        Research on Contamination-Resistant SiO2 Optical Thin Films in a Vacuum Environment

        The Contamination resistance of SiO2 optical films prepared by using sol-gel method was investigated and improved in this research. FDTS (1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane) was used to modify SiO2 thin films. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to evaluate the components on surface of the SiO2 thin films. The optical properties and hydrophobicity were also measured. The results show that the SiO2 thin film modification with FDTS causes -OH groups to be replaced by organic groups containing fluorine. The transmittance peak of SiO2 thin film changes, and the surface contact angle of water droplets on the SiO2 film increases from 35° to 107° after surface modification with FTDS. After the SiO2 thin films had been put in a vacuum environment for 24 hours, the peak transmittance of the modified SiO2 film under the same conditions is reduced to 0.14%, which is less than 3.17% of the unmodified film. The peak transmittance of the modified SiO2 thin films is also improved.

      • A DC Transformer Based on MMC and Full-Bridge Structure with Control Method

        With the deterioration of environmental problems and the shortage of fossil energy, DC distribution net with convenient access to distributed energy has a bright prospect. To connect DC buses with different voltage level, DC/DC converter becomes the focus of research. This paper focuses on the modulation strategy of dc-dc converter based on the modular multilevel converter (MMC) and Full-bridge, which is suitable for medium-low voltage and high-power transmission. On this structure, a quasi-square wave modulation strategy with voltage conversion ability is adopted to improve the performance of the dc-dc converter. This modulation strategy can flexibly alter the AC voltage peak value and limit the dv/dt on the edge of square wave. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink verified the proposed modulation strategy.

        Research on Intellectual Property Right Dispute among Nations: A Case of "China-EU Geographical Indications Dispute over FETA Cheese" and Implications for North Korea

        According to the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) under World Trade Organization(WTO), geographical indications(GIs) is one of the intellectual property rights. As an important intellectual property, GIs not only have economic value, but also play a significant role in terms of the culture of a region, a nation, and even a country. Therefore, the European Union(EU) takes the intellectual property strategy as an important international conversation, especially the protection of GIs. The 2017 China-EU Bilateral Agreement on GIs has completed the thirteenth round of negotiations.1)This negotiation has also provided many new perspectives for China's geographical indication system. 2)Both China and the EU have a long history and culture. Moreover, there are many high-quality and high-reputation on geographical indication products. At the same time, 3)China and the EU face many challenges in the protection of geographical indication products. 4)For example: Why is there a difference in the concept of geographical indication protection in China? Why are Chinese consumers less aware of GIs? And how can Chinese geographical indication products easily enter into the EU market? This paper compares the geographical indication protection legislation and practice between China and the EU, and analyzes the disputes of the EU and China on the protection of GIs in 2017 with respect to the case of “FETA cheese”, and study the case of “FETA” cheese in the 2002 of EU dispute of GIs. This paper points out the differences between disputed cases of geographical indication protection between China and the EU, and the geographical indication products of China on how they easily enter the EU market and enjoy the same preferential policies as the European Union's geographical indication products offer inspiration and strategic advices. North Korean- South Korea summit on April 27, 2018 and the upcoming US-North Korea summit on June 12, 2018 can be seen that North Korea currently needs economic and market development. The solutions of dispute cases through the analysis of GIs in China and Western countries will provide considerable help and inspiration for the development of North Korea’s future economic market. Currently, on the occasion of the North-South Summit and the North Korea-US Summit, a study of the case of China is considered extremely valuable for North Korea at a time when South Korea and North Korea are attempting to become one state. We hope that this research will trigger further studies on North Korea's changes.

        Application of Block Diagonal Technique to a Hamiltonian Matrix in Performing Spin-splitting Calculations for GaN Wurtzite Materials

        The bulk inversion asymmetry (Dresselhaus) terms (i.e., B2, B1, and B01 terms) of wurtzite materials are determined. The 2 × 2 conduction band, 2 × 2 heavy-hole band, 2 × 2 light-hole band,and 2 × 2 crystal-field split-off hole band matrices of wurtzite semiconductors are developed and decoupled by using a block diagonal technique. Importantly, those 2 × 2 block diagonal matrices incorporate not only the interband coupling effect but also the bulk inversion asymmetry effect. Analytical expressions for the conduction and the valence band spin-splitting parameters and energies of GaN wurtzite materials are formulated by solving the block diagonal matrices.         Novel Deadlock Control for Smartphone Manufacturing Systems Using Petri Nets

        Currently, the marketing strategy in the manufacturing industry is becoming more and more competitive. Thus, the production efficiency becomes the main developing trend, which many people are now pursuing. However, the automatic production might cause resource conflicts and system deadlocks. In this study, Petri net models and analysis were used to effectively avoid deadlocks and to achieve the goal of lean production. The iPhone XS device developed by Apple is now a popular product. Consequently, this paper aims to describe its manufacturing system by using Petri net models. Meanwhile, the siphon property of Petri nets can be used to detect the deadlock in the manufacturing processes and to avoid it from occurring. Two simulation software tools, WoPeD and PIPE, were applied to conduct the experiments. The experimental results have indicated that our proposed approach is more feasible and acceptable than other existing ones.

