Structural optimization of unsymmetrical eccentric load steel box girder based on new swarm intelligence optimization algorithm

Shen Su,Yixiao Qin,Kaiyao Yang 한국강구조학회 2022 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.22 No.5

The steel box girder structure is widely used in many engineering practices and it is therefore necessary to study the optimization and improvement of its structure. Firstly, a small-tonnage double-girder bridge crane was used as an example, with the box section parameters for one of the main girders as the design variables and weight reduction as the objective. The mathematical model for the optimization of this validation case was developed with the strength, stiff ness and stability of the girder as the effi ciency constraints. The next step was to go through two new swarm intelligence algorithms based on animal hunting behavior, Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), as well as two classical swarm algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The optimization models of these four algorithms were simulated and analyzed by the fi nite element method, and the simulation results were compared. The feasibility and performance of these two new swarm intelligence algorithms in the structural optimization of asymmetric eccentrically loaded box girders were verifi ed. Finally, these two new swarm intelligence algorithms were applied to the structural optimization of the main girder of a large-tonnage bridge crane.

      • Polymorphisms of TERT and CLPTM1L and the Risk of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Chinese Males

        Su, Ling-Yan,Li, Xue-Lian,Shen, Li,Zhang, Yue,Zhao, Meng-Meng,Yin, Zhi-Hua,Su, Hong-Ying,Zhou, Bao-Sen Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.19

Background: Telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) and cleft lip and palate trans-membrane 1 like (CLPTM1L) genes located on chromosome 5p15.33 are known to influence the susceptibility to various cancers. Here, we examined the association of TERT and CLPTM1L single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials and Methods: Genotyping of TERT SNP rs2736098 and CLPTM1L SNP rs401681 was performed using TaqMan allelic discrimination assays in a case-control study of 201 HCC cases and 210 controls in a Chinese male population. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated using logistic regression analyses. Results: Both the rs2736098 T allele of TERT and the rs401681 T allele of CLPTM1L were associated with a significantly increased risk of HCC (adjusted odds ratio [OR]=1.605, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.164-2.213; adjusted OR=1.399, 95%CI=1.002-1.955, respectively). Individuals carrying both TERT and CLPTM1L risk genotypes had an even higher risk of HCC (adjusted OR=4.420, 95%CI= 2.319-8.425). The TERT rs2736098 T allele was also significantly associated with the level of the HCC clinical indicator alpha-fetoprotein (P=0.026). Conclusions: Our results show that genetic variants of TERT and CLPTM1L may contribute to HCC susceptibility in Chinese males.

Increased Cellular NAD+ Level through NQO1 Enzymatic Action Has Protective Effects on Bleomycin-Induced Lung Fibrosis in Mice

        ( Gi-su Oh ),( Su-bin Lee ),( Anjani Karna ),( Hyung-jin Kim ),( Aihua Shen ),( Arpana Pandit ),( Seunghoon Lee ),( Sei-hoon Yang ),( Hong-seob So ) 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 2016 Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Vol.79 No.4

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a common interstitial lung disease; it is a chronic, progressive, and fatal lung disease of unknown etiology. Over the last two decades, knowledge about the underlying mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis has improved markedly and facilitated the identification of potential targets for novel therapies. However, despite the large number of antifibrotic drugs being described in experimental pre-clinical studies, the translation of these findings into clinical practices has not been accomplished yet. NADH:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) is a homodimeric enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of NADH to NAD+ by various quinones and thereby elevates the intracellular NAD+ levels. In this study, we examined the effect of increase in cellular NAD+ levels on bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis in mice. Methods: C57BL/6 mice were treated with intratracheal instillation of bleomycin. The mice were orally administered with モ-lapachone from 3 days before exposure to bleomycin to 1-3 weeks after exposure to bleomycin. Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected for analyzing the infiltration of immune cells. In vitro, A549 cells were treated with transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) and モ-lapachone to analyze the extracellular matrix (ECM) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Results: β-Lapachone strongly attenuated bleomycin-induced lung inflammation and fibrosis, characterized by histological staining, infiltrated immune cells in BALF, inflammatory cytokines, fibrotic score, and TGF-β1, α-smooth muscle actin accumulation. In addition, β-lapachone showed a protective role in TGF-β1-induced ECM expression and EMT in A549 cells. Conclusion: Our results suggest that β-lapachone can protect against bleomycin-induced lung inflammation and fibrosis in mice and TGF-β1-induced EMT in vitro, by elevating the NAD+/NADH ratio through NQO1 activation.

