Le, Minh Tam,Nguyen, Thai Thanh Thi,Nguyen, Tung Thanh,Nguyen, Trung Van,Nguyen, Tam An Thi,Nguyen, Quoc Huy Vu,Cao, Thanh Ngoc The Korean Society for Reproductive Medicine 2019 Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine Vol.46 No.2
Objective: Sperm cryopreservation has been widely used in assisted reproductive technology, as it offers great potential for the treatment of some types of male infertility. However, cryopreservation may result in changes in membrane lipid composition and acrosome status, as well as reductions in sperm motility and viability. This study aimed to evaluate sperm DNA fragmentation damage caused by conventional freezing using the sperm chromatin dispersion test. Methods: In total, 120 fresh human semen samples were frozen by conventional methods, using SpermFreeze Solution as a cryoprotectant. Routine semen analysis and a Halosperm test (using the Halosperm kit) were performed on each sample before freezing and after thawing. Semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation were compared between these groups. Results: There was a significant decrease in sperm progressive motility, viability, and normal morphology after conventional freezing (32.78%, 79.58%, and 3.87% vs. 16%, 55.99%, and 2.55%, respectively). The sperm head, midpiece, and tail defect rate increased slightly after freezing. Furthermore, the DNA fragmentation index (DFI) was significantly higher after thawing than before freezing (19.21% prior to freezing vs. 22.23% after thawing). Significant increases in the DFI after cryopreservation were observed in samples with both normal and abnormal motility and morphology, as well as in those with normal viability. Conclusion: Conventional freezing seems to damage some sperm parameters, in particular causing a reduction in sperm DNA integrity.

Objective: In frozen and thawed embryos, the zona pellucida (ZP) can be damaged due to hardening. Laser-assisted hatching (LAH) of embryos can increase the pregnancy rate. This study compared thinning and drilling of the ZP before frozen embryo transfer (FET). Methods: Patients were randomly allocated into two groups for LAH using thinning or drilling on day 2 after thawing. Twenty-five percent of the ZP circumference and 50% of the ZP thickness was removed in the thinning group, and a hole $40{\mu}m$ in diameter was made in the drilling group. Results: A total of 171 in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection FET cycles, including 85 cycles with drilling LAH and 86 cycles with thinning LAH, were carried out. The thinning group had a similar ${\beta}$-human chorionic gonadotropin-positive rate (38.4% vs. 29.4%), implantation rate (16.5% vs. 14.4%), clinical pregnancy rate (36.0% vs. 25.9%), miscarriage rate (5.8% vs. 2.4%), ongoing pregnancy rate (30.2% vs. 23.5%), and multiple pregnancy rate (7.0% vs. 10.6%) to the drilling LAH group. There were no significant differences in pregnancy outcomes between subgroups defined based on age (older or younger than 35 years) or ZP thickness (greater or less than $17{\mu}m$) according to the LAH method. Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that partial ZP thinning or drilling resulted in similar outcomes in implantation and pregnancy rates using thawed embryos, irrespective of women's age or ZP thickness.

In accordance with huge demand for capital to meet the expansion of steel production, there are more and more steel companies who have officially listed their stocks in HOSE and HNX. One of the key issues in successful initial public offerings and seasonal offerings for these companies is how to make stocks of steel companies become more attractive in the eyes of investors. The purpose of this research is to analyze the determinants of share prices of listed steel companies in Vietnam. This study utilized macro-economic variables, ratios and indicators representing characteristics of steel industry collected from Quarter 1/2006 to Quarter 4/2019 in association with the panel data and the feasible generalized least square (FGLS) model to evaluate the degree of these factors on the share prices. The results of the research show that ROE, Cons_rate, and CO2_rate are three main factors affecting the share prices of listed steel companies. Among which, ROE and Cons_rate have a positive effect, while CO2_rate has a negative effect on the share prices of listed steel companies. It also confirms the relationship between the environmental factor, construction industry factor and the stock prices. This lays foundations for recommendations for the future policies towards environmental protection and sustainable development.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition on a mixture of iron salt and CaCO3. Salt mixtures of Fe(NO₃)₃9H₂O/CaCO₃ and FeCl₃6H₂O/CaCO₃ with various Fe weight contents were used as catalysts for growing the CNTs. A scanning electron microscope study revealed that the CNTs were densely grown on the Fe(NO₃)₃9H₂O/CaCO₃ catalyst containing 5 wt.% Fe. The effect of growth temperature on the segregation of Fe nanoparticles formed by hydrogen reduction is discussed. The result shows that 800 ℃ is the optimal temperature for the formation of Fe nanoparticles over which CNTs grow with the highest yield of 78.61 %. A raman spectroscope and a scanning transmission electron microscope were utilized to characterize the multiwall structure of the CNTs. The 92.16 % purity of the CNTs was determined by using thermal gravimetric analysis. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition on a mixture of iron salt and CaCO3. Bank Restructuring and Financial Performance: A Case Study of Commercial Banks in Vietnam
Tam Thanh Nguyen DUONG,Hoa Quynh NGUYEN 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.10
This study examines the impact of bank restructuring on the financial performance of commercial banks in Vietnam. The data for this study was obtained from the audited financial statements of 30 Vietnamese commercial banks from 2007 to 2019. Multiple regression analysis was used for investigation. Financial performance, as evaluated by ROAA, ROEA, and NIM, is the dependent variable. Financial restructuring, ownership restructuring, and operational restructuring are the independent variables. Pooled least squares (Pooled OLS), fixed effects model (FEM), random effects model (REM), and system generalized moment regression model (System GMM) are the estimate methods used to increase the accuracy of the regression coefficient. The research results show that the variables of financial restructuring activities such as government intervention and the ratio of equity to total assets; variables of ownership restructuring such as capital adequacy ratio, privatization of state-owned commercial banks, mergers, and acquisitions; variables of operational restructuring such as employees, branches, the cost to total assets; GDP variables and the second restructuring period have a positive impact on financial performance. Variables such as debt-to-capital ratio, bad debt ratio, state ownership ratio, expense-income ratio, and inflation have a negative effect on financial performance.

Amorphous alloys produced by using a rapid quenching technique are considered to be a precursor for producing nanosized and multiphase structures by precipitation (the top-down method). By using this technique, several new magnetic materials with different magnetic properties based on different physical mechanisms have been manufactured and investigated. Three new magnetic materials, a nanocrystalline soft magnetic material, a soft-hard permanent magnet and a Me-3d granular alloy with a GMR effect, what were prepared under local conditions, are presented and discussed in the experimental point of view. Iron pyrite (FeS2) thin films were fabricated by spin coating the solution of FeS2 nanocrystals of ~40 nm in size on glass substrates, followed by annealing in a sulfur environment at different temperatures. The effect of sulfurization temperature on the morphology, structural, optical and electrical properties was investigated. With increase of the sulfurization temperature, the grain size and crystallinity of the films was improved, although some cracks and voids were observed on the surface of thin films. The band gap of the FeS2 films was decreased at higher sulfurization temperature. The electrical properties were also changed, including the increasing in resistivity and the decrease in Hall mobility, with increase of sulfurization temperature. The change in the optical and electrical properties of the FeS2 thin films was explained based on the changes of phase, morphology, surface, and grain boundary property.
