral Forces

In steel construction the flange of a steel I-beam is usualy coped to allow clearance at the connection. The presence of acope in a beam wil reduce the strength of the beam in the coped region. Local web buckling at the coped region may occurwhen the cope length is long and/or the cope depth is large, provided that lateral-torsional buckling of the beam is prevented.coped I-beams although no experimental evidence was provided to support the recomendation. In order to verify suchrecomendation, an experimental and numerical investigation of coped I-beams with stiffeners at the coped region wasconducted and reported in this paper. The study showed that current recommendations did not consider the web distortionproperly, i.e. local web buckling could not be prevented efficiently if only horizontal stiffeners were provided at the copedregion. Both the test and the numerical results showed that the horizontal stiffeners at the cope displaced lateraly due to grossweb distortion. Based on the results of the parametric study of coped beams with diferent configurations of horizontal andvertical stiffeners, it was found that for cope depth to beam depth ratio (dc/D)≥0.3, both horizontal and vertical stiffeners arerequired in order to prevent local web buckling at the cope region. A preliminary recomendation for the design of copedbeams with both horizontal and vertical stiffeners was proposed according to the key findings of the investigation.
Structures and Magnetic Properties of Tm1−yYyMn1−xCoxO3

The structure and magnetic properties of Tm1−yYyMn1−xCoxO3 with 0 5 x 5 0.5 and0 5 y 5 0.3 were investigated by X-ray diffraction, specific heat and magnetization measurements. Thulium manganite TmMnO3 prepared by solid-state synthesis at ambient pressure ishexagonal and antiferromagnetic with a N`eel temperature TN of 86 K. The substitution of Y for Tmin TmMnO3 does not greatly affect the fundamental hexagonal structure. The magnetization andspecific heat measurement results for Tm1−yYyMnO3 can be qualitatively explained in terms of thedilution effect of Tm by Y. On the other hand, the structure of TmMn1−xCoxO3 changes graduallyfrom hexagonal to orthorhombic with the substitution of Co for Mn; hexagonal and orthorhombicphases coexist in samples for x 5 0.3 whereas TmMn0.6Co0.4O3 is almost a single orthorhombicphase. The magnetization of TmMn0.6Co0.4O3 in a field of 250 Oe increases rapidly at about60K with decreasing temperature. The difference between zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled(FC) magnetizations increases remarkably at about 60 K. Moreover, the temperature dependencesof the ZFC and the FC magnetizations exhibit peaks at about 40 and 30 K, respectively. Thus,TmMn1−xCoxO3 exhibits complex magnetic properties.

This study highlights especially the mechanism of vortex cavitation occurrence from the end of the suction duct in a double-suction volute pump and pump oscillation which causes cavitation noise from the pump. In this study, full 3D numerical simulations have been performed using a commercial code inside the pump from the inlet of suction duct to the outlet of delivery duct. The numerical model is based on a combination of multiphase flow equations with the truncated version of the Rayleigh-Plesset model predicting the complicated growth and collapse process of cavity bubbles. The experimental investigations have also been performed on the cavitating flow with flow visualization to evaluate the numerical results.
Method for accuracy improvement of GPS measurement in the city

GPS (Global positioning System) is a 3-D positioning system using space satellites. Recently, the use of GPSin the city as the navigation system is rising continuously. However the measurement error is large when the receiver isused near the buildings such as in urban canyon. This reason is that the receiver is not able to measure a pseudo range accurately because of receiving reflected wave (multipath) from the obstacle. Then we suggested new methods for reducing the multipath error. They are methods which are discrimination of the presence of the multipath error using the signal strength, and calculating the multipath error using two kinds of measurements. We devised methods of positioning which does not require reference station in real time. In this paper, we show the effectiveness of our method with measurement results.
