Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a complex separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space. In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition is given for an operator T on $\mathcal{H}$ to satisfy that $f(T)$ obeys generalized Weyl's theorem for each function $f$ analytic on some neighborhood of ${\sigma}(T)$. Also we investigate the stability of generalized Weyl's theorem under (small) compact perturbations.

In this paper, a new simple approach has been developed for the preparation of α-Fe2O3 microspheres by a facile hydrothermal method using PVP as a surfactant. Uniform α-Fe2O3 microspheres could be routinely synthesized through solvothermal approach by controlling the PVP/FeCl3⋅6H2O ratio. The as-obtained α-Fe2O3 microspheres exhibit high efficiency on the decolorization of RhB aqueous solution in the presence of H2O2 at room temperature.

Acetylation of bacterial cellulose whisker (BCW) with acetic anhydride can effectively improve the thermal stability of BCW and the dispersion of interface compatibility with PHBV. The influence of the modified cellulose whiskers on the crystallization and mechanical properties of the PHBV matrix was studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarization optical microscopy (POM), and XRD. The results show that ABCW has heterogeneous nucleation and hindrance effect on the PHBV matrix simultaneously. With the increase of ABCW content, PHBV gradually decreases from large spherulite and then increases, and the crystallinity decreases. When the content of ABCs is 1.2%, ABCW has the best strengthening effect on PHBV, and the bending strength and bending modulus are 44.7% and 34.5% higher than PHBV.

A field-circuit coupling model of a typical faulty generator is established to correct through-bolt end-region overheating and breakdown failure in a tubular hydro-generator. Using the model, eddy current loss and electromagnetic forces on through bolts under normal and failure conditions are analyzed and compared and the natural frequency of a through bolt is determined. Based on the analysis results, the causative mechanism of failure is revealed and targeted improvement design measures are proposed. The numerical results are found to be consistent with the actual fault characteristics, validating the design measure improvements. The results are useful in improving the design and manufacturing standards and enhancing the operational reliability of large tubular hydro-generators.
Experimental Study and Parameter Analysis of L-shaped Composite Column under Axial Loading

A special-shaped column composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (SCFST column) is experimentally investigated in this paper. The SCFST column is composed of several small-sized concrete-filled square tubular columns (mono-columns) connected by connection plates. This kind of column is proposed because it can increase the usable space in residential buildings. The axial loading behavior of L-shaped SCFST columns is experimentally investigated. The failure mode, strain distribution, cooperation of mono-columns, bearing capacity, and the effect of a concrete core on column behavior were tested. As concluded, the SCFST column can be regarded as a useful kind of column. A finite element analysis model was proposed according to the experimental results, and the influence of connection plate size on bearing capacity was studied using the finite element model. Finally, proposed were the optimal width and thickness of connection plates for improving the design of the SCFST column.

This paper tries to analyze the strategies used in the translation of metaphors of President Xi Jinping’s popular quotes and sayings selected and summarized from six public speech scripts delivered in 2018. Using the Metaphor Identify Procedure (MIP) proposed by the Pragglejaz Team in 2007, this paper identifies 12 types of conceptual metaphors in the data and focused on those popular and influential quotes and sayings from a cultural perspective. Applying theoretical frameworks in post-classical narratology (especially Mona Baker’s narrative theory) first put forward and developed by David Herman and concepts in cognitive linguistics, it investigates how metaphors of the public speech scripts, with unique Chinese characteristics meanwhile, were translated in the Chinese media. By drawing on the strong points of Baker’s narrative theory, it makes a comprehensive narrative account of the translation process for Xi’s speech in the broad sense, namely, narrative material selection before the translation, narrative framing (re-narration) during the translation and narrative reception after the translation, with a focus on the narrative reframing process, in other words, the translation process of Xi’s speech in the narrow sense. After that, several conclusions are obtained: in the narrative framing process, the translator makes a re-narration from narrative time, narrative perspective and narrative structure on the micro textual level. In the narrative reception, three commonly used strategies in the translation of metaphors in Xi’s speeches are proposed to improve the narrative reception effect for the receptors’ sake, namely, reproducing the same image of the metaphor in the target language, replacing the image of the metaphor with a familiar one in the target language, and abandoning the image of the metaphor while translating the meaning of the image instead. Meanwhile, those strategies found out to properly reflect the manifold characteristics of the popular quotes and sayings and demonstrate the constant propagandistic practice of the Chinese media.

Although China’s economy has experienced the dynamics of change in recent decades, gender inequality is still persistent, especially in rural areas. The present study aims to depict family structures in rural areas in Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, and to investigate the status of women in these. Qualitative and semi-quantitative methods were used. Fifty-five married women from three villages of Xining participated in the investigation. A family image test (FIT) and semi-structured interviews were used to gather information on family structures and women’s status in the household. Results indicated that typical patriarchal families were prevalent in rural areas of Xining. Women, especially the young married young ones, were marginalized and were at the bottom of the family hierarchy.
Effects of Vinorelbine on Cisplatin Resistance Reversal in Human Lung Cancer A549/DDP Cells

Multi-drug resistance (MDR) is an essential aspect of human lung cancer chemotherapy failure. Recent studies have shown that vinorelbine is involved in underlying processes in human tumors, reversing the MDR inseveral types of cancer cells. However, the roles and potential mechanism are not fully clear. In this study, we explored effects of vinorelbine in multi-drug resistance reversal of human lung cancer A549/DDP cells. We found that vinorelbine increased drug sensitivity to cisplatin and intracellular accumulation of rhodamine-123, while decreasing expression of P-glycoprotein (P-gp), multi-drug resistance-associated protein (MRP1) and glutathione-S-transferase ${\pi}$ (GST-${\pi}$) in A549/DDP cells. At the same time, we also established downregulation of p-Akt and decreased transcriptional activation of NF-${\kappa}B$ and twist after vinorelbine treatment. The results indicated that vinorelbine might be used as a potential therapeutic strategy in human lung cancer.
Experimental Study on Fire Resistance Performance of Concrete-Filled Steel Plate Composite Walls

Concrete-filled steel plate composite walls are increasingly used in high-rise buildings; their mechanical properties at room temperature have produced fruitful results. However, research on their mechanical properties in fire and at high temperatures is scarce. Moreover, published studies on the fire resistance of concrete-filled steel plate composite walls have not considered the impact of fire protection measures. Based on previous fire resistance research, a fire resistance test was designed in this study for four walls under the combined action of axial compression and a single-sided fire under the ISO-834 standard heating curve. Apart from that, the existing fire protections have the disadvantages of too thick, easy falling off and cracking or difficult to install. In order to eliminate the disadvantages of existing fire prevention measures, new composite fireproof structure using a rock wool board and a thin fire-retardant coating is proposed. The effects of no fireproof structures, autoclaved lightweight concrete plate fireproof structures, thick-coated fire-retardant structures, and new composite fireproof structures on the fire resistance of concrete-filled steel plate composite walls were studied experimentally. The results show that the fire resistance of the four test specimens meets the 3 h fire resistance limit of the primary load-bearing component in the specification. Based on the experimental results, reasonable fire protection methods are suggested for concrete-filled steel plate composite walls in actual projects, and an experimental basis is provided for further numerical simulation.