Review : Cisplatin-induced Kidney Dysfunction and Perspectives on Improving Treatment Strategies

( Gi Su Oh ),( Hyung Jin Kim ),( Ai Hua Shen ),( Su Bin Lee ),( Dipendra Khadka ),( Arpana Pandit ),( Hong Seob So ) 대한전해질학회 2014 Electrolytes & Blood Pressure Vol.12 No.2

Cisplatin is one of the most widely used and highly effective drug for the treatment of various solid tumors; however, it has dose-dependent side effects on the kidney, cochlear, and nerves. Nephrotoxicity is the most well-known and clinically important toxicity. Numerous studies have demonstrated that several mechanisms, including oxidative stress, DNA damage, and inflammatory res-ponses, are closely associated with cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. Even though the establishment of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity can be alleviated by diuretics and pre-hydration of patients, the prevalence of cisplatin nephrotoxi- city is still high, occurring in approximately one-third of patients who have under- gone cisplatin therapy. Therefore it is imperative to develop treatments that will ameliorate cisplatin-nephrotoxicity. In this review, we discuss the mechanisms of cisplatin-induced renal toxicity and the new strategies for protecting the kidneys from the toxic effects without lowering the tumoricidal activity.

Secure and Fine-grained Electricity Consumption Aggregation Scheme for Smart Grid

( Gang Shen ),( Yixin Su ),( Danhong Zhang ),( Huajun Zhang ),( Binyu Xiong ),( Mingwu Zhang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.4

Currently, many of schemes for smart grid data aggregation are based on a one-level gateway (GW) topology. Since the data aggregation granularity in this topology is too single, the control center (CC) is unable to obtain more fine-grained data aggregation results for better monitoring smart grid. To improve this issue, Shen et al. propose an efficient privacy-preserving cube-data aggregation scheme in which the system model consists of two-level GW. However, a risk exists in their scheme that attacker could forge the signature by using leaked signing keys. In this paper, we propose a secure and fine-grained electricity consumption aggregation scheme for smart grid, which employs the homomorphic encryption to implement privacy-preserving aggregation of users’ electricity consumption in the two-level GW smart grid. In our scheme, CC can achieve a flexible electricity regulation by obtaining data aggregation results of various granularities. In addition, our scheme uses the forward-secure signature with backward-secure detection (FSBD) technique to ensure the forward-backward secrecy of the signing keys. Security analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve forward-backward security of user’s electricity consumption signature. Compared with related schemes, our scheme is more secure and efficient.

      • Design and Implementation of Livestock House Environmental Perception System Based on Wireless Sensor Networks

        Weizheng Shen,Guanting Liu,Zhongbin Su,Rongyu Su,Yu Zhang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.10 No.5

In order to monitor the six factors which is the most crucial influence on livestock production in livestock house, this paper designs a set of livestock house(LH) environmental perception system based on wireless sensor networks. This system is composed by a number of data acquisition nodes(DAN) connected by using Wireless Sensor Networks. Inside of DAN is equipped with six type of sensor which in charge of collecting Real-time environmental data in LH, including carbon dioxide sensor, ammonia gas sensor, illumination sensor, relative humidity sensor and so on. The communication mode between upper-computer and central node is GPRS, to research on remotely control environmental parameters in LH in the future. The upper-computer could treat data which is uploaded by several central nodes through some way, for example, data analysis based on established protocol, threshold judgment, etc. Then, the real-time data is stored by database. The stability and veracity of the system was verified by field tests which set technical grade monitors as control groups. Comparing with industrial-grade high precision monitoring instruments, the error of collecting data and wireless communication network is within normal error range, By SPSS, the result shows that there is no significant difference of P-Value(P>0.05) in different groups at same time.

