      • LNG DUAL-FUEL 천연가스엔진 제어시스템

        The major cause of air pollution is due to vehicle exhaust gas, especially caused by heavy-duty diesel vehicles such as truck and urban buses. They form over 36% of total exhaust volumes even though the proportion is just below 3%. To solve this problem, the ministry of environment executes the air pollution improvement business that substitutes diesel urban buses for natural gas buses. As result, over 8,600 buses run in major cities presently and the plan to expand NGV to garbage trucks is under consideration. In this study, We develop Dual Fuel natural gas engine control system and controller for heavy-duty vehicle which is going to apply to heavy-duty diesel vehicles. Dual Fuel control system is attached to existing 13 liter engine. Dual Fuel control system such as injector driver and ECU are installed to operate actuators including natural gas and diesel injectors. We estimated the fuel system and engine power, compared the result with diesel engine.

        This study was carried out to investigate the aging and the conversion caharacteristic of oxidation catalyst for natural gas vehicle with lean-burn system. The conversions of CH₄was observed over the various composition ratios of PMs(Precious metals) and washcoating methods. On the fresh catalvsts, Pd more affects on the activity at low temperature than other precious metals catalysts. The activity at low temperature was increased by increasing a mount of Pd. On the aged catalysts, the conversion efficiency of Pd-only catalyst with mono-layer washcoat was more decreased than the other catalysts for conversion on CH₄. It was observed that the thermal durability of Rh/Pd/Pt catalysts with double-layer washcoat was better than other mono-layer catalysts.

        정부의 기업 R&D 지원이 기업의 탐색적 활동에 미치는 영향의 실증 분석

        본 연구는 정부의 기업에 대한 직접적인 R&D 지원이 기업의 새로운 분야에서의 탐색적 활동(March, 1991)을 통한 기술혁신에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 실증 분석하였다. 기업에 대한 정부 R&D 지원은 기업의 자체적인 R&D 투자를 촉진하는 것과 함께 기업으로 하여금 기존 기술을 활용한 혁신을 넘어 새로운 분야에 대한 도전을 촉진하는 역할을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기업에 대한 정부 R&D 지원이 기업의 탐색적 활동을 통한 기술혁신 측면에서 어떠한 정책목표를 달성하고 있는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해, 본 연구는 2007년부터 2009년까지의 국가연구개발사업 자료와 2005년부터 2009년까지의 한국특허자료를 바탕으로 기업에 대한 정부 R&D 지원 성과를 실증 분석하였다. 분석 결과 국가연구개발사업을 수행한 기업이 국가연구개발사업에 참여하지 않은 기업보다 탐색적 활동을 할 확률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대기업에 대한 국가연구개발비 투자 증가가 국가연구개발사업 수행에 따른 탐색적 활동에는 유의미한 영향을 주지 못했다. 이러한 결과는 기업의 자체적인 탐색활동에 의한 영향을 통제하여도 유사하게 나타났다. 결과적으로 국가연구개발사업이 기업의 탐색적 활동 여부에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 그 영향은 대기업, 중소기업, 벤처기업과 같은 기업 유형에 따라 다르게 나타났다. This paper empirically examines the effect of government R&D support on the performance of the firm in Korea. In particular, we examine to what extent the government R&D support affected the firm’s exploratative performance. Using a novel dataset combining patent information with national government R&D funding data and firm performance indicators from 2005-2008, we construct and run an empirical model where a firm’s exploratative activity, measured by a firm patenting in a different field, is a function of the government R&D support a firm receives. The empirical results show that the government R&D support has a positive effect on the firm’s exploratative activity. Especially, this effect is stronger for the small and medium size firms, while large firms are relatively relying on their own R&D funding for exploration. This result indicates that the government needs to focus more on R&D funding for small and medium size firms, if it wants more exploratative outcomes to enhance potential resources for economic development.

      • Characteristics of Electronically Controlled Heavy-Duty Dual Fuel Engine

        In use 25ton trailers with Hyundai electronically controlled D6CB was converted to dual fuel system. To estimate economical efficiency, test vehicles have been operated on a certain driving route repeatedly. Test gross weight is about 30ton and both MPI and SPI natural gas injection systems are evaluated. Fuel economy, driving distance per refueling and driveability are examined in the field test including free way. Developed vehicle can be operated over 500km with dual fuel and shows 85% of diesel substitution ratio. Driveability is similar with but passing acceleration. It will be improved by calibration process. Test engine was set up for investigating power output, thermal efficiency and emission. ND 13-mode tests were performed for the test cycle. The emission result of dual fuel meets K2006 regulation the diesel equivalent engine performance output condition. Thermal efficiency is slightly low at full load condition and even worse at low load as compared to diesel operation.

      • CNG/가솔린 겸용 시스템 개발

As the result, over 4,700 buses run in major cities presently and the plan to expand NGV to garbage truck is under consideration. In this study, we converted gasoline vehicle to CNG/GSL Bi-fuel MPI system. MPI fuel system which is made up of injector, regulator and tank, is attached to existing gasoline vehicle. We apply spark timing advance processor in consideration of a natural gas burning characteristics.
