A NEW FINITE DIFFERENCE FORMULA OF DIRICHLET PROBLEM ON TRIANGULAR GRIDS
Vol.3 No.2
A new approach deriving a new finite difference formula of the Dirichlet problem for Poisson equation on triangular grids in an arbitrary domain is presented. The scheme is developed from Green representation formula and piecewise linear approximation for the solution on each local domain. The truncation error for the discrete approximation formula is analyzed, and it is showed that it has the convergence of first order for C² regularity of the solution.
Demythologizing the Art & Science of Interpretation & Translation
Vol.6 No.1
This paper responds to the question: 'Is true interpretation/translation between/among human languages possible?' While one may instinctively believe that one language can effectively be accurately transferred into another, this paper provides academic theories and data that support this belief. To that end, the writer examines various theories regarding the origin of human languages, its physical properties, and aspects that render true interpretation/translation of one human language into another human language not only possible, but necessary. Modern human languages are diverse with widely varying linguistic and cultural differences. However, it is argued that hose differences are superficial, given the greater similarities that underlie all human languages. Moreover, given the productive property of human language systems, the superficial differences can easily be overcome. As a result, academic evidence, reinforced by realistic experiences, serves to demythologize the art and science of human language interpretation/translation.
MESH GENERATION FOR SOLVING A BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM ON THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL RIEMANNIAN MANIFOLDS
Vol.4 No.3
In this thesis we consider mesh generations for solving boundary value problems on the two dimensional Riemannian manifolds. The problems are solved over the domain which is the projection of a domain on the two-dimensional Riemannian manifold M onto R². We introduce two methods for triangulations of a domain on R² and compare them through an example.
AUTOMATIC INITIAL MESH GENERATION BY A GRID-BASED TEMPLATE
Vol.1 No.1
A grid-based approach is considered to generate the initial mesh. This paper describes the technique of generating a mesh template and how it can be used systematically for automatic mesh generation for the multiply connected bounded polygonal domain.
Vol.4 No.2
This paper discusses the social status of the languages and the sociolinguistic behavior of the language speakers in multilingual conference settings. One prevalent and recurring phenomenon in such settings is the predominant use of the English language (EL), as opposed to other major and exotic languages. Two anecdotal examples of 'less-than-practical' choices of English as the language of speech delivery are presented. Then, this paper addresses the rationale behind minority language speakers' choice of English in multilingual conference settings. The question is answered by examining the status of English as an International Language (EIL), in general, and by examining the theory of language display, in particular. Brief literature reviews of the two theories are followed by the concluding comments on the role of the interpreter as the language mediator in multilingual situations, and as a proponent of language ecology.
A CHARACTERIZATION OF GRID TEMPLATE AND AUTOMATIC MESH GENERATION
SOYOUNG AHN,HYUNJUNG CHOI,YOUNGMI NAM,PHILSU KIM 한국산업응용수학회 2006 Journal of the Korean Society for Industrial and A Vol.10 No.2-1
A grid-based approach is considered to generate the initial mesh. This paper describes the technique of generating a grid template and give a characteristic matrix for the grid template. Using this characteristic matrix, we develop an automatic meshing method for the multiply connected bounded polygonal domain.
