      • Aptamer-Based Immunosensor on the ZnO Nanorods Networks

        <P>This paper presents the fabrication and characteristics of a new aptamer-based electrochemical immunosensor on the patterned zinc oxide nanorod networks (ZNNs) for detecting thrombin. Aptamers are single-stranded RNA or DNA sequence that binds to target materials with high specificity and affinity. An antibody-antigen-aptamer sandwich structure was employed to this immunosensor for detecting thrombin. First, hydrothermally grown ZNNs were patterned on the patterned 0.02 cm2 Au/Ti electrodes on a glass substrate by lift-off process. The high isoelectric point (IEP, approximately 9.5) of nanostructured ZnO makes it suitable for immobilizing proteins with low IEP. Then 5 microL of the 500 nM antibody was immobilized on the ZNNs electrode. 5 micro/L of the mixture of 1 microM aptamer labeled by ferrocene (Fc) and thrombin was dropped on the electrode for antibody-antigen binding. The peak oxidation currents of the immunosensors at various thrombin concentrations were measured by using cyclic voltammetry. The peak oxidation current was observed at 340 mV versus Ag/AgCl electrode, and the peak oxidation current increased linearly from 62.26 nA to 354.13 nA with the logarithmic concentration of thrombin in the range from 100 pM to 250 nM. Fabrication of an aptamer-based immunosensor for thrombin detection is a new attempt and the characteristics of the fabricated immunosensors showed that the fabricated aptamer-baded immunosensor worked electrochemically well and had a low detection limit (approximately 91.04 pM) and good selectivity.</P>

        Mediating Effects of Role Perception of Life-sustaining Treatment in the Relationship between Knowledge of Life-sustaining Treatment Plans and Attitudes toward Withdrawal of Life-sustaining Treatment among Nursing College Students

        Purpose: This study examined the relationship between Knowledge of Life-sustaining Treatment Plans and Attitudes toward Withdrawal of Life-sustaining Treatment among nursing college students, and attempted to identify the mediating effect of Role Perception on Life-sustaining Treatment in that relationship. It is hoped that the findings will ultimately contribute to the development of active nursing strategies. Methods: The participants were 142 nursing college students in the third and fourth years of study who had experienced clinical practice at two universities in cities Y and C. Data were collected from November 1 to 30, 2019. For data analysis, SPSS for Windows version 22.0 was used to calculate descriptive statistics, the t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. To analyze the mediating effect, the Baron and Kenny bootstrapping method was used. Results: Attitudes toward Withdrawal of Life-sustaining Treatment of nursing college students had a significant positive correlation with Knowledge of Life-sustaining Treatment Plans (r=0.34, P<0.001) and Role Perception on Life-sustaining Treatment (r=0.44, P<0.001). Role Perception on Life-sustaining Treatment partially mediated the relationship between Knowledge of Life-sustaining Treatment Plans and Attitudes toward Withdrawal of Life-sustaining Treatment (95% CI, 0.446~1.055). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, improving nursing college students' Role Perception on Life-sustaining Treatment could be used as a coping strategy to establish positive Attitudes toward Withdrawal of Life-sustaining Treatment.

        대형 조선소에 비해 정보화 및 PLM 분야에 가용한 자원이 부족한 중소형조선소에서 필요한 생산계획 시스템 중에서 전산 시스템으로 관리하는 최종 단계를 중일정으로 볼 수 있다. 중일정을 효과적으로 전산 시스템으로 관리하기 위해 필요한 소프트웨어 모듈과 연관 관계를 분석해야 중소형조선소의 중일정에 대한 생산계획 시스템 현황을 분석할 수 있는데, 본 연구는 이상적인 수준의 중소형조선소 중일정 생산계획 시스템의 구조를 연구하고 각 조선소별 평가를 위해 기초를 마련하는데 주목하였다.

        A grid-based approach is considered to generate the initial mesh. This paper describes the technique of generating a grid template and give a characteristic matrix for the grid template. Using this characteristic matrix, we develop an automatic meshing method for the multiply connected bounded polygonal domain.

        EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN RADIATION PROTECTION IN KOREA: CURRENT STATUS AND IMPROVEMENTS

        Radiation and its various industrial applications have been growing at approximately 10 percent per year for the past decade in Korea. As a result, the importance of the Education and Training (E&T) in radiation protection is of upmost importance. This paper is intended to investigate the present status of the E&T on radiation protection and safety in Korea and to draw up the improvements of the E&T courses required for building the national radiation safety infrastructure. For these purposes, the E&T data from the six major domestic organizations providing radiation protection training courses were investigated and analyzed. Each of the organizations is offering several kinds of E&T courses based on their own specific functions. These organizations have administrative facilities equipped with the latest technology for E&T in radiation protection. The E&T courses mainly cover the training courses for radiation workers, radiological emergency staff, license applicants, license holders, and regulatory staff. In 2010, a total of 58 E&T courses were carried out across six organizations. The conclusions make a number of observations highlighting challenges such as: establishing a formal feedback mechanism, introducing more practical training sessions, developing training courses tailored to the job categories and target audiences, and designing education and training courses in radiation protection that comply with current obligations as well as future requirements.

