Ca(OH)₂의 열분해 반응을 이용하는 화학축열법에서는 Ca(OH)₂입자 충전층의 열전도성이 나쁘기 때문에 축열과정의 소요시간이 길어 실용화에 커다란 장애가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ca(OH)₂입자 충전층의 열전달을 촉진시키기 위해 반응기속에 구리판으로 된 전열핀을 설치하고 열분해 탈수반응 실험을 하였다. 그 결과 전열핀이 없는 경우보다 탈수반응에 소요되는 시간을 1/2 이하로 크게 단축 시킬 수 있었다. The present paper is on the utilization of a thermal decomposition reaction Ca(OH)₂= CaO + H₂O, for thermal energy storage. One of the important problems in this case is how to heat up and decompose the particle of Ca(OH) ₂ effectively where the thermal conduction is poor.<br/> In this study, the effects of Cu-plates which are placed in the Ca (OH) 2 packed bed as heat transfer fins are investigated experimentally.<br/> The results show that the Cu-plates are very effective for heat transfer and the thermal decomposition in the Ca (OH) 2 packed bed. The amount of time to dehydrate took less than a half than that without fins under the conditions of this study.

Recently, in view of the shortage of the energy resources in our country and the present state in an increasing consumption of energy, there has been an increasing interest in developing thermal storage techniques of available heat sources. The thermal energy storage may be classified into the following methods ; the method using sensible heat and latent heat, and the method by means of reversible thermochemical reactions. Among them, the thermal storage by means of reversible thermochemical reactions is quite attractive because the heat storage capacity per unit mass or unit volume is usually much higher than those by means of sensible heat and latent heat, and in this thermal storage a longer term heat storage is possible without any thermal insulation when the reaction products are stored separately in different reservoirs after the reaction. In the present study, among many chemical reactions, the reversible reaction of Ca(OH)₂/CaO is employed as a promising candidate for the component reaction in the thermal energy storage system. As a step in the application of thermochemical reaction cycle of Ca(OH)₂ and CaO for chemical heat storage, the heat-storage characteristics of a packed bed of Ca(OH)₂ during endothermic dehydration were studied experimentally and numerically. As a result, it was found within the range of experimental conditions employed in the present study that the bed temperature remained almost at the reaction equilibrium temperature, which is determined by partial pressure of water vapor in the outlet gas. The numerical results obtained be solving fundamental differential equations derived with a few assumptions agreed fairly well with the experimental data, and fundamental heat-storage characteristics of Ca(OH)₂ packed bed were considered to be well explained by this numerical modeling.

The effective use of energy is indispensably needed in our country absolutely for lack of energy source as the consumption of energy is greatly and rapidly increased. Accordingly, with the development of substituting energy for the prohibition of CO₂, the technique development of heat storage method is being studies in various ways to use the waste thermal energy which is not sufficiently used, or solar heat, etc. In this study, classify the heat storage system into sensible heat, latent heat and chemical heat storage, etc. , and describe the whole study situation of heat storage regarding each principle, usage, characteristic, and its vision.

The present paper is concerned with the thermal energy storage by means of a Ca(OH)₂/CaO reversible reaction. One of the important problems in this case is how to make heat transfer in the Ca(OH)₂/CaO packed bed fast and effective where the thermal conduction is poor. We employed Cu-plate fine in the reactor for rate enhancement of heat transfer. Two-demensional analysis of unsteady state heat flow inside the bed was performed as a function of time and various conditions of the Cu-plates. It is found that the Cu-plates are very effective for heat transfer in the bed. The time of hydration and that of dehydration took less than the half of time without fins respectively.
포도종실 에탄올 추출물의 순차 용매 분획에 따른 항산화 활성

포도종실 에탄올 추출물의 순차 용매 분획물 중에서 에틸아세테이트와 부탄올 분획물의 총 카테킨 함량은 각각 35.7 mg/g, 20.2 mg/g이었으나 두 용매 분획물을 첨가한 시료의 POV 증가 경향은 유사하여 카테킨의 함량에 따른 차이를 확인할 수 없었다. 두 용매 분획물에 함유된 프로안토시아니딘을 이루고 있는 카테킨의 중합도에 따른 영향을 조사하기 위하여 각 용매분획물을 C18 카트리지로 소분획하여 카테킨의 단량체-이량체 분획(FI)과 올리고량체 분획(FII) 및 다량체 분획(FIII) 등의 세가지 그룹으로 분리하였다. 에틸아세테이트 분획물에서는 E-FI(26.0 mg/g) > E-FII(18.6 mg/g) > E-FIII(13.7 mg/g)의 순서로 카테킨 함량이 높았음에도 불구하고 각각을 1,000 ppm농도로 첨가한 시료의 POV 증가 경향은 유사하였다. 또한 부탄올 분획물에서도 B-FI(35.3 mg/g) > B-FII(30.8 mg/g) >B-FIII(22.7 mg/g)의 순서로 카테킨 함량이 높았음에도 불구하고 항산화 효과에서는 차이가 없었다. 일반적으로 카테킨의 항산화력은 첨가량에 비례하여 증가함에도 불구하고 본 연구에서 각 용매 분획물의 항산화 효과에서 차이가 없었던 것은 포도종실 에탄올 추출물의 항산화 활성이 총 카테킨의 함량 뿐만 아니라 프로안토시아니딘을 이루고 있는 카테킨의 중합도에 따른 영향을 받고 있으므로 천연 항산화제로서 제조되는 포도종실 추출물의 품질 관리에 고려되어야 할 것으로 생각되었다. Ethyl acetate and butanol fractions among the serial solvent fractions of grape seed ethanol extract contained the catechin at the levels of 35.7 mg/g and 20.2 mg/g, respectively. However, the POV increasing patterns of two linoleic acid samples containing each solvent fraction were so similar that the difference in antioxidant activity by the catechin content of each solvent fraction could not be found. Each solvent fraction was fractionated on C18 cartridges into three subfractions which were mono-, dimers fraction (FI), oligomers fraction (FII) and polymers fraction (FIII) to examine the effect by the difference in degree of polymerization of proanthocyanidin. The catechin contents of ethyl acetate subfractions (E-F) were in the order of E-FI (26.0 mg/g) > E-FII (18.6 mg/g) > E-FIII (13.7 mg/g) but the three subfractions showed nearly similar antioxidant activities, by the POV measurement at 1,000 ppm concentration. Also the catechin contents of butanol subfractions (B-F) were in the order of B-FI (35.3 mg/g) > B-FII (30.8 mg/g) > B-FIII (22.7 mg/g) but similar antioxidant activities were observed in all subfractions. In this study, similar antioxidant activities of each solvent subfraction in spite of different catechin contents inform that the degree of polymerization of proanthocyanidin as well as the total catechin content should be considered in quality control of grape seed extract produced for natural antioxidant.
