ORAM(Oblivious RAM)은 사용자가 믿을 수 없는 서버, 혹은 하드웨어를 이용할 때 해당 기기에서 발생할 수 있는 부채널 공격을 방어할 수 있는 알고리즘이다. ORAM은 데이터 접근 패턴을 감추어 해당 접근 패턴을 통해 정보가 유실되는 것을 방어하게 된다. 그러나, ORAM은 하드웨어의 보안을 강화하나 그로 얻는 이점에 비해 훨씬 큰 처리 속도 감소를 유발하는 단점이 존재하여 현재까지 실용화 되지 못하였다. 본 논문에서는 새롭게 개발되고 있는 하드웨어인 PIM(Process In Memory)를 활용하여 ORAM을 가속화하여 실용적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. ORAM(Oblivious RAM) is an algorithm that defends side channel attacks when the user uses an untrusted server or hardware. ORAM defends against leaks of information by hiding data access patterns. However, ORAM is not in practical use because as ORAM reinforces hardware security, it also has a severe disadvantage in processing speed. In this paper, we suggest using newly introduced hardware, PIM (Process In Memory), to accelerate ORAM and use it practically.
국내 민형사 판례로 확인한 피부미용사의 불법시술 사례 고찰

Background: Although the rates of illegal cosmetic procedures performed by beauticians are increasing, there is a dearth of relevant information in the literature regarding these procedures. Objective: This study was aimed to investigate illegal cosmetic procedures that were performed by beauticians with the help of judicial precedents. Methods: The Supreme Court of South Korea’s Written Judgement Management System was searched for judicial precedents regarding illegal cosmetic procedures performed by beauticians. This system included cases that were sentenced in the lower courts, the appellate courts, and the supreme court from the year 1997 to 2019. Results: Twenty-three litigation cases related to these illegal cosmetic procedures were selected. There were 21 criminal cases and two civil cases. Common illegal procedures included tattooing (n=11), use of laser and intense pulsed light device (n=6), administration of intradermal injection (n=3), and application of topical agents (n=2). Two civil cases reported facial deformity and accidental macular damage caused by illegal use of lasers by the beauticians. Conclusion: In this study, illegal cosmetic procedures performed by beauticians were identified. Continuous monitoring of these illegal procedures is necessary as they can cause adverse effects in patients. (Korean J Dermatol 2020;58(10):669∼673)
MATLAB/Simulink Pulse-echo Ultrasound System Simulator with Electrical Impedance Matching

In an ultrasound system, impedance matching between a transducer and an electronics is one of the crucial factors to determine the performance. An electronics must operate with different transducers, which have their characteristic impulse responses and widely varying impedances so that impedance matching is difficult. Also, the parasitic element is another factor that impedes the impedance matching. In this paper, using MATLAB and Simulink, we simulate a pulse-echo ultrasound system and the matching network which is required to allow the use of transducers with widely differing impedances. Our simulation includes models of the high-voltage transmitter, the transmission interface, the acoustic subsystem which includes wave propagation and reflection, the receiving interface, and the front-end receiver, as well as a lumped model of the matching interface which can easily be adjusted by the designer. The simulated pulse-echo behavior was in close agreement with experimental measurements.
An On-Chip TDC-Based Threshold Voltage Sensor for NBTI/HCI Stress Monitoring in High-Speed Systems

Negative bias temperature instability (NBTI) and hot carrier injection (HCI) stress are among the most critical reliability issues in scaled CMOS technologies. The reduction in absolute threshold voltage over time due to NBTI stress and HCI stress can lead to severe performance degradation, especially in high-frequency, timing-critical systems. The proposed on-chip TDC-based threshold voltage sensor is able to detect variations in threshold voltage, which can be used to compensate for aging induced performance degradation.
Design and Analysis of Cross-coupled Ring Oscillator for High-Speed Wireline Communications

Cross-coupled ring oscillators are commonly used in high-speed wireline communications such as memory interface due to their simple design and low area cost. This paper demonstrates the design of crosscoupled ring oscillators operating in the GHz range and analyzes the performance tradeoffs resulting from different design parameters.
