Employee Engagement and Motivation as Mediators between the Linkage of Reward with Employee Performance

SISWANTO, Siswanto,MAULIDIYAH, Zahrotul,MASYHURI, Masyhuri Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2

This study analyzes the impact of the reward variable on employees' performance through work motivation and employee engagement. This study's specific purpose is to investigate employee engagement's mediating role in the relationship between reward and employee performance. The sample of research is the employee at Sukorejo, Pasuruan Indonesia. The sample is permanent employees at manufacture corporate. The sample size is 150 employees of the total 759 workers through the calculation of the Slovin formula. Respondents in this study were employees with the criteria for having worked for at least last five years. The data obtained is in the form of answers from employees to the statements submitted. The data analysis was used structural equation modeling partial least square. To test the relationship between variables, it was equipped with a Sobel mediation test of statistics. SmartPLS 3.0 is used to help analyze the relationship between variables. The result shows that the reward does not have a direct influence on the performance of employees. However, it has a significant positive effect on the performance of employees through employee engagement. While working motivation variable does not have the role as a mediation variable related to the effect of reward on employee performance.

A Simulation study of sea transport based fertilizer product considering disruptive supply and congestion problems

        Nurhadi SISWANTO,Uly KURNIAWATI,Effi LATIFFIANTI,Ahmad RUSDIANSYAH,Ruhul SARKER 한국해운물류학회 2018 The Asian journal of shipping and Logistics Vol.34 No.4

Every company desires to have an ideal delivery system with no disruption and no downtime. In reality, disruption events cannot be avoided, especially when delivering products using maritime transportation. Such unwanted and uncontrolled events can include sudden factory downtime, vessel breakdown, jetty congestion at a port, and more. Due to the serious consequences, disruption needs to be subjected to considerable scrutiny because it may influence the performance of the company. Many studies have been undertaken regarding inventory routing problems in the maritime area. However, it is very rare that these studies have included disruption events in their model. This research examines supply and transportation disruptions and also develops several scenarios to recover from disruptions so as to increase the system performance. The method used to model this problem is a discrete event simulation, because this tool is capable of handling complex systems. The best alternatives were chosen by finding a compromise or tradeoff between the key performance indicators, specifically the service level and the cost of achieving the goals. Two parameters were tested in the sensitivity analysis to understand the behavior and how sensitive these parameters are to the performance criteria.

Prediction of plastic deformation under contact condition by quasi-static and dynamic simulations using explicit finite element analysis

        W. A. Siswanto,M. Nagentrau,A. L. Mohd Tobi,M. N. Tamin 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.11

We compared the quasi-static and dynamic simulation responses on elastic-plastic deformation of advanced alloys using Finite element (FE) method with an explicit numerical algorithm. A geometrical model consisting of a cylinder-on-flat surface contact under a normal load and sliding motion was examined. Two aeroengine materials, Ti-6Al-4V and Super CMV (Cr-Mo-V) alloy, were employed in the FE analysis. The FE model was validated by comparative magnitudes of the FE-predicted maximum contact pressure variation along the contact half-width length with the theoretical Hertzian contact solution. Results show that the (compressive) displacement of the initial contact surface steadily increases for the quasi-static load case, but accumulates at an increasing rate to the maximum level for the dynamic loading. However, the relatively higher stiffness and yield strength of the Super CMV alloy resulted in limited deformation and low plastic strain when compared to the Ti-6Al-4V alloy. The accumulated equivalent plastic strain of the material point at the initial contact position was nearly a thousand times higher for the dynamic load case (for example, 6.592 for Ti-6Al-4V, 1.0 kN) when compared to the quasi-static loading (only 0.0072). During the loading step, the von Mises stress increased with a decreasing and increasing rate for the quasi-static and dynamic load case, respectively. A sudden increase in the stress magnitude to the respective peak value was registered due to the additional constraint to overcome the static friction of the mating surfaces during the sliding step.

      • Poster Session : PS 0343 ; Epidemiology and Public Health : Family Empowerment in Early Detection of Dengue Infection in Surabaya,

        ( Dwi Wahyu Astuti ),( Nasronudin Nasronudin ),( Siswanto Siswanto ),( Musofa Rusli ),( Bramantono Bramantono ),( Maria I Lusida ),( Umar F Achmadi ),( Muhammad A Isfandiari ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: Dengue is the most rapidly spreading mosquito-borne viral disease in the world, including Indonesia. Dengue virus (DENV) is a small single-stranded RNA virus comprising four distinct serotypes (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4). DENV-3 is a major cause of severe dengue infection in Indonesia. Currently, in several area changes in certain serotype related with severe infection. Family members are expected to take part in prevention, early detection of the morbidity and mortality associated with dengue infection and as reference source for health worker and researchers. Methods: A total of 460 patients enrolled this study. Informed consent was obtained prior to recruitment of patients enrolled into the study. During their admission to 5 hospitals and 15 primary health centers, data of characteristics and clinical information (symptoms, laboratory and severity of dengue infection) were collected during January 2012 to December 2013. The subject is patient with fever on day 1 or 2, suspected Dengue infection according to WHO criteria, and shows positive dengue NS1 and or IgM, IgG anti-dengue using a rapid screening test. The family members and health workers came to the patient`s neighborhood and observed wheter there are same symtoms in radius of 100 meters from the patient`s house. Results: From 460 patients, DENV-1 has been documented as the most frequent serotype among dengue cases (19, 34%), followed by DENV-2 (19, 13%). Spontaneous haemorrhagic manifestations occurs on 36 patients (7, 8%) of the 460 patients. Allpatients with haemorrhagic manifestations, 12 (33, 33%) and 5 (13, 8%) were caused by DENV-2, DENV-1 respectively. All subject discharge from health facility on recovery, undeveloped to DSS or death. Conclusions: Empowering family members and health worker can give an important contribution in early case detection to zero morbidity, mortality and transmission.