      • Screening of MicroRNA in Patients with Esophageal Cancer at Same Tumor Node Metastasis Stage with Different Prognoses

        Patients at the same pathological stage of esophageal cancer (EC) that received the same surgical therapy by the same surgeon may have distinct prognoses. The current study aimed to explore the possibility of differentially-expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) underlying this phenomenon. Samples were collected from EC patients at the same tumor node metastasis (TNM) stage but with different prognoses. Paracancerous normal tissues were taken as controls. The specimens were histopathologically analyzed. Differentially-expressed miRNAs were analyzed using real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Compared with patients with poor prognosis, those with good prognosis exhibited 88 two-fold or more than two-fold increased miRNA fragments and 4 half-decreased miRNAs. The most noticeably up-regulated miRNAs included hsa-miR-31, hsa-miR-196b, hsa-miR-652, hsa-miR-125a-5p, hsa-miR-146b, hsa-miR-200c, hsa-miR-23b, hsa-miR-29a, hsa-miR-186, hsa-miR-205, hsa-miR-376a, hsa-miR-410, hsa-miR-532-3p, and hsa-miR-598, whereas the most significantly-downregulated miRNAs were hsa-let-7e, hsa-miR-130b, and hsa-miR-103. EC patients at same TNM stage but with different prognoses show differentially-expressed miRNAs.

      • Pu-erh Tea Powder Preventive Effects on Cisplatin-Induced Liver Oxidative Damage in Wistar Rats

        Background: Chemotherapy is one of the major means for control of malignancies, with cisplatin (CDDP) as one of the main agents, widely used for the treatment of various malignant solid tumors. However, prevention of hepatotoxicity from cisplatin is one of the urgent issues in cancer chemotherapy. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of pu-erh tea on hepatotoxicity through body weight and tissue antioxidant parameters like, liver coefficient, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX), malondialdehyde(MDA) and glutathione (GSH) levels, and light microscopic evaluation by histological findings. Materials and Methods: The rats were randomly divided into five groups: Control (n=10), cisplatin (3 mg/kg p.i., n=10), cisplatin+pu-erh (0.32 g/kg/day i.g., n=10), cisplatin+pu-erh (0.8 g/kg/day i.g., n=10) and cisplatin+pu-erh (1.6 g/kg/day i.g., n=10). Pu-erh tea powder was administrated for 31 consecutive days. The rats were sacrificed at the end on the second day after a single dose of cisplatin treatment for measuring indices. Results: Pu-erh tea powder exhibited a protective effect by decreasing MDA and GSH and increasing the SOD and GSH-PX levels and GSH-PX/MDA ratio in camparison with the control group. Besides, pu-erh tea was also able to alleviate the pathological damage to some extent. Conclusion: Pu-erh tea powder is protective against cisplatin-induced liver oxidative damages, especially at the medium dosage (0.8 g/kg/d).

        Prediction of postoperative pancreatic fistula using a nomogram based on the updated definition

        Purpose: The International Study Group on Pancreatic Fistula’s definition of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) has recently been updated. This study aimed to identify risk factors for POPF in patients having pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and to generate a nomogram to predict POPF. Methods: Data on 298 patients who underwent PD from March 2012 to October 2017 was retrospectively reviewed and POPF statuses were redefined. A nomogram was constructed using data from 220 patients and validated using the remaining 78 patients. Independent risk factors for POPF were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. A predictive nomogram was established based on the independent risk factors and was compared with existing models. Results: Texture of the pancreas, size of the main pancreatic duct, portal vein invasion, and definitive pathology were the identified risk factors. The nomogram had a C-index of 0.793 and was internally validated. The nomogram performed better (C-index of 0.816) than the other most cited models (C-indexes of 0.728 and 0.735) in the validation cohort. In addition, the nomogram can assign patients into low- (less than 10%), intermediate- (10% to 30%), and high-risk (equal or higher than 30%) groups to facilitate personalized management. Conclusion: The nomogram accurately predicted POPF in patients having PD.

        SCHUR CONVEXITY OF L-CONJUGATE MEANS AND ITS APPLICATIONS

        In this paper, using the theory of majorization, we discuss the Schur m power convexity for L-conjugate means of n variables and the Schur convexity for weighted L-conjugate means of n variables. As applications, we get several inequalities of general mean satisfying Schur convexity, and a few comparative inequalities about n variables Gini mean are established.