      • New Therapeutic Concept of NAD Redox Balance for Cisplatin Nephrotoxicity

        Oh, Gi-Su,Kim, Hyung-Jin,Shen, AiHua,Lee, Su-Bin,Yang, Sei-Hoon,Shim, Hyeok,Cho, Eun-Young,Kwon, Kang-Beom,Kwak, Tae Hwan,So, Hong-Seob Hindawi Publishing Corporation 2016 BioMed research international Vol.2016 No.-

<P>Cisplatin is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of various tumors. In addition to its antitumor activity, cisplatin affects normal cells and may induce adverse effects such as ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity, and peripheral neuropathy. Various mechanisms such as DNA adduct formation, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and inflammatory responses are closely associated with cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity; however, the precise mechanism remains unclear. The cofactor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) has emerged as a key regulator of cellular energy metabolism and homeostasis. Recent studies have demonstrated associations between disturbance in intracellular NAD+ levels and clinical progression of various diseases through the production of reactive oxygen species and inflammation. Furthermore, we demonstrated that reduction of the intracellular NAD+/NADH ratio is critically involved in cisplatin-induced kidney damage through inflammation and oxidative stress and that increase of the cellular NAD+/NADH ratio suppresses cisplatin-induced kidney damage by modulation of potential damage mediators such as oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. In this review, we describe the role of NAD+ metabolism in cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and discuss a potential strategy for the prevention or treatment of cisplatin-induced adverse effects with a particular focus on NAD+-dependent cellular pathways.</P>

PREPARATION OF CINOBUFAGIN-LOADED BOVINE SERUM ALBUMIN NANOPARTICLES FOR HEPATOCARCINOMA THERAPY

        YONG-HUA SU,JIAN-GUO ZHANG,JIE SHEN,FENG-QIAN LI,HUA SU,CHANG-QUAN LING 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2009 NANO Vol.4 No.1

Cinobufagin-loaded bovine serum albumin nanoparticles were prepared for treating hepatocellular carcinoma. In this report, cinobufagin-bovine serum albumin-nanoparticles (Cino-BSA-NP) were prepared by an aqueous desolvation process. The physicochemical properties, toxicity, and cancer-related applications of Cino-BSA-NP were investigated. Cino-BSA-NP had a uniform spherical morphology with a particle size in the range of 50–240 nm and an average size of 86.3 nm. The zeta potential of the nanoparticles was -49 mV. The overall embedding ratio was 79.5% and the drug loading was 24.1%. Cino-BSA-NP gave cinobufagin release of up to 53.5% within 3 h, followed by slower controlled release. Cino-BSA-NP inhibited growth of hepatocarcinoma cells in vitro to a similar extent as free cinobufagin, but with a much higher median lethal dose (LD50). Hepatic histomorphological changes indicated that hepatic damage was much less severe with Cino-BSA-NP than with free cinobufagin (2.19 mg/kg). The survival time of nude mice with orthotopic transplantation tumors treated with Cino-BSA-NP was prolonged significantly. The results confirm that Cino-BSA-NP renders cinobufagin completely dispersible in aqueous media, meeting the key requirements for intravenous injection, and show controlled release, thus significantly improving cinobufagin's antitumor activity while reducing its side effects.

      • 두만강 수질의 30년간 변화와 전망

        임봉수(Bong-Su Lim),신동호(Dong-Hao Shen),신형철(Heng-Zhe Shen) 대전대학교 환경문제연구소 2013 환경문제연구소 논문집 Vol.17 No.-

This study was to look out a better water quality of Tumen river by observing the variation of quality and causes of pollution for 30years since 1977 the negotiations between China and North Korea to present. China decreased industrial wastewater discharge and COD load by 71% and 94%, respectively through constant efforts since negotiation to present. But Tumen river is a boundary river so that the water quality should not be solved only by China. As the economics of North Korea recovers, industrial wastewater will be a big problem for a potential risk factor and it must to resolve by the negotiation between two countries. The main pollution sources in China are Chenming paper industry company, Shixian paper industry company and the urban sewage by population growth of Yanbian. Beneficiation wastewater of Musan iron mine has become a big SS pollution problem, and industrial wastewater including the strong organic matter and volatile phenol from Aoji chemistry company would have been a problem in North Korea. According to the ‘12.5’planning to improve water quality in Tumen river, the government planned bad V class(worse than 40mg/L COD) which occupies 9.7% of the water quality area presently to less than V class, and I~III class which occupies 71% to more than 80%. Construction of sewage treatment plants should be urgently needed in Yanji, Hunchun and 5 other cities.
