Improvement and Use of EMI Official Metadata Catalog

In the past several years, the metadata management technologies have matured for searching and processing data saved in numerous storage resources in a distributed environment based e-infrastructure. AMGA is the metadata catalog service technology based on grid; thus, it is being widely leveraged as an essential element in various environments including grid. In recent days, the single package of gLite, UNICORE, ARC and dCache middleware component, which contains an individual distributed environment, was developed through the EMI project of EU FP7 program. AMGA also conducted the compatibility development with the other components within EMI through the official software of EMI. This thesis discusses about the implementation of AMGA for middleware-interoperability according to EMI policies and strategies; the information sharing on software use; and the measure to facilitate AMGA utilization in an effective way.
KNLTER Network : Facilitating Global Data-Sharing

Reliable data sharing and long-term data archiving and reuse are becoming very important in global cooperative research. Concomitantly, many types of global data-based research have been conducted on the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) network, with the objective of getting it to respond effectively to future changes in ecology, environment, and climate, by monitoring long-term ecological and environmental data. Korean National Long-Term Ecological Research (KNLTER), however, lacks a system for performing data collection, management, curation, and publication, and therefore global cooperative research through global data sharing is difficult in Korea. In this paper, we analyze one of the best practices link models, the TERN network, and the global data-sharing trend in the LTER area. Further, we propose a link model and necessary technologies for KNLTER and suggest a possible future direction for KNLTER.
KNLTER Data Platform Enabling Global Data Exchange By Means of Full Life-cycle Data Management

Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) requires a data-centric collaboration platform. To date, Korea"s LTER has had difficulty conducting data-centric research due to factors such as the absence of a pre-negotiated integrated protocol, data management issues, and restrictions on integrated data utilization, thereby making global data exchange impossible. In this paper, we propose a systematic LTER data management model that can link with international data and allow for data quality management.