      • Slide Session : OS-IFD-05 ; Infectious Disease : Displacement of the Predominant Dengue Virus from Type 2 to Type 1 in Surabaya, Indonesia Within March 2012 - April 2013

        ( Brian Eka Rachman ),( Maria I Lusida ),( E Bimo Aksono ),( Siswanto Siswanto ),( Musofa Rusli ),( Bramantono ),( Nasronudin ),( Umar F Achmadi ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: Indonesia is a country with high endemicity of dengue (haemorrhagic) fever (DF/ DHF). It was reported that dengue virus type 2 (DENV2) was the predominant circulating virus in 2003-2005 in Surabaya, Indonesia, while Yamanaka et al., 2011 reported shifting of DENV serotypes between 2008 - 2010 in three times survey. This study was part of the clinical trial phase three of antivirus against dengue, held in year 2012-2013. Methods: A total of 317 serum samples were collected from patients with fever on day-1 or day-2, suspected dengue infection according to WHO criteria, showed positive result either by NS-1, and or IgM - IgG within March 2012 - April 2013. After an RNA extraction, a multiplex DEN 1-4 quantitative Real-Time PCR was applied to each sample. Results: Sixty three (90%) of 70 PCR positive sera collected within March 2012 and May 2012 showed DENV2, then 5(7.2%) DENV1, 1(1.4%) DENV3, and 1mixed of DENV1+3. Surprisingly, it was totally different for those collected since June 2012 until April 2013. Fifty three (50%) of 106 positive samples were DENV1, 5 (4.7%) DENV2, 35 (33%) DENV3, 7 (6.6%) DEN4, and 2, 2, 1 mixed type of DENV 1+3, DENV1+4, DENV 3+4 respectively. Conclusions: There was a displacement of the predominant type of dengue virus circulating in Surabaya within March 2012 - April 2013. Such kind of predominant DENV shifting from type 2 to type 1 has occurred between October and November 2008. This indicates the need for continuous surveillance of the circulating viruses, which may predict the risk of severe DHF and mild DF as reported previously.

Crashworthy capacity of a hybridized epoxy-glass fiber aluminum columnar tube using repeated axial resistive force

Perowansa Paruka,Waluyo Adi Siswanto,Md Abdul Maleque,Mohd Kamal Mohd Shah 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.5

A combination of aluminum columnar member with composite laminate to form a hybrid structure can be used as collapsible energyabsorbers especially in automotive vehicular structures to protect occupants and cargo. A key advantage of aluminum member in compositeis that it provides ductile and stable plastic collapse mechanisms with progressive deformation in a stable manner by increasingenergy absorption during collision. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the influence of the number of hybrid epoxyglasslayers in overwrap composite columnar tubes. Three columnar tube specimens were used and fabricated by hand lay-up method. Aluminum square hollow shape was combined with externally wrapped by using an isophathalic epoxy resin reinforced with glass fiberskin with an orientation angle of 0°/90°. The aluminum columnar tube was used as reference material. Crushed hybrid-composite columnartubes were prepared using one, two, and three layers to determine the crashworthy capacity. Quasi-static crush test was conductedusing INSTRON machine with an axial loading. Results showed that crush force and the number of layers were related to the enhancementof energy absorption before the collapse of columnar tubes. The energy absorption properties of the crushed hybrid-composite columnartubes improved significantly with the addition of layers in the overwrap. Microscopic analysis on the modes of epoxy-glass fiberlaminate failure was conducted by using scanning electron microscopy.

Mohd Norihan Ibrahim,Waluyo Adi Siswanto,Ahmad Mujahid Ahmad Zaidi 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.11

The paper describes a work focused on the process of perforation of aluminum sheet. A numerical investigation has been carried out toanalyze in details the perforation process subjected to normal impact by different nose shapes of projectiles. The perforation process hasbeen simulated by the application of 3D analysis using IMPACT dynamic FE program suite. The comparison on failure modes dependingon the projectile nose shape have been studied and evaluated. An appropriate constitutive relation was applied to describe the materialbehavior of the aluminum sheet. The study covered different failure modes including petalling, plug ejection and circumference neckingof perforated aluminum sheet according to different level of impact velocity ranging from 100 m/s to 600 m/s. In this investigation, aspecial attention will be given on the deformation and failure.