        Regulation of ERK1/2 by the C. elegans Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor GAR-3 in Chinese Hamster Ovary Cells

        Three G-protein-linked acetylcholine receptors (GARs) exist in the nematode C. elegans. GAR-3 is pharmacologically most similar to mammalian muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs). We observed that carbachol stimulated ERK1/2 activation in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells stably expressing GAR-3b, the predominant alternatively spliced isoform of GAR-3. This effect was substantially reduced by the phospholipase C (PLC) inhibitor U73122 and the protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor GF109203X, implying that PLC and PKC are involved in this process. On the other hand, GAR-3b-mediated ERK1/2 activation was inhibited by treatment with forskolin, an adenylate cyclase (AC) activator. This inhibitory effect was blocked by H89, an inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA). These results suggest that GAR-3b-mediated ERK1/2 activation is negatively regulated by cAMP through PKA. Together our data show that GAR-3b mediates ERK1/2 activation in CHO cells and that GAR-3b can couple to both stimulatory and inhibitory pathways to modulate ERK1/2.

        유기 논토양의 토양탄소 저장효과 평가

        본 연구는 토양의 탄소저장 능력과 관련하여 유기 및 관행 재배에 따른 차이를 비교분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 예측된 토양탄소 저장량에 대한 경제적 가치를 평가하고자 2018년 3월부터 5월 사이에 수행하였다. 전국 6개 지역에서 107개의 유기 및 관행 벼 재배토양을 분석한 결과 부여-I 지역을 제외하고, 나머지 5개 지역(부여-II, 김해, 산청-I, II, 순천)은 유기토양의 탄소 함량이 관행토양 탄소함량보다 높게 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 토양탄소 저장량을 분석한 결과, 유기토양(36.1 MgC ha⁻¹)이 관행토양(29.4 MgC ha⁻¹)보다 약 23 % 많은 토양탄소를 저장한 것으로 나타났다. KOSIS (Korea Statistical Information Service)의 탄소배출권 가격으로 추정한 유기 및 관행 재배의 단위면적당 토양탄소 저장량에 대한 경제적 가치는 유기토양 758,100원 ha⁻¹과 관행토양 617,400원 ha⁻¹으로 나타났고, 우리나라 전체 논토양의 탄소저장량 가치는 5,281억 원이며, 이 중 친환경논토양의 가치는 367억 원, 관행논토양의 가치는 4,914억 원으로 추정되었다. 우리나라 전체 논토양의 5.7 %인 친환경논토양의 면적을 확대하는 것이 전체 논토양의 탄소저장량 가치를 향상시키는데 효과적이라 판단된다. This study was conducted to investigate the differences in carbon storage capacity of soil between the conventional and the organic agricultural cultivation followed by the assessment of their economic values. An analysis of 107 samples in the organic and the conventional rice cultivation soils in six regions across South Korea showed that the five regions, Buyeo-II, Gimhae, Sancheong-I, II and Suncheon, had higher organic soil carbon contents than those of values observed on the conventional soils with the exception of the Buyeo-I areas. Based on the results from soil carbon contents, the carbon storage were estimated to be 36.1 megagram carbon (MgC) per ha in the organic paddy soils, while its conventional paddy soils were 29.4 MgC per ha. It showed that the organic paddy soils were 23 % greater than that of its conventional paddy soils. It was estimated that the carbon trading price for economic assessment was ₩758,100 per ha in the organic paddy soil and ₩617,400 per ha in the conventional paddy soil.

        혼합현실(Mixed Reality) 기술 동향과 발전 전망

        혼합현실(MR) 기술과 관련된 국내외의 최근 연구개발 동향과 사례들을 살펴보고, 사용된 기술 내용과 기술적 한계 극복을 위한 발전 방향을 논하고자 한다. 혼합현실 기술은 실세계와 가상세계를 실시간으로 혼합하여 사용자에게 제공함으로써 정보 사용의 효율성과 효과성을 극대화하는 기술이며, 이는 향후 정보기술(IT) 전분야의 발전과 변화에 많은 영향을 줄 주목해야 할 기술이다. 혼합현실 기술이 사용자들에게 쉽게 받아들여지고, 보다 적극적으로 널리 활용되기 위해서는 HMD(Head Mount Display), 트래킹 시스템, 실시간 랜더링 및 정합 등 기술적 한계의 극복과 혼합현실에 특화된 사용자 상호작용 기술 개발 및 응용 서비스 창출 그리고 사회적인 용인 한계의 극복 등이 요구된다. In this paper, we review relevant technologies of Mixed Reality(MR) and show important components of perspective that can overcome technical limitations of the current MR. An MR technology combines real and virtual objects in a real environment, and runs interactive in real time, and is regarded as an emerging technology in a large part of the future of Information Technology(IT). We've grouped the major obstacles limiting the wider use of MR technologies into three themes: technological limitations (i,e., tracking, rendering, authoring, and registration), user interface(UI) limitations(i.e., UI metaphor for MR interaction), and social acceptance issues.
