The Determinants of Dynamic Debt Maturity Structure: Evidence from Vietnam
Nguyen,Thanh Nha,Tran,Thi Thuy Linh 한국유통과학회 2019 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2019 No.-
Based on the signaling, matching, agency and tax-based theories, this paper presents a study where the partial adjustment model was applied to investigate influences of firm and macroeconomic factors on the debt maturity structure. The outcomes were then used in a case study to assess the rate of adjusting the debt maturity structure of 279 non-financial companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) in the period from 2007 to 2015. Results obtained from the System GMM (SGMM) method showed that (1) firms in Vietnam have the dynamic debt maturity structure with the adjustment rate of 25% to 36%, (2) the debt maturity structure of firms in Vietnam is affected by firm factors including SIZE, VOL, LIQ, TAN, AM and TAX and characteristics of the economy such as inflation and interest rates.

The study investigates the factors influencing the innovation activities in the enterprises in the Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam. By employing the dataset from a survey in 200 typical enterprises in Binh Dinh and using the Exploratory Factor Analysis and regression analysis, we found that there are eight factor groups affecting the innovation activities of enterprises. They include management of innovation promotion; market research capacity; leadership inspiring innovation; culture of innovation; human resources for implementing innovation; network connection; disseminating/sharing knowledge; and impact of producing/serving technology. All these factors strongly affect the innovation activities, which plays an important role in promoting the sustainable development of the Vietnamese enterprises, with the statistical significance level at 1%. Moreover, findings also show that, among these factors, the market research capacity is the strongest determinant of the innovation activity in the enterprise. An increase of 1 point of capacity of market research will increase the innovation activities in the enterprise by 0.114 point. It is followed by the management of promoting innovation, leadership inspiring innovation, and disseminating and sharing knowledge, with 0.104, 0.103 and 0.102 score, respectively. On the other hand, network connection is the weakest factor, with the score of 0.07 point.

Smarthome is one of the remarkable fields of the industrial revolution 4.0, which are popular in many countries such USA, EURO, Japan and Korea. However, how Vietnamese people are considering and having intension to use smarthome devices is still a question for marketers and researchers. This study develops a comprehensive research model that can explain potential customers' behavioral intentions to adopt and use Smarthome services in Viet Nam and figure which key factors affect the intention. This study proposes and validates a new theoretical model that extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2). The model consists of eight factors that affect one element (Behavioral Intention), specifically: Habits, Perceived usefulness, Perceived ease of use, Trust, Innovativeness Personal, Perceived value, Hedonic motivations and Social influences. Data were collected from 304 Vietnamese citizens by sending the email to survey questionnaire, direct contact with the experienced smarthome users. Through regression analysis, data from samples were analysed with SPSS 20 software and verification of hypotheses, the results show the key determinants affecting the intention to use smarthome appliances in Vietnam: Perceived Value, Social Influence, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use and Trust. From this result, several recommendations have been suggested to to smarthome devices vendors and marketer to improve products as well as marketing approaches to meet customer needs.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors influencing the Vietnamese farmers' intention to accept organic farming based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). After in-depth interviews with five agricultural researchers and five farmers, the authors have identified a formal research model and built a complete survey. Data were collected from 318 farmers in Hanoi, Vietnam, by surveying directly at their homes or farms. Statistical methods, such as Cronbach's alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and linear regression analysis, were used to analyze the data with the help of SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 24.0. The results show that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control have a positive influence on farmers' intention to accept organic farming in Vietnam. Based on the degree of impact of these factors, the authors give a few suggestions to state management agencies to promote the intention to accept organic farming in Vietnam: (i) increasing awareness of the difference between organic farming and conventional farming, the role of organic farming in health and the environment; (ii) increasing the activities of guiding the organic farming practices and facilitating the farmers to access these guides through many channels; and (iii) holding sessions to share practices in organic farming practices.

The catalysts were characterized by 1H- and 13C NMR, and elemental analysis. These catalysts were found to be effective in forming SPS in combination with MAO. The activities of the catalysts with rigid <I>ortho</I>- and <I>meta</I>-xylene bridges were higher than those of catalysts with flexible pentamethylene bridges. The catalytic activity of four dinuclear half-titanocenes increased in the order of <B>4</B><<B>5</B><<B>7</B><<B>8</B>. This result displays that the <I>meta</I>-xylene bridged catalyst is more active than the <I>ortho</I>-xylene bridged and that the aryloxo group at the titanium center is more effective at promoting catalyst activity compared to the chloride group at the titanium center. Temperature and ratio of [Al]:[Ti] had significant effects on catalytic activity. Polymerizations were conducted at three different temperatures (25, 40, and 70°C) with variation in the [Al]:[Ti] ratio from 2000 to 4000. It was observed that activity of the catalysts increased with increasing temperature, as well as higher [Al]:[Ti]. Different xylene linkage patterns (<I>ortho</I> and <I>meta</I>) were recognized to be a principal factor leading to the characteristics of the dinuclear catalyst due to its different spatial arrangement, causing dissimilar intramolecular interactions between the two active sites.</P>

Anoikis (or cell-detachment-induced apoptosis) is a special form of apoptosis in which cells loose contact with other cells or the extracellular matrix. In the present study, we have found that the breast cancer stem cell line MCF-7-SC, isolated from MCF-7 breast cancer cells, shows characteristics of anoikis resistance. Treatment of supercritical $CO_2$ extract from Citrus hassaku Hort ex Tanaka, locally known as Phalsak, reduced the expression of ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 2 mRNA and induced apoptosis in MCF-7-SCs, as evidenced by an increase of apoptotic body formation, increased cell population in the sub-G1 phase, increase in the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, proteolytic activation of caspase-9 and caspase-3, and the degradation of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) protein. The effects of supercritical $CO_2$ extract from Phalsak on anoikis-resistant breast cancer stem cells suggest the use of this extract as a potential therapeutic agent for breast cancer stem cell treatment.

NGUYEN, Thi Phuong Linh,NGUYEN, Van Hau Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.10
E-commerce development led to the explosion of online payment. Consumers have many choices when deciding on the online payment method for each transaction. Using a combination of both qualitative and quantitative methods with the help of SPSS AMOS version 22.0, the article explores the factors that influence consumers' online payment method decision behavior in Vietnam. Research results show that awareness of usefulness, awareness of risk, awareness of trust, awareness ease of use, product uncertainly perception and perceived behavioral control have effects on the behavior of deciding on online payment methods. Awareness of risk has the strongest negative impact on online payment method decision behavior and awareness of usefulness has the strongest positive impact on online payment method decision behavior. Based on these important results, the article proposes a number of implications: (i) continuing to invest and upgrade modern technology to ensure customer information absolutely confidential; (ii) converting all ATM cards on the market to EMV chip standard card technology; (iii) improving service activities, quickly handle things to create confidence for customers; (iv) credit institutions operating in the field of online payment linked to e-commerce sites, supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants must ask partners to increase transparency for the products.
